  1. Dear God, Adam Wharton. We have one special, special player on our hands. Fingernails are done, but worth it for those three points.
  2. Dirty bastard Madine. That’s off with VAR.
  3. So is Wharton! Could well be a bigger talent than Phillips this lad.
  4. Apart from his ability to close down, I too see very little in him. Just doesn’t have the brain or technique.
  5. They’re gunning for us from set pieces - going to need full concentration tonight from all 11.
  6. 😂😂😂😂 Unbelievable. Quite literally the first successful pass we’ve made in their half. Top finish from BBD.
  7. Can’t get out of our own third here. Don’t think Dack has had a touch. However JDT is preparing us for first halves - it ain’t bloody working.
  8. Yep - looking pretty dreadful yet again. Only passes we’re making are amongst the back four.
  9. Just remembered we’re on dreaded Sky tonight. Last season we were embarrassing across 95% of our matches on there. Let’s hope for better this season - starting with tonight.
  10. Massive night for Carter. We really need a settled run at the back soon - seem to have to chop and change every week. Really not keen on Dolan starting, but let’s hope he surprises me.
  11. First Brittain, now inevitably Ayala. We just don’t have the squad right now to cope with it. As others have said, I’d have thought Ayala would have struggled through until winter before taking his leave.
  12. This chap sums it up better than I could! https://twitter.com/GabSutton/status/1564697699022159872?s=20&t=5xnGZb3FMkfMqLjMt44y9Q Copy for those not on Twitter: Key thing with George Hirst is, don’t assume because he’s a 6’3” striker that he’s a target man. He’s a deft operator with excellent link-up play, but the service into him has to be precise and tailored rather than hopeful and speculative.
  13. I think we need to manage expectations here. From what I've read, despite his height he is not a target man and his style doesn't lend itself to playing really direct. He is supposedly pretty good at bringing others into play, running the channels and getting in the box. Let's hope he has some goals to go with his game!
  14. When it rains...loss of Brittain will be huge as we don't have any options other than Carter (untested at this level and naturally a CB, or Travis - our CM and captain). JRC is not an option. May put JDT off on going five at the back too, as I can't see how Carter could be a RWB.
  15. Third assist already this season. Mowbray’s use of him was criminal.
  16. O’Rourke seems to be breaking all our signings these days - must have a contact at the club. Behind Glen on this one of course!
  17. Really not good news given our lack of goals (and yes, I know he’s hardly full of them) and strikers. Makes bringing in a striker or two even more important ahead of Thursday.
  18. Yeah, it's extremely worrying re: Brittain as we quite literally do not have one alternative without pulling our captain out to the right side. Got to hope it's just a knock / small strain.
  19. QPR fans look to have the party poppers at the ready. Stay clear!
  20. What a massive waste of time that pursuit of SVDB was.
  21. Pete O’Rourke deserves a break from a couple on here too - it was him or broke the news last week. IMO he’s usually there or thereabouts with Rovers.
  22. As BBD’s replacement or regardless of what happens to him? A Prem loan as a replacement for BBD would be standard under this lot.
  23. Yep - we need to stop p*ssing about and bring in Styles. He’d be perfect as a LWB if we are to go three at the back. It’s a no brainer.
  24. Rock bottom for shots on/off target, and chances created is hugely concerning. Some heads at the club need a massive wobble before Thursday if they think three signings - two of which are CB’s - will be enough.
