  1. And within 4 pts of both Burnley and Sunderland with a game in hand. Both in the Prem now. Imagine if we'd just spent even a sensible, modest amount on transfers each of those Januarys we were in similar positions. The opportunity has been there multiple times. Everytime we've sat on our hands. Come 2026 when that spend is needed to retain our 2nd tier position, will we react. Yep, we'll probably sell a couple.
  2. 2 weeks before Xmas feels like a hell of a time to discover I'm not real. Then again, if I don't exist, then Venky's don't exist too right. Every cloud.
  3. Looked up some stats for my own sanity, and our record on 90+ minute goals = 19/20- 1 goal 20/21- 0 goals 22/23 – 5 goals 23/24 – 4 goals 24/25 – 3 goals 25/26 - 6 goals (after 18 games) So, we went from being the best in the league in those first 2 seasons, to being about average/mid-table in the next 3, to being by far the worst this season. (Next teams have 3 goals this year) Some of the 90+ minute Top of the Pops over those years: 19/20- Sheff Wed = 10 goals (not relegated) 19/20- Charlton = 8 goals (relegated) 21/22- Bristol City = 9 goals (not relegated) 21/22- Peterborough = 8 goals (relegated) 23/24- Huddersfield = 10 goals (relegated) 24/25- Sheff Wed = 7 goals (not relegated) So my definitely not scientific conclusion is that if you end up top of that particular stat, there's a 50/50 chance that relegation is on the cards.
  4. Tbf, he preached that mantra, but then did have a tendency to make lots of excuses. Here he is bemoaning a penalty decision, playing 3 games in a week, and only having 48hrs to prep for a game, all in one interview. And talking about being away, if I want to nitpick. All excuses if you think about it. If you're good enough, all those things shouldn't matter. https://www.rovers.co.uk/news/2024/october/26/eustace-frustrated-by--terrible--penalty-decision/ His actions didn't always match his proclamations.
  5. Great by Todd and Andri. De Neve, do not fuck this up!!
  6. Would snatch hand off for a point now. Probably what we would have got from 1st match anyway. See Saturday as an example. 10 man Ipswich probs on a par with 11 man Wrexham. 90+ min equaliser was likely on the cards in the monsoon.
  7. Yeah, 50% red when we're the defending team, and 50% yellow when we're the attacking team.
  8. Sweepstake on the next Ipswich player to check for imaginary blood on their head.
  9. Was just thinking that myself. I'm all over the place. Well I'm sure we're going to get resoundingly beaten tonight. Hopefully I'm wrong on that too for the hattrick.
  10. Crap. In that case I'm meaning the 2011 win at OT. Only remember the 22-1 odds cos my wife left house and said stick a fiver on that for me. I did not place that bet.
  11. I'd be more shocked with a win tonight than I was with the Bentley hattrick win at Old Trafford. And we were 22-1 that day. More for the circumstances than any disparity in the teams obviously. 3 pts would feel like justice, which is not usually our theme.
  12. And would move up to 5th, not 4th with a win. Apart from all that it's a cracking article. Edit- Actually think they would scrape 4th on goals scored with a goal win.
  13. Yep. Hedges tracks that run and no goal. Lazy and sloppy from a fresh player.
  14. Nailed on yellow. But he had a little chat instead, which seems reasonable. 🙄
  15. Not to defend the ref (who was a dick to us all night) but in real time on TV it happened so fast a yellow seemed about right....just. Only the replay that showed the reality. VAR would have dispatched him swiftly. But I don't ever want that in the Championship. The only circumstances I ever want to suffer VAR is with £100+ million in the bank.
  16. Think Miller's been fouled about 5 times tonight without punishment. The ref a cricket fan. Got Ashes fever.
  17. Is it me or is every tackle a push or a grab. Very handsy this Preston team.
  18. 🤭🤭, Lars got himself some warranted attention:
  19. Clicked on to "not being at all convinced" by Pears though aren’t they.
  20. See his account is now locked and hidden. Hell of a move for a journalist that relies on engagement. What a mess.
  21. Agree. sure he's having a great time over in Spain too. Tbh, he might do better coming on as a sub, up against tired players, with his trickery and the slightly more space afforded in La Liga. Could be more productive that way.
  22. I was reading that as, you're already out of favour and on the bench, and not even getting a confidence boosting runout in the cup. But, who knows, maybe he's carrying a knock. No doubt, but we're pretty shit. I'll make a bold prediction. He won't be a regular starter for them come New Year. Not hating on him. Genuinely wish him the best. But I can’t argue against my head. And I think he's below that level and will get found out.
  23. Looks like he's been dropped to the bench last 3 games. A football stat site has him 12 out of 17 Espanyol players for performance rating. Not sure he's ripping it up over there as much as people initially thought.
  24. Another simple layoff butchered by Andri before.
