Looks like we've taught Thomas our regular corner style quickly. 🙄

Forgot that was against them. Redemption for Pears, blistering debut from Thomas, and Diaz to have a stormer to prove his head's still in it. Those things happen, we should be all right. 🤞

I don't know enough about it, but a lot of people saying this is very different to the UEFA thing. Different rules apply etc. And this isn't just a few discrepancies, they're getting charged with 100 breaches. Hell of a lot of wriggling needed to get out of that surely.

This Man City story could be huge. An example needs set imo. That's not sour grapes, but if the rest of us Championship clubs have all been punished over the years, why the hell have the clubs at the top been getting away with it for so long.
-
And cocked about all transfer window trying to get clauses in contracts where they can make a profit for doing absolutely sod all with a player for a year. Not absolving our lot of their incompetence. But if Forest really wanted to do what was best for the player, they could have offered more favourable terms to Championship clubs earlier in the month. He would have been snapped up quickly, no doubt. They're at fault too. Not interested in any whining from them, no matter how sorry I actually feel for the player.

I think it would be pathetic not to be angry and call this out. It's reminding me off the Shane Duffy two own goals game now too, in terms of the suspicious conspiracy theories. Has it been done on purpose? Is there bad intentions at play? 🤔 Couldn't give a flying **** either way! All I knew then was I didn't want Duffy anywhere near Blackburn Rovers ever again. And what's good for on the pitch should count for off it too. If you remove the individuals, their intentions are instantly rendered completely irrelevant. And if your suspicions were wrong and misfounded, even the worst case scenario is you've binned an underperforming employee. 🤷🏻♂️

The more time I've had for the statement to sink in, the more angry I am about the phrase "..one of the deals was a very ambitious target.." Gaslighting us that the only problem here is that they were reaching for the stars. The old Icarus story. 'Sorry, we got ahead of ourselves and flew too close to the sun!' Let's have it right, this was an unwanted player who wasn't going to be in a Premier League team's squad, had already seen a couple Championship clubs pull out for various reasons, and was left with one option....us. Hardly the major coup that statement conjures up. It was a fairly standard loan deal that scores of clubs do every single transfer window. As much as I really wanted the player here, I believe he could have made a real difference, I'm not having them make out this was the complicated, high status transaction they're pretending. It was a basic football business agreement that was monumentally ballsed by complete incompetence. Stop lying to the fans, we're not thick!

They couldn't even commit to things "beyond our control..." Had to instead go with a mealy-mouthed "..we believe to be outside of our control". Oldest trick in the book. You know you're on dodgy ground when you have to skirt round statements like that.

New signing and no 5 min countdown, no sticker book.....and you didn't even wait till 11 o clock to announce it. 🤦♂️🤦♂️ So many open goals, couldn't be more Rovers. 😂

What you thinking to get the message across? I know other clubs have done tennis ball protests etc. In off topic news my daughter and her pals had a great birthday party with these cheap, inflatable clocks: https://www.cutpricewholesaler.com/toys/inflatables/x99351-inflatable-jumbo-clock-with-necklace-24.5cm?cPath=160&gclid=EAIaIQobChMIranL0Mz0_AIVj5ftCh3QzgEsEAQYASABEgLfZfD_BwE#googlebase Flavor Flav style! 😀

Would love to know if there really are several clubs that have given literally no information to their fans by 11.30am the next morning. Bearing in mind our only info is coming from a journo and not the club itself.

Or maybe he's doing you over by pretending he was doing you over. 🤔🤔

Seriously, forget the 'Have you lost that loving feeling?' thread. We need a 'Have you gained that immense anger feeling?' one. Sick....to....fucking...death....with this bullshit!

Playing fast and lose with the term 'continuous' whilst linking two events in 2004 and 2023. I'd suggest he do some research into some other clubs. He'll find handfuls of articles within last few years for many of them. Unbelievable that he's attacking one of the clubs that is up there in terms of progress in these issues. Clown.

