  1. They wanted 4, we wanted 10, 8 seems like a pretty reasonable result. Allowing him to play on was the issue. Just suspend whilst the final decision is made. Was never going to be less than the usual 3 games for a straight red, so why on earth not ban immediately. If they stay up by less than 3 pts I can see the other relegated teams being pretty angry.
  2. Yep, I know that Gally, he's an absolute beast. See report from just Feb this year: Blackburn ratings: Gallagher fantastic but midfield off pace Sam Gallagher - 8 Another proper workhorse performance. Ran the line brilliantly and poked past Woodman to put Rovers two ahead. Bullies the defence, makes great intelligent runs, good layoffs, bangs in a screamer. It's all very familiar. Problem is I also remember the other 160 matches well. 😉 Think there's a high chance you'll be back in New Year going - "Oh, this is what you lot were on about." But, as others have said, genuinely wish him well. Seems a good fella, and he always tries hard. Just trying often isn't enough. He's guaranteed to score against us, so I suppose you'll get the chance to crow that day.
  3. Mines available for any player that leaves one on Ben Wilson these last 15 mins. Perfect 10 score.
  4. Commentator said "I think he can do better with that shot" What would be worse? An own goal.
  5. Like it! Defender for attacker straight out the gates. Proactive from JE
  6. You'd assume for Hedges
  7. Theoretically, should be a lot different playing at home v 10 men, rather than away in a derby. But last week doesn't give much confidence that we'll now coast to 3 pts.
  8. Can we agree his inconsistency meant he was awful today.
  9. Got to be a lengthy ban surely. Suarez got 4 months.
  10. Wasn't an accident. He took the opportunity to get a kick in.
  11. He booted the player after the whistle. Stupid tbh. Now we lose the best signing for a run of games.
  12. Doubt we'll get the 9+ mins injury time that's due here. Even after their GK timewasting watch about 4 mins go up.
  13. He's a prick in the changing room now.
  14. I get, and fully back, that earning obscene amounts of money doesn't mean we can run them into the ground. And of course I'm looking at it from a consumer point of view where I want bang for my buck. Rodri has also riled me up by moaning about it before it even happens. I understand he's fully capable of reading and judging a fixture list, but maybe wait till the congestion and potential fatigue occurs before going in with the strike threats. But if, by Xmas, players are dropping like flies, he'll look bang on, and I'll be the idiot. It's the theory that they HAVE to put their big guns out every match to be successful that I contest. The strength in depth is greater than ever. If I try to compile a rough super 'B' team from City/Arsenal/Liverpool (I'll leave Villa out as fresh to CL): Jesus/Nunez Doku/Gakpo H. Elliott Trossard C.Jones/Endo Jorginho Tsimikas Stones J Gomez Walker Ortega Let me manage that team and I fancy my chances for Top 4. 😀 I don't believe that would have been the case a decade ago. They're complaining more than ever, yet they have better player (quality) resources than ever.....imo.
  15. In terms of money, opportunity, level played/playing at? It's a fine balancing act in terms of perceived 'success' (i.e. wealth + a Prem League player) vs happiness and a good, healthy work/life balance. Phil Jones should serve as a warning to those that come after him: https://www.sportbible.com/football/football-news/man-utd/phil-jones-manchester-united-injury-mental-trauma-interview-590255-20240917 "Phil Jones opens up on 'mental trauma' he suffered at Man Utd in incredibly honest interview" I wonder how much happier Jones's career could have been on an alternate timeline well away from the pressure cooker mess of Old Trafford. Money isn't everything, (the World doesn't always work this way), but give me the choice of the 'Phil Jones' route and being worth £40M, or playing for a Championship club where you're idolised, appreciated, and minus the abuse, and end up only worth £10M, it's a no brainer for me. I agree with @Exiled_Rover too, the Southampton fan base is turning quite nasty towards BBD. And as a struggling club, him being a confidence player (who's also susceptible to barren spells), I fear things could get bad for him.
  16. Appreciate Rodri is talking forwards, but by the 'title decider' Sunday it will be 6 weeks since City's season start (Charity Shield). They've played 6 matches. By minutes on pitch here's a list of their players that have played 4 games or fewer: Silva, Kovacic, Doku, Savinho, Grealish, Gundogan, Rodri, Stones, Walker and Foden. https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/manchester-city/leistungsdaten/verein/281 Cry me a river....regardless of internationals. That 'team' has played the equivalent of 4 matches in a month and a half.
  17. I'll give you a different argument. I pay a shedload for all the TV subscriptions to watch the matches that make them so well paid. I want value for my money, I want to be entertained as regular as often. All the English teams in the CL have massive squads, with strength and quality running deep. Just rotate more, let those overpaid reserves get a crack more often. But they won't, because they have to win the competition. What 'City' are saying is- we want to win every competition via as few games as possible! Course they do. Minimum effort, maximum reward. And the less games, statistically more chance of them succeeding, as less abnormal variance (sending offs, dodgy penalties etc). Less variance means the best team will conquer more, and they're the best team. But I (and I am millions of viewers) want them to put more shows on, entertain me more. 🤷🏻‍♂️ If you're deperate to protect the players, put a limit on mins played a week. Force them to rotate. Would probably help even the playing field tbh. Make it all more competitive. But don't demonise the viewers for thinking they're being a bit whiney about the schedule, when we can all go to their squad list and compile 2 full strong 11's with change left over. It's gaslighting.
  18. Tough judge if u bag a goal and don't score a better rating than rest of team barring one (the other goalscorer) I'd be feeling short changed there.
  19. 100's of millions spent and they're on a rival messageboard proudly displaying xG of 0.85 against ten men. I'd have been keeping that well out of sight. The couple of sly digs in the final sentence screams volumes of how rattled they are.
  20. That point was made by quite a few in comments during the furore. Peta actually got into a Twitter row back and forwards with her. A lot of people also asking who left the trainee teenager in charge of the official social media accounts. Was not the most professional.
  21. Gueye stupid, but that was a yellow all day for the Burnley player, as was the Foster one. Ref has created that full situation by being a total shithouse.
  22. True, but mainly after he's lost it softly for 6th time upfield.
  23. Not sure it's a red out there, foul and yellow maybe. Both a mile onside originally and flag doesn't go up till after the next sequence. Just trying to work out what he's seen.
  24. Did the lino think Hedges got a nick on it whilst hitting the ground. Only reason I can think for flagging there.
  25. To get in at Turf Moor? Low turnout for them on such a sunny day. 😏
