  1. If he did, i'm sure he wouldn't have spent £6 million on Kenwyne Jones! Although saying that, Britain did own Trinidad and Tobago at some point in the islands histories so I guess technically you are right!
  2. Personally would like to see the return of the home nations tournament whether it's next year or something which is organised in a few years time. It will be great to see England v Scotland and personally i'd enjoy playing all the home nations especially as the games against N.Ireland and Wales in recent memory were very enjoyable and had great atmospheres at both games. When club teams have derby matches, form tends to go out the window and it's usually the team who has the greater belief who goes on and wins the game. Hopefully it would teach England what belief means and might install some into us!
  3. It takes a lot of balls for someone to take risks. All the big managers have done it but the trouble with McClaren is that they were risks taken at the wrong time. Thats the difference between a top class manager and him. When you get it wrong, it shows much more on the international scene because you don't get 50 games a season to make amends.
  4. The fact we had to rely on Andorra to save our chances sums up how awful we've been. Todays performance was totally disgraceful. I'm totally gutted after todays performance especially after the fightback. Why we sat deep after we leveled I will never know.
  5. I don't think someone like Shearer, who was a professional for 18 years & played in over 600 games in his career, needs to have managed anyone to get a top job because he's been there and done that as a player to gain that vital experience a younger coach probably wouldn't have had. He's been through title chases, relagation battles and world cups with various teams and has probably learnt from some of the best and the worst to add to his experience. Along with his experience, he is also one of the most famous players on the planet and would instantly command respect from the players, kind of like Hughes did when he first got into management. He wasn't bad for a first timer either was he ;-)
  6. Beckham on the left side of midfield?? or is that 1 Bentley up front and 2 goalkeepers?
  7. We beat Sheffield Wednesday 7-2 at Ewood, maybe thats why you're getting confuddled
  8. Israel and Macedonia winning was just brilliant but to see Scotland go out in the last minute just made it extra special...especially when my girlfriends family are Scottish Come on England!
  9. Looking good so far, long way to go though!
  10. 6 weeks without Benni. We should get Yordi back on loan
  11. He should still be 1 or 2 weeks off a comeback by the time we face them. Good for us, bad for England. England win 1-0. Poor performance but at least we know for sure that even if Israel do get points from Russian game, we will probably fail to beat Croatia! Come on Israel!
  12. Probably mean Crouch upfront with Gerrard behind striker and Lamps and Barry in central midfield...if that's the case then why get rid of Sven!
  13. Michael Owen - Thigh Strain - 1 Month Out.
  14. Quality quote from BBC Sport site: "I finally get it. This is a Children in Need thing right? England's performance level will increase if we donate more?"
  15. If we don't qualify for the Euros then at least it will be a well deserved kick up the arse.
  16. FFS Lampard. Trying to score that precious goal to keep him in the squad even though every shot is going 10000m wide.
  17. The way we're playing, I can see Austria scoring. Bentley touched the ball once in about 8 mins. Twice now!
  18. I wasn't comparing their positions, I was taking the mick outta how we refused Zidane because we had Sherwood but replaced his name with Cantona just for a cheap laugh. I couldn't even get that. I feel let down and ashamed.
  19. Why did we need Cantona when we had Sherwood...
  20. It's funny how he never said that after we hammered them 3-0 So here is my quote:
  21. The sooner he goes, the better. He's a complete and utter idiot for most of the decisions he makes and leaves half of the team out the squad. When Hughes was manager he was attracting crowds of 70,000 in the Millennium Stadium against the small-ish clubs... For example: 29/03/2003 euro2004 Azerbaijan 72,500 10/09/2003 euro2004 Finland 73,441 11/10/2003 euro2004 Serbia & Montenegro 72,514 19/11/2003 euro2004 Russia 73,062 Toshack is attracting crowds of: 07/10/2006 euro2008 Cyprus 20,456 28/03/2007 euro2008 San Marino 18,752 02/06/2007 euro2008 Czech Republic 30,714 08/09/2007 euro2008 Germany 25,000 The last two teams should be attracting big crowds because they are two of the best teams in the international scene yet because Wales have gone drastically down hill, nobody wants to see them because they are playing such awful football.
  22. Yeah Norwich qualified for the UEFA Cup that season and played in it the season after where they beat Bayern Munich in October/November 1993!
  23. It's such a delight to see Derbyshire score, whether it's England or Blackburn. This guy represents what football should be about. He earned his place the hard way, learnt the ropes and now living the dream playing for the club he supports and making a name for himself.
  24. AMAZINGGGGGGGGG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Never been so drained in my life watching a game on TV! Absolutely brilliant. Carragher = Legend I'm speechless... Oh...Djimi Traore is officially better than Cafu as Cafu has never won the Champions League
  25. Probably go on a slide and be relegated if he left! Fortunately he will NEVER leave Rovers especially as we are on a high after finishing 4th and then 2nd in the league. If we can keep up the amazing improvement, who knows!! We might even get our hands on the Premier League trophy!