Whoops. 🤣 I did not know that information. Just looked at the table. About time some of these big clubs got clobbered for it. Since we had to take our medicine. -
Am I reading this right? I.e. Did you read it the same as me Mike? I'm taking that 1st paragraph as referring to Islam. Or have I got wrong end of stick? If so, Judan Ali's response on Twitter is mind blowingly missing the point. (I have no idea if Ali is Muslim but feels like that's what Yasir was getting at to me).

What a fall for Juventus this season. Down to 13th in the League having just been beaten 2-0 at home by Monza. With 23 pts they have less than half of leaders Napoli (50 pts). And Napoli have a game in hand tonight. When you think Juve were going for 10 league titles on the bounce a few years ago. Going to be a long road back to the top. -
v Birmingham FA Cup 4th Round replay - 31/1/23
Silas replied to Sweaty Gussets's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
My word, the bitterness is strong. I had no idea we had such a fan. He only tweets a handful of times a month but was fully at it on derby day supporting Burnley: 🤣🤣🤣 Someone needs to introduce him to that old phrase: Resentment is like drinking poison and waiting for the other person to die. What an unhealthy place to be. -
It's entirely accurate if what we're trying to judge is goals in a 'team'. I think you're more trying to look at it in terms of player v player. Diaz has been our top goalscorer the last season and a half. Where he plays is irrelevant to that stat. Lucas Joao has scored at a better strike rate than Diaz over their total recent club careers, both have had 22 goal seasons in the last 3 years. We desperately need goals in the team, and Diaz will probably be gone soon, 4 months or 4 days. So, with such similar records I think it's entirely fair to compare in terms of the needs for our team. I'm not thrilled about it either. Wasn't massively on board the first stint he had with us. But beggars can't be choosers and he ticks a lot of the boxes missing at the moment. So, the signing would get a big thumbs up from me initially. Genuinely can't see how it can be looked at any other way when you factor in the whole Hirst/Vale saga. It's been depressing watching them two dollop about up top. Particularly Vale's recent backtracking warm up jogs.
-
According to Wiki: Lucas Joao = 40 goals in 100 appearances Brereton Diaz = 40 goals in 128 appearances Exact same time period in the same division. Now stats don't always tell us everything. But I'm not sure we're in a position to turn our noses up at a player that has a better recent strike rate than our 'star man'. Whether you argue about who's played on the wings or not. (I'm guessing a lot of those Joao appearances are from the bench too). Particularly when one of our biggest problems at the moment is scoring goals.

Modi wants all investment kept in India.......supposedly.

My research on Sorba: Had a swift rise to up to professional level. Went from training as a scaffolder/bricklayer and working at JD Sports to getting in the Wales team and into a Playoff Final in a matter of years. “Sometimes I have to pinch myself and think: ‘Is that really Aaron Ramsey right there?” he said. “Guys I used to watch on TV or play with on Fifa are now opposite me.” Had a great season 21-22 when he played a major role in Huddersfield Town finishing 3rd in the Championship In Sep 2022 there was some unsubstantiated rumours circulated on social media about the player. (Don't think they need repeated on here!). But this lead to him getting a lot of abuse online, and he was also booed by 'some' HT fans whilst coming on as substitute. There are further rumours of a fallout with HT manager around Boxing Day 2022 when he was left out the matchday squad. Some say this could be related to lack of gametime due the manager choosing to play a different formation without wingers. HT fans seem to see him as one of their major assets (young, long contract, good record) and are as worried about losing him on the cheap as we are at not being able to get him for a fair fee should the loan go well. His form has clearly been poor this season. Some of their fans calling him a one trick pony that is good at set pieces (and crosses) but weak in general open play.

For clarification what's the 2? That 2 players will definitely be signed by Saturday? Or something more specific on a particular player? Just want to be clear on what I can attack you about when it doesn't come off!

Sorry, no, there's too much of it now, and the horse has fairly bolted. We do let the transfer threads go off tangent a bit, understandable considering the level of transfer activity equals zero! But the people have spoken, since this is the most liked post for a good few pages. So with a week to go: Can we please keep the transfer thread on the topic of transfers. Take ex manager discussions to the relevant manager threads please. From here on out any off topic posts will be hidden, so please don't waste your time just for the content to disappear.
