  1. Not far off the Goodwillie/Rooney and other comparisons that the evil snake used to make.
  2. Did you know he can cut back, and whack it on his left peg in the top corner? More waffle here: https://www.lancashiretelegraph.co.uk/sport/19984841.blackburn-rovers-no-january-transfer-window-regrets-tony-mowbray/ I’ve posted it in the Bristol City thread, but he’s admitting here that he he signed Hedges despite him not fitting the system.
  3. As I say above though, let’s wait to see if he goes yet. For what it’s worth I imagine he’ll still be here next season!
  4. Jeez, thanks for that @tomphil- I had somehow missed yesterday’s pre-match presser waffle til now. This one sticks out re Hedges: “He’s generally been playing deeper, wide on the right for Aberdeen, in a different system.” Two things: for those who claim he is a ‘forward/striker’ which I’ve seen countless times on social media, he is not. Our own manager has admitted it. Second, why are we signing players for positions that they’ve not played in, at best, for years? ‘Sign players for the system’ I thought, Tony? Lack of recruitment strategy yet again and more BS from our manager.
  5. If we can’t beat this lot at home, even without BBD, then we may as well all pack up, go home and wait for next season.
  6. He also didn’t rate Matt Jansen.
  7. He ain’t there yet Arbitro. They’ve pulled that plan once or twice before.
  8. We’re screwed irrespective of Mowbray thanks to our owners. The club is a shambles off the pitch and it’s showing zero signs of improving a decade on. It’ll catch up with us big time soon - unless by a miracle we go up this season - and my bet is on next year. Crap pitch, half the squad off in the summer, our two bob recruitment team, lack of investment. Could easily go on. I want Mowbray long gone if we don’t go up, but until we have new owners who actually care and can organise us off the pitch, we’ll never be remotely successful.
  9. What a bloody opportunity...if only we had someone who could put the ball in the back of the net.
  10. It does look like the Championship is one level above his ability, and I posted it in the match thread last night, but at least he tried a couple of efforts from the edge of the area. The rest of them could be there til Christmas and not pull the trigger.
  11. IF he were ever fit I'd genuinely be putting Ayala up top for the final 20-30 mins of matches (at least) and just ask Giles to whip balls into the box. It's a better tactic than we're presently going with.
  12. We all know the script here don't we? What frustrates me so much about our lack of goals is the clear lack of set piece training. How are we so poor at them?! When you can't score from open play like us, yet you're tight at the back, set pieces present our best chance of points. Rothwell, Giles and Khadra - all often outswingers, or short corners which lead to zilch. It's tinpot. An Allardyce would have turned so many of these 0-0's and 0-1's into 1-0's and 1-1's.
  13. Oh he'll bring in some forwards alright. Wide forwards/winger types with under 10 career goals to their name.
  14. This is the statement that winds me up too. Just because we didn't need to mix things up from Nov-Dec, it was so obvious that we we would need a plan B from the turn of the year when results stuttered and the inevitable injuries begun to pile up. Just because we didn't play with an out and out striker before, doesn't mean we shouldn't have brought one in to compete, demand his place in the side, and you know, score those things called goals (which nobody else is capable of outside of BBD). Let's not also forget that the likes of Hedges and Giles aren't used to playing as wide forwards. Giles has been playing LWB at Cardiff and Hedges is a true winger. Markanday was the big unknown, but until a few months ago he'd never played up front in his life either.
  15. Who is scoring our three (minimum) goals over the next three matches then? Three points, let alone nine, is not a done deal when we’ve scored one in eight.
  16. Dembele isn’t a striker either. He would have joined the wide forward club along with the countless others that we currently have on our books.
  17. Feels like I’ve been so caught up in the lack of goals that this latest death spiral hasn’t been front of mind. The one goal in eight quite obviously equates to one win in eight (3 in 12 and so forth). We thought the rot had stopped after QPR but this latest death spiral is rolling on.
  18. Pretty sure it was Buckley missing yet another absolute sitter.
  19. I don’t blame you. Fair play to anyone shelling out for a ticket at the minute knowing full well we sure as sh*t won’t be scoring.
  20. Updated: 3 goals in 12, 1 in the last 8 and no open play goal for 700+ minutes. It’s indefensible yet as above, nobody is bringing him to task on it.
  21. Well you need to practice them to be effective and Mowbray has admitted in the past that we don’t. On a side note whilst Hedges looked poor fair play to him for trying to have a couple of pops. No other bugger was even contemplating it.
  22. Such a pointless signing if you don’t have a Kieffer Moore up front. Whoever’s fault it is that we didn’t land a true striker in January - and it looks as though it’s Mowbray - should face a public flogging. No exaggeration to say it’s very likely going to cost us a premier league place.
  23. Furious with that tonight. Yet again we could play til Christmas and not score. ONE goal in EIGHT matches. ONE!!! FFS, it’s absolutely diabolical.
  24. No goals. Again. What a shock!! Just the one goal in 7.5 games now…
  25. Left footed Giles at RW and 6'4 Gallagher at LW according to Sharpe. Jesus wept.
