  1. Yeah, I was too lazy to scroll up. 🤦‍♂️ Pre-season football predictions can make mugs of us all. I suppose Luton did play a nice brand of football last time in the League, that was very effective at this level. Is strange how badly they've capitulated.
  2. Probs for Prem thread, but I'm not convinced they will. Despite the fact they'll probably get the cheque book out. It's such a big rebuild. KDB to replace, Silva showing his age. Haaland was really struggling regardless of the injuries. Rodri returning isn't going to be the magic wand to solve everything. And I think the likes of Liverpool, Newcastle, Arsenal can get stronger....easier, if that makes sense.
  3. Bumping this with @Oldgregg86's Luton shout 2 posts above. That's a rough move. 😃
  4. Thought he held on to it too much, and ruined a couple possible breakaways in last few minutes. Was almost like a brainfreeze that he couldn’t decide what to do. Get he was going to be rusty after the layoff, but he shouldn't look so confused by having possession of a football. Either pass it, dribble it, try knock it past a man. But don't just stand there doing nothing! Was infuriating.
  5. Seeing those 3 January signings lollop round the pitch for the last 10/15mins just summed up the failure. Had a look and the 3 'Championship' teams in the top 6, Coventry, Sunderland & Bristol City - Transfer Markt has them spending 17M, 12M & 10M this season. It has us spending 5M. That's the difference. You simply can't compete for the Top 6 in this league without spending some money. And that won't change, it will get worse.
  6. I've moaned in previous relegation and playoff battles about our rivals being up against soft opponents, with nothing to play for and rotated teams. And more often than not, those rivals got the result. We're now in the position I whined and moaned about. If we don't deliver, no-one to blame but ourselves. The odds are in our favour for once. Please capitalise lads.
  7. If you hold him at such low regard as a manager, should have been hoping he stayed on at West Brom. We could be competing with them next season in top half of table. Or, if in a relegation battle, 4/6 pts against a crap managed team could be vital. Either way, celebrating him being sacked doesn't make sense as I see no benefit to us. Bring happy it had happened when our manager I could understand.
  8. Compared to some of the challenges the ref has let go unpunished, that's a free kick and a stern final warning at worst.
  9. Seems fair. Was just difficult to swallow with the 2 pullbacks being 60 seconds apart. 5/10 mins later would have been easier to take.
  10. 2 out Chaddy. Not bad. Think I like your front line better. But happy with enough with Ribeiro at LB rather than Harry.
  11. Get Gueye on soon while the momentum is still there.
  12. Quite like the passion there from Dolan tbf. At least he showed some animation.
  13. True, why doesn't one of them speak out then. What's the worst that happens, you get sacked. Gutter, you mean I have to go find myself a non-basket case club. Don't even think it would count against them with future clubs in terms of professionalism. They'd understand, everyone in football knows the crack now.
  14. Changed my mind within days, was happy to just see out the season with VI, but he can piss off right now. Put Lowe in charge, the youth coach, put @Mike E's sodding pie in charge. Couldn't care less, just relieve him of duties immediately after this match. It's the only option now.
  15. Thanks lads, perfect timing for me to switch to start of Madrid match. No faith we muster even the weakest of fightback efforts. Garbage. More backbone in a jellyfish than this lot.
  16. Mbappe, Vini Jr, and Bellingham. Or Dolan, Hedges, and Cantwell. Like choosing between a vintage bottle of Dom Perignon, or a warm bottle of Lambrusco fished out a wheelie bin.
  17. There clearly an OCG operating, and the SIO doesn't realise a CI is releasing information behind the scenes. The end result = it's all FUBAR
  18. This is all just very bizarre to me. Is the story?- Glen M has been getting interviewed on Sky Sports News, lambastiing everything about the running of the club. But it's all because he has secret meetings with Waggott, who is a puppetmaster in the background......pulling the strings to encourage Glen M to call the business he is CEO of......a complete shitshow! I can't even begin to wrap my head around how that would work for either side. Or am I missing the point? Genuinely lost.
  19. I was thinking the same. Probably in a minority here, but I'd settle for it. 3 months stretches to 25th May, 3 weeks after season end. Limp to the finish of another miserable campaign, (for so many reasons on and off the pitch), then send him on his way. Opportunity for a massive overhaul in the summer of playing staff, hopefully under a new component manager. It's a slim glimmer of hope I can grasp onto.
  20. Dolan running in treacle again. People gallop past him like they're on airport travelators.
  21. You mean like 'We know the core support is behind us'. I.e. It's just a few rogue troublemakers. And 'We're not going to spend 15-20 million per transfer window'. Yeah we get that, you're hardly spending 1-2 million at the moment. Any chance of a middle ground and not bullshit extremes.
  22. Adam's resigned reality was what stood out to me. A victory? "Should be, won't be....it ain't happening mate" There speaks a voice of countless rodeos, decades of witnessing groundhog days, and just knowing what the final outcome will be no matter the hope you go in with. It's a grim defeatism I recognise too well.
  23. Yep, him too. Maybe deluded, but I think Sam might have come. The wink in the podcast, a point to prove, short term (months) contract so no longterm upheaval to lifestyle at his age. One last roll of the dice, and the dangle of a big fat bonus to buy himself another villa. I know it's the nostalgia sucking me in, but I would have been confident of him getting us in the playoffs. And from there, the chance to win the lottery.
  24. The players have lost the will for it imo. The Eustace shambles, and the rest of the circus, has knocked the stuffing out of them. And VI was never the person to lift them back up. An Allardyce/Dyche type might have. That moment's been and gone, and after the last few seasons of setting up camp regularly in the Top 6, I genuinely fear we may never be there again for a long time. Top 6 League 1 maybe the next target. I'm a heavy mix of anger and apathy. Feels justified and warranted, rather than the usual emotional and reactionary.
