  1. Couldn't see another thread specific on this. I can see comments scattered around a few different pages so thought I'd centralise here. Markandy was outstanding for Chesterfield according to their local rag in their 5 nil win. 2 assists, ran Crewe ragged and was subbed after only 55mins. This is the kind of loan he should have had instead of that Aberdeen farce. He needs lots of games against players who will kick him. Connor O'Riordab played 90 mins for Cambridge in their 1 nil defeat in league 1.be interesting to see his progress there, considering that was the level of football he came from. Who else do we have on loan?
  2. I continue to find it bizarre about people don't get the basic concept of how the xfer market works these days. It is a rapidly inflating market due to the amount of money (which is always increasing). However running counter to that is FFP which clubs need to be aware of. The result? A heavy premium on young players for both their re-sale value for ffp purposes, but also the natural inflation of selling players in 5 years time. SS is almost 29. A 4 year contract takes him to basically no re sale value time. So 10m with add ons is about right imo. People comparing him with 20 year olds (albeit inferior players currently), or 23 years with a season experience in the epl is just not realistic.
  3. That Poku guy seems exactly the kind of player we should be signing. Which is exactly why we won't be signing him.
  4. You mean like against Newcastle in the cup last season? The guy needs a loan to get a number of games under his belt. Jury is out as to what level he'll make, but there is no need to be so vindictive about it.
  5. I always look forward to these early season league cup games. Another fun local away day for our fans and an opportunity to see some of the younger/fringe players.
  6. That's crazy! One game in? That must be the fastest casualty since Norwich lost 7-1 on opening day to Lambert's Colchester about 15 years ago, sacked off their manager and hired Lambert instead!
  7. A tad hyperbol there? Siggy scored 7 goals and had 4 assists in 34 games for us last season (alot of which would have been off the bench) which isn't a bad return.
  8. Probably thinks we're stupid enough not to know that the JP season is in full swing and most likely the most match fit player of the entire squad. More bollcoks imo.
  9. Was the De Lange link ever actually guenine or just more smokescreen bollocks?
  10. No surprise whatsoever. As I said, unless they are doing media with the club waving our shirt around, it's best not to get your hopes up.
  11. I find it amazing people thinking deals are done, just odd twitter sources. Until they are holding up a blue and white shirt at Brockhall, doing a club interview I don't believe a word of it. We've been mugged off by Venkys too many times for that!
  12. This will be the first example of many over the next 9 months of sky ruining a potentially good crowd with their ko changes. A sat 3pm game, first game of the season could have been close to 20,000 (Derby newly promoted might have bought 5k +). Instead we're in for a drab fri night affair.
  13. Thats a very good signing, even if it's just to stop the bastard scoring/assisting against us!!
  14. One thing that is good about Ohashi is that the J league runs from Feb to Dec, so he is pretty much half way thru the season. So shouldn't need any of that 3 months to get up to speed Mogga bollocks cos he's missed a bit of pre season. Should slot straight in a be on point fitness wise.
  15. Is that Rudy speaking for him on the interview video?
  16. Hope he fails miserably like the other wankers Phillips, Mahoney etc.
  17. Outstanding save by the Tranmere keeper from DM header for hatrick in the second game!
  18. We've sold the best part of 30m worth of players in the last 6 months. Why would another 15m make any difference?!
  19. This may have been discussed previously, but Langstaff was signed by Millwall today. For 700k plus add ons. Surely have been worth a punt?!
  20. Agree there! First thought I had when i saw it was that it is a cross between the 92/93 and the 93/94 kits!
  21. Players like this come thru once a generation for a club like ours. We had him for 18 months, did FA with him and then sold as quick as we could to the first bidder, a mid table also-ran who ain't won jack in their entire history. For barely £20m. Everton sold their generational talent for £30m 20 bloody years ago. FU venkys
  22. He reminds me of that other fraud Russell Martin. The nicer football he seems to play and the less he seems to achieve, gets him better and better jobs.
  23. Kompany is currently 1-20. One of the most bizarre situations ever encountered in football. And that is saying something..
