  1. Hmm.. can't afford that either, really. Haven't seen Pompey since 'Arry came back, are they a physical side these days? Reid / Tugay would do, but that right wing is a problem atm.
  2. Good point that, with Emerton or Reid on the right Lucas does look more comfortable. But I still think he has underachieved a bit the last few matches, after having a good season overall.
  3. Sorry if this've been mentioned, but the LET reports that Savage and Neill escapes ban if they avoid yellow cards this weekend - and will get a two match ban if they get a yellow. This is absolutely crucial !!
  4. Same defence, not sure about the front two and the midfield four. PS: Recently discovered that Zura is just 25 years old (in 2006) - we should really keep playing him alongside the Admiral. Tugay away is a bit on and off, but I think I want him to start this match. Put Reidy on the right, and let Bentley play upfront with Bellers - or just sit on the bench. Sinama back in? Bellers' partner is hard to find these days.
  5. Tim Cahill Looks like United are going to sign a different Bermondsey Bully instead
  6. The way he talks about Sullivan almost reminds me of our "owner-critic" Vinjay - any link there? Jordan has more wit though, and obviously a better reason for criticising.
  7. More importantly, don't the FA have observers on games in the Premier League? It shouldn't be hard to observe, make a judgement and let the referees' effort decide what matches they are allowed to participate in the next month.
  8. Will be interesting to see what punishment the FA will give Jewell, he basically said the same thing Nelsen did..
  9. Big Sam: Don't sack Bruce Can't be ar$ed to read the article, but it's not really that surprising, Big Sam surely wants Bruce to stay until after their match tomorrow.
  10. Disappointing match, disappointing result. The dropping of Tugay was understandable because of the aggressive nature of this match, and I guess the same thing goes for Sinama - but Bentley didn't do anything today (he's a forward !!) and the same goes for Dickov. We do have the best centreback north of London though, another fantastic effort by Ryan Nelsen. Zura also did well today, as did Gray - but Neill didn't have the best of games. In midfield, Reid and Savage had a tough job with Kavanagh and Bullard closing them down well, but they performed okay. MGP had a lot of dangerous freekicks, and was more involved than the last few matches - but lacks pace. (Cue: Rover6) In a match like this, pace on the wings is so important! De Zeeuw really impressed against Bellers, and we needed a clumsy Finn and a blatant foul to score. That being said, MGP's goal in the first half shouldn't have been disallowed either. (neither the Wigan goal) Not sure whether to be happy or a bit annoyed with the result, we could easily have lost. Now we have to win at least one, preferably two games away from home.. EDIT: Roberts should've been sent off btw, and Filan deserved a card for his timewasting.
  11. MGP hopes to make the top four aswell, speaking to Norwegian newspapers: - Tottenham has the toughest schedule, Arsenal a little bit easier. They still have to play it though, and matches against relegation scrappers can be even tougher. If we win our four home matches, we will have 65 points - it's not impossible.
  12. Less passing, more goalscoring - the player we've missed !
  13. To be fair to Dunnie, he's played under Souness and Bruce - everyone can become injury plagued under those two. EDIT: Was about to make a suggestion for your "someone" Roverite, but I wouldn't want a lawsuit on this site
  14. I was initially trying to find a neat quote to put a behind and tell you what a great review this was. But feck it, it was all great - combine sarcasm and humour like that with great results and you have entertainment !
  15. People who know me knows my feelings on Dom Matteo, he's certainly not my favourite Rover. However, experienced players is helpful, so I don't hope we put all our hopes on youngsters for next season - selling Matteo, Amoruso, Gresko and Dickov isn't a big loss for the XI - but it does mean that e.g Taylor, McEveley, Gallagher, Derbyshire will have to step up if our first teamers injure themselves. Just a thought, it's not like I'm starting a partition for Matteo to stay, or Amoruso or Vratti for that matter.
  16. He looks like a pumpkin. A red one.
  17. We have an interesting record, no draws in the Prem since the Man City game late November.. a good sign, imo!
  18. The link works fine, downloaded and enjoyed the goal! You'll need a media player that can handle asf-files, like VLC media player.
  19. Looking forward to seeing this one on the telly, the roversradio men certainly raised my expectations.
  20. I know, it did come out a bit wrong.. but my point is, they do have some similarities, in terms of great physique and athletism. And I do stand firm on Reid having more potential to unleash, his long range passing is AT TIMES very good, and we've all seen his shots when he hits the target. He makes less mistakes than he did at first when joining the club, that's for sure- if he can continue that improvement then I think he'll become a great player for us.
  21. Not sure about that one, mum, Mourinho seems to have a soft spot for Duffer For what it's worth, Fozzer, even though I don't normally believe in so-called "reliable sources" - Duff does look bored, uninterested and very uninspired at Chelsea these days - so I believe you when you say he wants to leave. Doesn't mean it's going to happen though, a few kind words from Josie and a title can do magic for him I'm sure
  22. This is my favourite thread, ever!
  23. ''I have never, ever been beaten like that,'' Dunn told The Sun. There's a first time for everything.. better get used to it, if you're to stay in the Midlands
  24. I have to agree with BD on this one, I think we all underestimate Steven Reid a bit.. if he played in a different way, like e.g. Olivier Dacourt (former Leeds, now Roma): Simple passes all the way, give the ball to the more creative players as soon as you win it - Reid would be a great asset to any big team with his engine and his physique. However, he's shown he can pass aswell, and his pace with the ball going forward is fantastic. Which is why I think he can develop into a top drawer midfielder for us, Steven Gerrard does the same things Reid does, he just makes less mistakes and has more precision in his game. Mind you, Reid's still just 24 (?)..
  25. Also, he's said something in the lines of "I was never a big United-fan, like the media says, I've never even owned a shirt."
