  1. Not too bad prices, although it would have been nice if they had replicated the prices we've had at home in recent rounds ie either £10 or £12. With it being on Sky, hopefully there will be a reasonable travelling support, despite the fact its an awful ground to get to! Any chance of any student tickets?
  2. Yeah, i didnt like that advert that was played at Ewood. It wasnt that i was offended, cos i dont get bothered about that kinda thing, it was just at the time, i thought to myself, there are so many more postive ways of promoting anti-racism. Instead of concentrating on the actual people who are racist, it just sterotyped the whole white race into 1 category, despite the fact ive never uttered a racist comment in my life.
  3. How many tickets have we sold for this game Lee? 500 ish? To be honest i hope less and that will show up the disgraceful ticket prices! Chels 2-1 Rovers To be honest, im not really that interested in this game. It wont make 1 bit of difference to our season, whether we win, loose or draw, so im not that bothered. Role on the fixturs against team who havent spent £300m!
  4. Well said oscar, this is the biggest loada nonsence ive seen for a long time. A segreated stand for Asian supporters, in a English and therefore majority white town/football club? Jim Crow laws anybody I dunno about anyone else, but i saw more asians at Ewood for the b'ham game then ive ever seen before. Whole families dressed up in the blue and white were at the match, which shows that the club is progressing on that front, but obviously we gota long way to go. Further development from this is needed, not a seperate stand!
  5. Just seen a real b'ham classic on the footiemad b'ham site. One of their fans claimed that they took 2,000+ travelling fans to Ewood. Thats some effort, considering they were only allocated 1,700 tickets Jeez, dont cha just love big club syndrome
  6. I would like to see the layout at Ewood changed, to make it look to the cameras that the ground is more full. Personally i dont give a s**t how full/empty Ewood is (although of course in an ideal world it would be full every week), but i think we would get a more postitive views if we make the ground look full. What i would to do is:- 1.) Make the Darwen end lower the area for away fans. Obviously it would look rather sparse when charlton or fulham come, but when the tv camera's pick it up, we can blame it on the away fans. As the majority of clubs bring about 3k, that will leave the darwen lower looking pretty full. The relocation of these fans to other parts of the ground will help pack out those parts also. 2.) Close the bbe upper which wont be seen by tv of course. That will again pack out the rest of the ground. 3.) Change the outer parts of the Jack walker upper (on either side) to family areas which should help fill the quite ridiculus gaping whole's in there on normal match day. 4.) This should all lead to even say a 20K crowd making the ground look full, as the bbe lower, riverside and j walker stands will be almost full to capasity. The bbe upper can be opened for demand as can the darwen upper to away fans when needed. Any thoughts?
  7. The draw IS this sat lunchtime. Games to be played on tues/wed nov 29/30th i believe.
  8. Considering that Leeds brought 3k ish i thought that the crowd was excellent. I thought that they might have brought upwards of 6-6,500 which would ahve given us a crowd of 19k ish! Good for a league cup game. Good performance, easy victory and Emerton was excellent, getting alot of good crosses into the box and scored too! Decent other team goals for the other 2 and thats 5 in 6 wins. Well done lads!
  9. Who cares what a load of part-time glory hunting fans think? The last time they saw Rovers play for any length of time was the game at Ewood last yr, when the lucky gits got a win. I think chels will win 3-1, but im not really bothered about the result as long as we dont get thrashed. Drawing with chelsea aint gona make or break our season, results against the teams around us, however, WILL Oh and with a any luck only about 250 Rovers fans travel.
  10. Ive read the comments by Blackwell on the Leeds site and it seems like they might rest some of their first team players. We should have enough to beat their first team anyway, let alone a half first/reserve team they will put out. Should be a reasonbly strong team from us and i will predict a 3-0 win. My team would be:- Enks Neill Todd Illegal Gray Reid Thommo Savage Emerton Bellamy Jansen 13,800
  11. Have'nt i missed something our next game aint against chelski, is the Leeds game not happening or something? Some pre-match chat for that game please?!
