  1. What a strange situation. A player who reported to training as per normal y'sday and today, has somehow been interpreted by the media as some sort of stike or deliberate no-show! Did they literally just make it up or what? I mean transfer rumors is one thing, this is just stupid! 'Right then boys what shall we go with on the back pages 2moz boys?' 'Torres maybe, Serena at wimbledon?' 'Hows about..... Benni didnt show up at Rovers y'say for training' 'er.. you what boss?' 'Just bloody run it....' I mean how do these stories come about?!
  2. Just looking through my post history on my profile and found this little beauty. Thanfully as the poster a couple below said, 'im more likely to believe Hughes then yourself'
  3. I think its quite incredible that the Welsh Fa have allowed a manager who puts personally vendetta's above his nations progress and results, to continue in his job. Savage is not the only one, there have been another 2 or 3 who have been frozen out by To$$er-ack, only to be replaced by league 1 players-is it a supprise theyre doing crap now?
  4. Some very simple observations. If Benni does go it will be nowhere near the £6m figure. We are under no pressure to sell and if someone doesnt meet our minimum requirement of £10m i would have said, then ok we'll keep him, doesnt bother us. He will not go on the cheap, if we do sell him, i expect to be able to rebuild the entire strike force with the kinda money.
  5. Well if nobody offers us more then 8 mill, then its simple he wont go. We will not be forced into selling on the cheap, £12m and higher
  6. Everybody has a price these days. However, he has 3 years left on his contract, there is not clause and we dont need to sell. The balls in Chelsea's court, if the sun is to be believed, come and make an offer, £15m? We could do alot with that kinda money!
  7. Wouldnt be against Nonda saying per say, but it does depend massively on the price. £2m would seem a little a steep, considering how notoriously careful we are with money these days under Hughes. Esp when he would be only a 4th striker perhaps, if we signed a Bellamy or Bent in the summer
  8. My limit is £30 unless it is a special game (1st game at Emriates for example) so will not be going to OT this time. They can shove their £36, funny how they were complaining that we charged them that as a cat A+ game. Im bloody glad now!
  9. Hold on a second, Bellamy major flaw is that he not a great finisher or natural goalscorer. Id say thats rather important being a striker and all. McCarthy has the both of them and will end up with c 25 goals in all comps this season. Brilliant return for £2.2m.
  10. 97-98 season, Sutton, Owen and Dublin all finished joint top prem goal scorers. Surpprisingly enough, guess who was the only 1 of the 3 not drafted into the England squad....
  11. That site is brilliant, absolutly brilliant. There is one part i agree with and thats the section moaning about united's champs league win in 98-99! Great stuff-smart site and all
  12. Isnt saying that Souness must have been wrong with regards to Todd (simply because he is Souness), rather a silly childlike daft point? Just a thought mind you, just a thought.
  13. Has he buggered off yet, wish this would get sorted out, whether he stays with us or goes to one of l'pool/west ham. All this speculation is a mite annoying imo.
  14. West ham will give us more money so thats all im bothered about. I dont want him at Ewood anymore and the quicker he goes the better, the only unhappy player at a very happy football club! I not really that bothered that he wants to go to west ham, a club not doing better then us, which was his orginal reason for moving. He has gone stale, a move would do everyone good!
  15. I hate to say i told you so, but there were even more on then i estimated, 29350 our highest crowd for over 3 years. Goes to show that the potential is there. Imagine how many we could have had on if the prices were 12pnd adult & a fiver for kids, and the game wasnt on tv; 40k? More maybe. Our board know that they can get away with charging the prices for l'pool and man u, we musta made our highest ever gate reciepts for a league game considering the prices and the amount of season ticket holders we have. Half the crowd were walk ons!
