Goodwillie has ended his loan my mutual consent according to this: http://www.thisiscroydontoday.co.uk/story-17090291-detail/story.html Hard to see a way back for him from this. Can Scottish clubs loan players on an emergency basis outside of the window?

As I said yesterday very pleased with this signing. BUT a 4 year deal really is ridiculous. I know we have to pull out the stops to bring Premiership players down a league but if we don't go up this season it will be frightening.
-
I think this would be a good signing for the Championship. IF we somehow do get up boy have we got some work on our hands next summer though!!!!

This has really irked me. Kean really is the Venky's blue eyed boy. He is going nowhere. Venkys are the biggest problem in all of this, how dumb can you get, being wrapped around the finger of that utter clown?!

Blaming Jensen. Kean really is a gutter dog. Were stuck with the bald bullsh#tter.

Absolutely tragic and puts football into perspective. A dark day for the club. RIP..my heart goes out to his family.

[Archived] Benni Mccarthy - Gone

That article is hilarious. "Sky Sports understand" that Benni wants to move to West Ham. To: "He has informed us" that he wants to go to them. -

Hardly suprising that he has said this - just didn't think that he'd be so public about it. I think we all knew that as soon as the Hammers made their interest public that Benni would want to be off in a heartbeat. He doesn't like Sam & Sam doesn't like him. Best for all concerned now just to meet halfway in the price difference and let him be on the way. I was hoping that Roberts would be sacrificed for Beattie. -

Tis true..as someone else mentioned I'm pretty sure Benni's runs out in 2011. I admit age has to be taken into consideration here but comon..if Beattie is worth £3 million then so is Benni. -

If true tell the new Chairmen where to go. We'd probably be given about half of that from the board so who would that get us? Some lower league journeyman maybe? -

I saw the same on sky sports dingles. What are they going on about?! A tiny bit of research by sky could have told them the booing was for sam taking him off - not in any way aimed at benni. -

Agreed Le Chuck - you summed up Roberts' Rovers career quite well there. IF Beattie or another striker did come then I'd much prefer it at the expense of Roberts than McCarthy. -
Marcus Trescothick tells in his autobiography how he did everything in his power to prevent his teamates from finding out the true extent of his illness. Fortunately for Marcus he is gradually winning his fight despite relapses. The story of Enke is much more tragic. Hopefully this will prompt more people with the illness to come forward at an earlier stage.

No doubt we'll get a Vince Grella interview on Friday saying how he's never felt better and can't wait to get stuck into Bolton. A day later we'll get the team news saying that Vince has a 'slight thigh strain' that will 'put him out for a couple of weeks'. -

I'd have been screaming 'get off the f***ing pitch' myself. -
Flipping heck..first John Barnes and now Ray Mathias. Tranmere fans must be wondering what the hell they've done wrong!!

[Archived] Zurab Khizanishvilli
G Somerset Rover replied to colin's topic in Football Messageboard Archive
I like Zurab and wish him the best if he does move on. He's a steady defender and never complained once despite being out of the team for the majority of the time. In this day and age that is rare, so fair play to Zura. He does seem a bit too laid back at times to be a centre half, but he always gave his best for us. -
Extremely saddened by this news. Respected by everyone in the game - he will be badly missed. RIP Bobby

The right result for football. Messia, xavi and iniesta had me on the edge of my seat throughout the game. The latter two dictated the tempo and showed united's midfield how it's done. -

The problem we have with Benni - aside from his attitude, is that if he doesn't start the match then he's useless as a sub. He's got to be the worst impact sub I have ever seen. Only once did he come on like a man possessed, and that was the Cup match against Arsenal. Even then he ran off like a spoilt child. If he's not starting, then there's no point in having him in the squad. If he really does not get on with Ince, and Ince clearly does not see him as a big part of his plans, then why weren't we snapping off Sunderland and Gala's hands to anything over £6 million? -
I agree with the above. I'm quite sure that if we were after Kaka then Nicko would be the first to report it. It's hardly his fault that we're after the likes of Fowler, Andrews and any player with two legs whose willing to come for a trial.

[Archived] Mark Hughes - Good Choice ?
G Somerset Rover replied to Ste B's topic in Football Messageboard Archive
Absoloutely not. Now that he looks as if he's not in the Chelsea running, he has two options, choose City or resign-and lets face it he's hardly going to do the latter. He's played his hand, and ultimately he's come up short. There's no coming back. You only need to read Warnock's words to see that he will have lost the faith of the dressing room. Also despite being a little git, what would Bentley and all of his other signings think? It's a sad end to a very good job, but Hughes has to do the honourable thing now and that is to realise his risk didn't pay off, but join City all the same. -

Don't fret Joey...Moko is back from International duty Better to have a full squad and all that though I guess -
No offence Graham because I do agree with alot of what you say, but if you're wanting rid of 'fancy dans' and players who aren't giving 110% then Benni should be one of the first players out.