  12. Lets just put the issue to bed, dont need to bring up Anfield again
  13. Fair enough, its clear to see that we got our wires crossed. Apologies for any 's aggressiveness in my post esp considering you've been watching the Rovers since 1940's! (i respect that big time )
  14. Cool thanks man!! If i collect 5 of them will you buy me a ticket for Highbury
  15. Me and my mate got handed a leaflet today whilst approaching the bbe and i will be defo signing up online. I think this is a good idea and agree that ticket prices is an important issue (not partiularly at rovers but nationally!). Good work guys
  16. Dont wanna brag here (whilst cheekly quoting himself ), but almost spot on. I got the scoreline correct, 1 goal scorer and the crowd basically right also! A very bad first half, in which the only decent moments came right at the end of the half. Have to amit tho, i dont think ive ever seen anybody miss a chance when they've been that far through on goal tho ! Bellamy is a touch of class and defo garantee's goals, what a bargain at £4m. I though the defense were superb today and hopefully 5 wins in 6 against leeds in mid-week before being brought back to earth again chels!
  17. Looking foward to going to the game tmoz, despite the early wake up, coming from uni in Stoke on trent I think we will win this game and continue our good form! Rovers 2-0 B'ham Nelson and Bellamy 19,000
  18. I hope for 2 things. 1.) No of them make it to terestrial tv as that would only see more Rovers fans not going to games. Its bad enough when they can just walk 5 min down the road to the pub let alone, in their own front room! 2.) The amount of games on tv are reduced. Its no secrect that we get our best crowds for 3pm sat kick offs, anthing different from this only reduces crowds!
  19. I got AAC at A-level so give me that arrogant crap about university or 'levels of intelligence' these days. Look, here are my simple views on the situation. I didnt sing the chants at Cisse on saturday, because i didnt want to. In an ideal world, those chants wouldnt have happened on saturday as i have previously written. However they did, and im questioning the big deal? Opposition fans have chanted 'where's your helmet' to Jansen, called Wenger a pedophile and as i said previously chanted about Shipman, Munich and Hillsbourgh. What i was trying to argue (i thought you were the intelligent 1), was not that the Munich and Hillsbourgh chants weren't appalling (a bigger disgrace cannot be found inside football), but that when you compare Cisse chants to that, it is not on the same scale. Its on a similar scale to Jansen helmet and Wenger peode chants imo. In other words i see there being a boundary. On that boundary are chants like cisse, Jansen and Wenger (the ones i mentioned above). Ideally these chants wouldnt happen, and i dont sing them. However i realise in football they are going to happen and for me are JUST acceptable banter. However chants about Munich, Hilsbourgh, deaths in any way, sectarism or racism well crosses that boundary. I hope this clears things up and dont ever presume anything about me again.
  20. The 2nd point is absoulte crap. If its true, then liverpool fans are getting seriously ripped off. I dont think rafa would be to happy either, if it takes that for him to score!
  21. Oh for crying out loud, why are we still going on about this? Its not that big a deal ffs, and Cisse was quoted as saying 'i thought they said, hows your glass leg' We didnt we sang 'hows your leg'. Yes in an ideal world it wouldnt happen but lets not go ott about it. After all l'pool fans sing about Munich, so id have thought that a chant like that, harmless in comparison, wouldnt bother them too much. We had a 1,900 sell out. P.S if Cisse wasnt motivated to score without those chants then l'pool fans are getting conned outa a hellova lot of money.
  22. So will there be people outside Ewood handing out leaflets of information before the b'ham game or will they be in stands concourse ie, bbe lower where i'll be located next sat, as id very much like to get involved. Cheers
  23. If you seriously think that a few chants from visting fans was the principle reason for our 1-0 then its you who is the fool mate, a fool big time! Secondly, kindly tell me where exactly on this thread i said that i actually participated in the chants about his leg? Opps i havent and didnt so take a hike.
  24. I knew nothing about racist monkey chants, if thats true than thats a disgrace, if you knew me in real life you would know that i detest racism. What i was refering to was the fact that liverpool fans sing about Munich and Man u fans sing about Hillsbourgh, was our singing about Cisse really that bad??
