  1. There you are; a nice and very civil Man. U. supporter. Some of those on here could learn from that.
  2. Well said that man! I for one agree with you (and Philipl, both posts). it is also a refreshing change to find a United fan who does at least post a fair opinion. Thank you for that.
  3. Italy neutral in WW2!!! They were part of the Axis and had been since 1937! I take it you did not study History at school RTM. Just for the record, in case there are any more under the same delusion: Italy, under the facist dictator Mussolini, were allies of the Germans right up to the time they surrendered in 1943.
  4. So I wasn't the only one who could not believe the level of sycophantic drivel being spewed out by both the commentators on the Sky presentation. Absolutely ridiculous and shameless bias; I really did wonder if they were watching the same match that I was. I genuinely have NEVER heard anything even remotely approaching that before. I dont dispute that United were the better side overall and always looked to be the eventual winners, but to just dismiss everything positive that Rovers did in the entire game, and at the same time to drool about United's every move, and several times suggest that Rovers players were acting unfairly and should be booked etc etc.....??? Absolutely disgraceful. I honestly would not have expected to hear such one sided bias if the commentary had come from M. U. T. V. And just to accentuate how bad it was. Did anyone else notice the different treatment the pundits on MoTD gave their extensive coverage of the match, and nobody can ever accuse those guys of being Rovers fans!!
  5. If we get Dunny back in January that will give us all the pace we need!! And it will ensure that we dont get overstocked in the pie dept as well
  6. You forgot to add that the winner for Mancs will be scored in the 5th minute of the 4mins added on to the 2nd half.
  7. Hmmmmm................I think I would want him for a bit longer than that!
  8. And whichever club Souness is managing at the time of course!
  9. That's a very good question; wish I knew the answer, but I don't. I have the same problem occasionally. Perhaps one of the more knowledgable posters could help us out with this one?
  10. It is the African Champions League he is talking about.
  11. No don't give up just yet Bob you are well ahead on points; you just need to find that one good clean knockout punch. Go for it!
  12. What for? To put the cat out?
  13. I can vouch for that Eddie. Not that I took very many in my short football career, but I always hit it very hard straight down the middle and I can't remember any occasion where a keeper made a save. They always dive one way or the other and hence move out of the way of stopping your shot.
  14. You are absolutely spot on there bazza. it is a pity that so many of the moaning minnies on here can't see it that way too. If every match was played like that one, with two good teams going flat out for a win and no cheating, that alone would go a very long way to winning back the stay-aways IMO.
  15. The attendance problem at Ewood is of course a matter for deep concern for us all. We discuss it at great length on this and other threads as well, and the conclusion that stares us all in the face is that there is no easy fix, no solution that any of us on here are able to implement or to do anything at all about. The hard truth of the matter is that it is not directly our problem at all. What do I mean by that? I mean that every one of us regular readers and contributors on BRFCS.COM is already a fully committed Rovers fan and we each of us do whatever lies within our power to alleviate the problem as far as we are able. And therein lies the crunch! We can do no more! The problem lies in somehow getting the stay-aways to come along to watch live games at Ewood, and we are not going to do that by incessant mulling over our various opinions as to what are the causes/solutions to the problem. It is not US that is at fault; it is the stay-aways and THEY are not members of this MB so THEY are never going to see any of this. The club, the local press, etc are the ones that should be taking this forward. By all means make our collected thoughts available to them via BRISA or however and then we have done almost as much as we can. The only other possibly helpful thing we could each do is to try and talk round any stay-aways that we come across in our daily lives, and get the message across that they dont know what they are missing by not being there to see the match live.
  16. Well said Scotty! You have just about summed up the whole game and everbody in it exactly as I saw it. Perhaps just one very small exception. I thought Bentley did a little more than just OK; not his best ever performance but certainly good.
  17. It makes sense simply because Franny HIT the ******** thing!!! The others ALL stroked it. By the way I think you meant to say Roberts, not Nonda didn't you?
  18. It's included in my Sky Sports package.....SKY Sports1 & 2, Sky Sports Extra, Eurosport, & British Eurosport.
  19. Yes, thanks for pointing that out Simon. Having been a Rovers fan for 60 years this month, I do understand that. My point however was, if the population of Blackburn and surrounding area is not much less now than then, were did they find the numbers that used to turn up for every home match? Almost half the entire population of Blackburn on occasions, with only a small percentage of them being away fans. And in addition those that did attend then were about 95% male adults and less than 1% female. The difference being boys under 14. Which must mean that very nearly every adult male in Blackburn used to be a Rovers fan and regular attender at Ewood. This impression was confirmed for me by the fact that in those days whoever you spoke to at work or on a bus,in the street or pub, the conversation was invariably about Rovers and their latest match which you could tell they had obviously been present at.
  20. If you think Ewood Park is dull Mr. M. you should come up to Scotland and sample the atmosphere at some of the SPL grounds. My local is East End Park, Dunfermline where I have been a regular attendee since 1980 on and off. There the average gate is around 4k and if the they make any response at all to what is happening on the pitch, it is usually a ripple of light hand clapping, reminiscent of a village green cricket match. I once made the mistake of bellowing out (as I and 1000's more do at Ewood) "COME ON YOU PARS". You should have seen the icy stares I got from all those around me. Talk about lowering the tone, and all that! The other grounds in the SPL are not too bad for atmosphere, but I guess that only Ibrox and Parkhead can equal Ewood.
  21. I am puzzled. Surely the population of Blackburn cant have fallen that much in the last 50 years. Back then it was not unusual to get attendances anywhere in high 30k's and for selected matches right up to the mid-50k's. I wonder why it has changed so much, considering we now have a Prem team playing lovely football and in Europe as well. There must be another reason; now what could it be? Maybe it's a cost problem? There aren't too many people in Jan's position where they could think that £15 is just a suitable tip for a waiter or a shoe-shine boy!
  22. I think that is absolutely the right thing to do. Well done FC Nancy!

  24. You really are a grumpy young woman/man Stella
  25. Steady on James, that is hardly a fair comment. You would have to be a real died in the wool thug to mix it with Rooney. Any normal bloke who has too much to drink would have absolutely no chance.
