  1. N'Zonzi absolutely oozed class at Rovers, right from his debut. If he did hit Ke*n then bonus points there too.
  2. Gonna go for a smaller Championship club like Burton, Bristol City, Barnsley. On a free + can 'fill in' in a couple of positions + former England under 21 captain () + captain of us last season = someone will probably come in for him.
  3. Excellently written DE. What a depressing read though. Pretty much all of Ke*n's quotes are unbelievably deluded, the ramblings of a mad man.
  4. Or even if it had been said at any time pre-Venkys. Summer 2010, just finished 10th with Big Sam. Great mix of experience (Nelsen, Salgado, Givet etc) and good young players (Phil Jones, N'Zonzi, couple of others). 7 years later we'd be going down to League One? Anyone saying that would have been laughed out of town. Then just a few months later we were bought by that lot and suddenly the future for Rovers became a frightening place.
  5. He didn't get Boro promoted!
  6. Good night for a couple of our old boys, Kalinic scored as Fiorentina beat Juventus and N'Zonzi played in the Sevilla team that ended Madrid's unbeaten run. Fair to say they've gone on to better things since leaving Venky's era Rovers......
  7. Forgot about him, he was pretty rubbish. Although he did play a part in Dunny's equaliser v the Dingles. Nevertheless he fits in nicely alongside Varney, Feeney, Paul Taylor and Spearing in the completely pointless loan signings category of the last few years.
  8. 23 years old and Chris Brown is the worst Rovers player I've ever seen, though there are some from the last few years that aren't too far behind.
  9. Ah, the days of the £50m war chest...
  10. What an awful list that is! £1.1m for Slew is frightening. Always found it weird how Myles Anderson plays in Italy. I know he's in their equivalent of probably League 2 and the Conference but how did he even end up there? The sudden transfer to Chievo in Serie A a couple of seasons back stinks as well, as he's obviously not good enough. Surprised Vuckevic hasn't done anything after he left us (he's still only 30), he's one that at least arrived with a bit of pedigree having played for Sporting Lisbon for years and his country.
  11. It has more quality among the top teams; Barca, Real and Atletico are better than all Premier League teams. Will see more of Villareal in the next couple of weeks or so but they must be a really good team, then you've got Europa League kings Sevilla plus Valencia (not with Gaz Nev) etc.
  12. Aye, Olsson being dropped after 2 below par (that's all they were by the way, he didn't even play badly) performances, after winning POTY last season, wasn't on at all.
  13. And left-back Spurr said: “We’ve had three games like that now – Cardiff, Brighton and this one – and we could have had three wins and all of a sudden we’d have 10 points from our first five games rather than three. Or, much more conceivably, if Heskey had put that in on Friday and Conway's cross for Hanley against Cardiff was, for example, over-hit.....how many points would we have had then? Spurr's just grateful to be in the team.
  14. Listened to that 'fan' (in inverted commas as he only decided to go at the last minute and this was his first game of the season) too, they'd clearly lined him up beforehand as he was absolutely clueless.
  15. It is yep - although their u21's lost 1-0 to San Marino u21's last night so I'm not sure how promising their future's looking.....
  16. We haven't even scored against them yet this season, although hoofing the ball up to Shittu in both the cup games didn't help. 1-1 draw, although that could change depending on Saturday's result.
  17. Tragic. RIP
  18. Mihajlovic would probably be the better choice, he helped keep Bologna up last season and has done well with Catania this season. Di Carlo isn't really the kind of manager to lead Sampdoria into the Champions League, he's just a steady coach but no real experience of the top level.
  19. Could easily go wrong like Ferrara did at Juventus. Juve appointing Del Neri and Milan appointing Galli, they need more established names! Even though Del Neri has done very well at Chievo and Sampdoria when he took bigger jobs at Porto and Roma he was a failure.
  20. Yep he should have come on when Pedersen did, McCarthy has always looked dangerous when cutting in from the left hand side.
  21. Legend. RIP.
