  1. A few of our old boys can surely dig deep here.
  2. I know TM likes a square peg in a round hole but Hedges cannot be the Rothwell replacement as they’re two completely different players. Expect Hedges to largely play out wide or in the false 9 role.
  3. We simply cannot allow that to happen tomorrow. Surely Rothwell only leaves IF we get a decent replacement over the line. Like you though, nothing would surprise me under this administration.
  4. Last night reflecting on this I kept thinking back to Rothwell’s very muted celebration against Cardiff. Yes there were no fans there, but something didn’t look right. I don’t get how some are pinning this on Mowbray. Nobody knows what’s happened behind closed doors but I get the sense that Rothwell can’t have been busting a gut to play yesterday when his teammates desperately needed him.
  5. Indeed. Especially when we could barely field a bench and had every attacker either injured or pick one up during the game.
  6. Good shout. Different types of players though. A Swift and O’Brien combo would be unreal for this league!
  7. Got chatting to a Barnsley fan at work the other day about Hedges. Said he was often a bit part player for them and always performed better from the bench. The clamour would build for a start and then he would flatter to deceive. Sounds like they were keen on him sticking around but he saw himself as a starter. He knows a fair bit about Blackburn my friend and he has high doubts he has the quality needed for a promotion chasing team. However he did cite previous ex Barnsley players in Arma and Rothwell as being successes at us that Hedges could follow!
  8. Not a bad list - I think we need a bit of experience rather than replacing him with a Mcatee for example though (I wouldn’t be against signing him, just not straight in for Joe). I’d add Grimes to that list; I read Fulham were in for him for £2.5m in the summer. He’s got experience, passing range, leadership - pretty much everything we’d want. Pity the pit wasn’t bottomless as O’Brien at Hudds is probably the best CM in the league.
  9. Another headache that we now have is Edun apparently left the stadium in a protective boot. We’ll surely be needing a left back in if he’s out for any period with Pickering a few weeks off. When it rains.
  10. Never underestimate how stubborn our owners are, pal.
  11. I don’t understand any of the ‘fair enough Rothwell’ chat. If Brentford have come in with a bid, great for him, but don’t let your teammates down when we’re fighting tooth and nail for promotion and have no attacking players to call upon. Play today, give it your all, and then see what happens before Monday.
  12. That better bloody be the case as if it’s Arma all over again then I’ll be fuming.
  13. I’m sorry but there’s ways to go about it. You don’t act like that when we can barely cobble together a squad for such an important game. F*ck yourself, Joe.
  14. FFS Joe. Four months mate. I hope his teammates are giving him grief. He’s really let us down today given how depleted we were.
  15. You take a point given we’re not far off half of our B team out there, but it’s tough to take with Bournemouth and QPR winning. Simply have to bring in 2-3 decent players by Monday evening. Anything less isn’t good enough.
  16. Absolutely crucial couple of days now if we’re serious about promotion. Time to sh*t or get off the pot. We cannot rely on the likes of Butterworth to turn matches.
  17. Bad day immediately around us with QPR and Bournemouth winning. Ismael will surely get the pot at WBA. Unfortunately.
  18. I think he’d be worth getting on for his set play aerial ability alone. It’s our only sniff today.
  19. Gally, BBD, Dack, Khadra, Dolan, Poveda, Rothwell - all attacking players either injured or unavailable. Not to mention our two left backs are crocked. It’s unbelievable!
  20. We’re just getting so unfortunate with injuries. We can barely get an attacker on!! Dirty b*stards. COYB
  21. Someone has to get at Bell, as we know, he’s sh*te. Chapman maybe?! Today would be a fantastic day for a tight 1-0 win.
  22. Set piece is our only chance today I reckon. Simply have no flair or match winners in the side.
  23. Could do with 3 with Bournemouth and QPR winning. I still reckon we’ll take this 1-0.
  24. Reading are diabolical. QPR 2-0 so will surely get the 3 points today.
  25. Jeez - we could fill a hospital ward at the moment!!! Thank God we’re not playing for another week.
