  1. The first thing i have to mention was our superb support today. As i have been trying to say all along, i think its better to have 18k hardcore fans as opposed to that plus another 12k day-trippers. The arsenal support was nothing short of discusting atmosphere wise and i was very proud of 18k Rovers fans easily outsinging the 30 arse fans. The best part was when they scored their 2nd goal and we (those in lower tier) simply stood up and started singing and continued it to the final wistle! As Green said on 606, all i could hear after arsenal scored their 2nd was rovers fans singing! I really enjoyed the day and wasnt too disappointed with the result, though i did think the third goal took a little of the gloss off it. Proud to be a Rover tonight!!
  2. Excellent, that defo gives us a better chance of winning. Nice to see the copy and paste service is still working at the bbc!
  3. I thought the 2 games were very anti-climatic. Both of the behind teams were at home and perhaps with an early goal and the ground really rocking they could get back into the game. In reality the away teams in chels and ac milan already with the upper hand went and ended that by both of them going ahead in their respective ties. The only time when something interesting happened was when Bayern scored to make it 1-1 and boy if Ballack's header which was cleared of the line went in, we woulda had 1 hellova 20min spell. As it was im glad Chels went through. As for the Derby game, absolute pre-planned madness aint ever seen anything like it. We thought we were bad boys for letting off a flare in the riverside after the dingle game
  4. I had a feeling that this thread would crop up again once i saw the score flash across sky sports news LOL
  5. I could name numerous games in recent yrs which have been more important, Playoff 91-92, l'pool 95, wothy cup final, preston promotion 00-01. Personally i would actually find it more pathetic if 30k rovers fans would turn up to cardiff at £45 a head, but only 20k turn up at £20 a head against Palace!
  6. Id like to see this mid-field when playing 4-5-1 The 'axe' Emerton Reid Savage Mgp Why cant we have both emo and reid in the team?
  7. Another excellent result against a team around us. Thats twice in 2 games against norwich and saints that we have been questioning the result and whether we could score. In reality we have done the business yet again and enough to keep us in the prem next yr. With another striker or 2 with this defense really could make for a exciting season next yr. Still thats for later, as we move onto the cup. C'mon Rovers!! I think that the team should be the same as today against arse but with emo in for thommo, who i think needs a good pre-season under his belt
  8. Got my tickets for the Semi today, me and my Dad, cheeky buggers, £4 flipping charge when doing it over the phone. Thats £95 for the 2 of us, this price and stopped me taking mates to the game who are non Blackburn fans which is a bit ######. Surely they coulda had more of the £25 tickets and £35 tickets last time, for the worthy cup final, it was £15 for me (i was u16 then) and £30 for my dad. How times change!
  9. Ha ha wales unlucky. Im delighted with this result, shows the class above which is hughes compared to that un-organised shambles TOSH-ak. Somehow the clown doesnt think that playing a proven prem savage in place of a league 1 midfielder would make any difference to the team
  10. Its scary to think of the amount of times we have bad luck vs mancs or bad ref decisions isn't it. Only in last coupla yrs we shoulda got at least draws, with dunn's pen being saved by someone who shouldnt have been on the pitch and last yr Yorke scoring a normal goal which was ruled out. I think it will be 2-0 to United much as i hate to say it, we no doubt will cheated in some way shape or form
  11. Henry out, B'kamp out, pires out, campbell out, cole is a maybe as is Ljungberg, so why not fellow Rovers fans! If we play well and viera and reyes are off form, that doesnt leave alot else for arsenal to play upon. I think it will be a draw a 1-1 with probably the same team which played against l'pool!
  12. Was Savage on sky sports then with big nose Thompson, i didnt see him on for the few minutes i glanced at the program?
  13. Youe missing the point though. Sure if we were playing burnley then i can see the reason for it. In reality we are being made wake up very early or stay over night, FOR NO GOOD REASON WHATSOEVER. Just for the sake of it, they have made it a 12.15 kick thats what is annoying people. Its the frustration of knowing that is could so easily be a 4pm kick off.
