  1. Boro and Bolton got very similar crowds in this stage of the competition last year, and come from simliar and perhaps even slightly larger catchment areas. Is the attendance that much of a supprise??
  2. Sorry pal, that wasn't a dig at the Dutch language or anything, its just a simple fact of life. Outside of Belgium and Holland, the language is not used in an important basis (not much relevance to europe for Dutch Antilles or surinam) so that is why you make the effort to learn English, French or German, more worldly langauges. They speak Afrikaans in South Africa a different langauge.
  3. Why did we play a full team in this waste of time match? 2 injuries to players who shouldnt have been playing!
  4. what the hell are they meana do for goodness sake? Critize the TO when it deserves to be, dont just complain for complaing sake! Would you like them to come to your front door and sell em or what
  5. Lets say we did lower the prices to £20 Cat A (man u, l'pool, everton, arsenal, city)and £15 for Cat B games (all others), how much money would we really loose? Ticketing revenue must be such a small part of our income when you consider sky tv money, prem finish prize money, sponsorship, player sales etc. Considering we would average over 25k as oppose to 20k at the more expensive prices im sure we wouldnt actually loose that much money, and it would be worth it to see the ground fuller. We would have to lower the s/t prices as well, but why dont we try something new? Take the 1.5m loss or whatever it would be and try and be pro-active for once, we can be the novelty of the prem! We had 20,500 Rovers fans on against Bolton, more home fans than the total attendance vs wigan, city and chels! Bravo board, now can we take it further? On a final note, if you consider that under the Taylor report ticket prices were recmomened to be £6, with inflation should have risen to around £12, near enough to what people paid on sunday. This show what the prices should be!
  6. Why the hell didnt Neill take the fuking pens? Just cos he missed vs Sheff U, he should still be the regular taker as he has a good record!! Why didnt they just wack them instead of all this placing ###### Thats 10 yrs since we have won at home to notlob in the prem, total farce.
  7. I would guess that part of the reason is that often Swiss or especially French people have far less of a command of English than Polish or Dutch people do. Whereas Polish or Dutch are langauges just about useless outside their own borders, the swiss and French dont have to worry so much about speaking another language, kinda like us lazy gits!
  8. Yeh was excellent again today, if only he was left-footed we'd have ourselves a superb converted left back! Watching it on chinease tv, about 1 min to go till full time, bentley had the ball in the corner next to our fans and all you could hear was Neill shouting in a passionate voice, 'kick it into the f**king corner, kick it!'. Looks like he hasnt lost his motivation and 100% effort, even if he is gonna go in jan/july
  9. I think this game is very important for the future of ticket prices at Ewood Park. This is the real acid test of wether putting the prices down to a very reasonable level makes a significant difference. Importantly, whenever they have done it before, its been a monday night job on sky, against Charlton with about 200 away fans. This time for the first time, its a lancashire derby between two upwardly mobile teams, not on tv and a 3pm trad kick-off (allbeit on sunday). If we do get a good crowd then perhaps the board will stop and take notice for next season. If it is a @#/? crowd, they'll just think sod it, nothing will bring the fans back, lets just try and make as much money as possible! Really important for as many people to get down to the game as possible, i would expect Bolton to bring in the region of 4k+ at that price so hopefully we can get a 25K+ crowd! I await with intrest
  10. Talking of Bolton, ive just noticed that tickets for their end are prices at only £15 for adults and £5 for kids. Does that mean the same will apply for the BBE lower and other parts of the ground, or if its a misprint, or if perhaps both clubs have done a deal and we will get cheap tickets at their place?? http://www.bwfc.premiumtv.co.uk/page/Ticke...~906722,00.html
  11. Great news the goal is offside. Wigan get on my bloody nerves sometimes
  12. FR, very interesting story, thanks for that i love hearing about football from before my time (at only 19 that is basically pre 93 ish). The point i was trying to make with Jan is that obviously the Rangers vs Celtic game is going to have a incredible atmosphere, and so to try to compare this to run of the mill Rovers matches is slightly unfair! So i tried to turn it around and compare Rovers vs Burnley and a Celtic run of the mill match so i chose (and at home mind you ) Falkirk!