  16. Firstly id just like to apologize for the way the message came across, very unsympathetic. Now id just like to address a number of your points. I am not one of those people who believe the club does everything right. I am in the middle probably, i will critize when neccessary, but i also feel that sometimes the club gets the hard end of the stick. I have repeatly stated in the past that we should screw the 1.5m or whatever we would loose (sky money makes it up anyway) and just have 12pnd adult and 5pnd child ticket prices. And yes the prices are ridiculus. However, why does it have to man u or liverpool? You could take the grandson to Bolton or arsenal or chelsea, arent these games big enough to garner intrest and get yourself onto the database that way. The point im trying to make is that the ONLY 2 game in the year are united and l'pool where this practise is upheld what else can they do, l'pool have sold out its a boxing day game. You telling me there wont be knuckle-draggers everywhere if we had a open sale policy? Whilst i feel sorry for the old lady in question, there are a million and 1 ways to get on the database and she's had more than enough time to do it. And btw, the club charge 36quid cos they know this game will sell out (or almost) Boxing day, liverpool in town, bellamy back, i expect at least 28k.
  17. Im sorry, but i have no sympathy whatsoever. It is repeatedly stated that for Liverpool and Man u ONLY you need a prior purchase on the database. Everybody knows this, why do people moan ever time one of these 2 games come along. The club are doing the right thing, unless you wanna loada bloody red fans sitting next to you in the bbe Why is she on the database previously you only have to go to 1 game to get tickets? Why should people get tickets for l'pool if they cant be arse with any other game. Club spot on imo.
  18. Last kick of the ###### match. Im having a very @#/? day
  19. Im returning from my semestre of study abroad in America at UNCW, so will pick up a young persons half season ticket which is cool. At least 1 is gonna b sold then!
  20. For the rubbish that is in there, he does make a couple of good points. Firstly, where he mentions our fans putting the town down, with reference to Becks, 'Actually consider it a possibility as the club is strong enough to appeal to Beckham. Of course fans prefer to put the club and town in the same context openly mocking the 2 process. You wonder why attendances are dropping. Keep putting the club down.' Whilst we all realise that Blackburn is not Barcelona, there are plenty of worse places in England/the world to live. Secondly we all know that a player lives in leafy cheshire or central manchester depending if they like the country or city life!! Secondly, the point he makes about Dunn has a reasonable amount of truth to it. Whilst i would personally like Dunn back if the fee was right (500k ish) because the risk is low, thoughts of paying £2m or beyond seem very much along the lines of 'hes a local boy' I would like to see Vinjay reinstated on a final warning, where is allowed to post about JW and the running of the club in this thread perhaps and then he must not post about it in all the others. The first time he violates that, hes gone for good!
  21. Boro and Bolton got very similar crowds in this stage of the competition last year, and come from simliar and perhaps even slightly larger catchment areas. Is the attendance that much of a supprise??
  22. Sorry pal, that wasn't a dig at the Dutch language or anything, its just a simple fact of life. Outside of Belgium and Holland, the language is not used in an important basis (not much relevance to europe for Dutch Antilles or surinam) so that is why you make the effort to learn English, French or German, more worldly langauges. They speak Afrikaans in South Africa a different langauge.
  23. Why did we play a full team in this waste of time match? 2 injuries to players who shouldnt have been playing!
  24. what the hell are they meana do for goodness sake? Critize the TO when it deserves to be, dont just complain for complaing sake! Would you like them to come to your front door and sell em or what
  25. Lets say we did lower the prices to £20 Cat A (man u, l'pool, everton, arsenal, city)and £15 for Cat B games (all others), how much money would we really loose? Ticketing revenue must be such a small part of our income when you consider sky tv money, prem finish prize money, sponsorship, player sales etc. Considering we would average over 25k as oppose to 20k at the more expensive prices im sure we wouldnt actually loose that much money, and it would be worth it to see the ground fuller. We would have to lower the s/t prices as well, but why dont we try something new? Take the 1.5m loss or whatever it would be and try and be pro-active for once, we can be the novelty of the prem! We had 20,500 Rovers fans on against Bolton, more home fans than the total attendance vs wigan, city and chels! Bravo board, now can we take it further? On a final note, if you consider that under the Taylor report ticket prices were recmomened to be £6, with inflation should have risen to around £12, near enough to what people paid on sunday. This show what the prices should be!