  14. Anyone who who is thinking of going, bring a few friends, cos we sure as hell aint gonna sell out at that ridiculus kick off time. The thing that has me scratching my head is just WHY the need for 12.15? Ok sure if were playing burnley then sure i can see the reason for it. But who gives a damn about arsenal there will be no trouble whatsoever. Typical of the FA, an appalling wake up time for everyone, and i hate waking up early Still i'll be there i might bring my entire extended family and friends and perhaps their family to. Im sure there will be enough tickets to go around
  15. I agree, why cant the kick off time be like the old super sunday games? A 4pm kick off on both sat and sunday sounds right to me. To get to cardiff for 12pm is the very definition of the word mission.
  16. It seems that games which are on sky affect our crowds more than any other team in the prem. As soon as i heard it was on sky i groaned to myself as that would mean a poor rovers away turnout. I would still expect more than 300 lol tho. On to the game, this is how would go, Guess who? Neill Nelson Todd N-E-J The 'axe' Emerton Reid Thommo Mgp Stead A 4-5-1 formation which looks strong but also looks creative too. A 1-1 draw for me with a set peice goal from a centre back!
  17. I think we (the supporters) have to treat the semi like it will our last game in the cometition. We must sell out and give our team a superb backing of support, singing no matter the state of the game and really enjoying the day out. Heavens, even rover6 could enjoy a day out a cardiff couldnt he?
  18. Poor game, but then again, who really gives a toss? By the time the semi comes around, the media will have forgotten all about lcfc and this match and so must we. Im sure we will raise our game come the semi's esp with Hughes and Savage playing on home soil, although i was a little disappointed with hughes playing 4-5-1. We looked alot better when Emerton came on and Stead, reverted to 4-4-2 with thommo in the centre and started to create chances. Dickov did, exactly what i thought he shoulda done against chels and blast it down the middle. Clear pen btw, sure he made a meal outa it who doesnt these days, but still a pen. Lcfc fans were good, but also disappointing at the same time, you woulda thought 6,500 could make more noise. We were pretty quiet throughout the game, and a crowd of 22k was poor. HOWEVER WE ARE GOING TO CARDIFF, and that is all that matters!! We have dont our part by getting to the semi, now God must do his part and draw us with n'castle. Wouldnt that be fun
  19. Right cheers, now ive heard the team news, im off to Ewood. C'mon the Rovers, 3-1 win!!
  20. Anymore ticket sales updates? And yes before you ask, i have already bought a ticket!
  21. What, you dont know by now? Burnley are a REAL club, whereas we are just a plastic one which sold its soul many years ago! Jeez, i though everyone in east lancs knew that by now
  22. Im sure it wasnt that bad, i heard it was more like 600. Still awful tho, but who cares, we got the points
  23. Its funny how things turn out at the end of a season isnt it? Reading through, i noticed how somebody said ' it depends on how key rovers players like De pedro do on where we will eventually finish' Did de pedro even play 90mins? Football is a funny old game!
  24. I think that the part of it which pleased me so much, was it such a team performance. We defended well as a unit from front to back, the wingers thommo and MGP included in that. Whilst going forward the full backs got forward a decent amount and we looked a threat on the couter against a miserly everton team throughout. Hughes is really building a solid dependable team which should comfortably pick up enough points to stay up this season. Reid was very good and perhaps we have found a new role for him in centre midfield, always thought he didnt have enough pace or crossing ability to be a proper winger like emerton ! Stead scored a good goal, but was very poor before that. After the goal he looked a different player, looking to have shots on goal, holding the ball up bringing other players into the game and spreading passes around. Just shows the confidence you can take from putting the ball in the onion bag We have 3 difficult fixtures coming up and im prepared to write-off the united game as thats away. However if we play like we did against everton there i no reason why we cant take a point off L'pool and at least that off arsenal, pending which arsenal turns up of course! C'mon Rovers and a great 3 points, dissapointing away support tho
  25. Does anybody know what the terms of the compensation package was that n'castle had to pay us?