  13. I remember you used to loose money if you got knocked out in the first round or 2, not sure if that is still the case! With Millwall a coupla years back, i defo remember their chairman saying that they loose money if they go out in the first round which they did I would guess we would stand to make a little bit of money from the group stage, i suppose it depends on the draw, ajax and rangers at Ewood would see tv and decent crowds coming our way, slavia prague and Fc Oslo* or something, probably not! * Dont take names literally
  14. Arent they? Hows about comparing a Rovers vs Burnley atmosphere and a Celtic vs Falkirk atmosphere. Which 1 of those would be the dead one, lets be more realistic with our comparisons!!
  15. We've been through all this crap before, i think she said that she supported Blackburn at Celtic Park and Celtic at Ewood park, or something like that. As for supporting 2 clubs, dont see the problem as long as its from 2 different nations at that is the case here so.....
  16. Thats why people moan at those who dont go to games! You dont get the real picture of a match where Rovers were comfortably the better side!! Great win, 2 wins in a row, lets get into the uefa group stages now!
  17. Making Wigan at home a Category A game is totally ridiculus. Last year they bought around 2k, this year with the premiership novalty having worn off, they will bring barely that (although might be offshot slightly by the fact the game aint on sky this year). Perhaps an interesting indication on how many tickets Wigan expect to sell is the fact that our official site, it says we have allocated Wigan the whole Darwen End, whereas on the wigan site it says 1,400 tickets! In reality, there are only 2 games that should be category A+ and that is Man u and L'pool at Ewood. As for the others, it would depend if the game was on sky, if it was midweek, if it was sat 3pm etc to whether Man city, N'castle, chels, arse and Everton would be Cat A. All the rest would be cat B
  18. No, but my 1 says that a match is coming on at 7.52, so maybe its like 5 mins delayed. However, its doesnt actaully say the match so it could be anything!
  19. Are Liverpool a similar standard cos they drew with sheff united also? Whata load of crap. Its 4 games!
  20. I think we made a big mistake in not getting rid of Neill and i hope we dont live to regret it. We could have got maybe £3m for him and offloaded a unhappy player with just 1 yr of his contract left. Instead, we are gonna keep him, his value will go down and i think his performances will cost us points. Last year he was superb, but this yr, knowing hes gonna leave, the fact hes never had 2 good years in a row and his general lack of discipline makes me nervous this year. Cant help think we shoulda cashed in for him when the going was good after his world cup! Hopefully Brett now has the right back slot his own!
  21. I think we have done pretty well out of the transfer window. When you consider that most people were wondering how much money we had to spend in the first place we have actually made a profit, strenghtened the squad imo and still have plenty of money in bank for january or next summer. Sold Bellamy for £6.5, Kuqi for £2.5m, Douglas say £500k, giving us a total of £9.5m We bought Benni for £2.25, Roberts £2.25, Jeffers free, Ooijer for £2m for a total of £7m. Thats pretty good business in my book considering we prob had around £4m to spend giving us some £6m for a rainy day, or something has gone very wrong by january.
  22. 4 millions plus Pong!! We should snap their bloody hands off for that!
  23. If we went down, our crowds wouldnt change that much imo. We would have almost always 3pm sat kick offs (or wed 7.45) with only 2 or 3 games on sky. The prices would also be slashed to maybe 20-25 pounds for bbe tickets! Btw, look at Wigans crowd today. This is their 2nd season in the top flight, so the novely has worn off a little and their prices have got up a long way. The result: Only 14,000 on!!! To see whether we are getting more home fans or not, we need a category B match on a sat 3pm kick off imo. Thats the best way to judge. Chelsea will be 18k ish. When will the board realise that chelsea are not an attraction to Rovers fans and if its on tv you cannot charge cat A+!
  24. Blackburn End Lower, row 26 towards the centre, better not do seat numba in case someone comes and attacks me!
  25. For the world cup, you need 10 stadiums with over 40,000 capsity. Stadiums below that mark are not to be used under fifa rules. In the europeans championships however, you only need 8 over 30k hence perhaps the confusion on here. Are they serious about taking it away from SA? Ive got mates from uni out there and i was planning a trip in 4 yrs time. Is this all rumor or has fifa actually commented on it??
