Not sure, but the fact we haven't come from behind to beat an opponent in the Championship since October 2014 is absolutely damning. Similarly I believe we haven't come from behind to win in any league match in something like two years - last time was during the L1 campaign. We have a topic on here talking about character because it's so obvious we have none, and I think that's been the case for a lot longer than just Mowbray's tenure. It's been pretty much a staple of the club since Venky's arrived and put Steve Kean in charge. Whatever is broken may not be fixable - it may just be that the owners' apathy and neglect trickles through the entire club and has a knock on effect which can sometimes be stifled but never completely erased. If so then we can swap managers over and over and the result will ultimately be the same. We have to hope that isn't the case though - as Venky's don't appear to be going anywhere - so instead we can only rely on finding a massive overachiever with enough determination and courage to overpower the curse the owners have put on the club. Would be some luck finding that guy though, especially with our so called "board" leading the search, and chances are that person's characteristics would cause another Lambert-like departure when they realised the scale of the mountain they would need to climb to achieve anything worthwhile here.

Oh you can absolutely guarantee that. A win at Preston and it wouldn't surprise me if the poll swings back to 70/30.

I don't necessarily disagree, but at the same time there are some very concerning stats going back a number of years which suggest something is fundamentally broken at a core level of the club. At the very least we need to fix this, even if it isn't through a total overhaul.

No surprise when you consider one of only two players who scored regularly for us from open play last season has been benched for a gangly-limbed bloke wearing an alice-band and/or Adam Armstrong. Meanwhile the player we relied on for set-piece goals (10 last season) was gift-wrapped to Wigan without being replaced.

Tbf Bowyer brought in Duffy, Cairney, King, Conway, Gestede, Spurr and a few other decent purchases. Granted he made some real cock ups too, but most of those came after the plug had been completely pulled financially and we were left scraping the very bottom of the barrel.

Agreed. Most of Bowyer's purchases were for less than what we paid for Dack when we were in League 1.

Did Bowyer perform significantly (or any) worse than Mowbray? Better squad maybe but he also placed them far higher, albeit short of the goal. I can't help but think even if Mowbray had GB's best squad he'd still find a way to mire us in mid-table. Rhodes and Gestede on the wings with Cairney playing a false 9.

Weirdly I'd be more confident if we were playing one of the better teams in the division. We're capable of pulling out surprise results against those kinds of team, because our sit back, contain and try to nick a goal tactic is perfect for that kind of opponent. It's opponents similar to ourselves that we struggle with the most.

Kean's approach to football wasn't cowardly though, imo anyway, it was just haphazard and clueless. I don't think it makes sense to compare the two in terms of their approach to games as Kean didn't seem to be pragmatic/overcautious/overthinking/fearful of the opposition at all. If he had been then he might actually have been more successful. Probably not though. You are absolutely within your rights to express your view on the usage of the words "coward/cowardly", but at the same time I think it would be ridiculous to try to censor or discourage their usage in regards to describing players or managers. I don't think it's generally considered that offensive, as there are far, far worse things said regularly outside of the BRFCS bubble. If that's the worst we have to put up with then we don't have to worry too much. I certainly don't consider it anywhere close to the level of calling fellow fans racist for criticism of a poor player, but of course you are also within your rights to believe it is similar, as long as there aren't any personal insults towards other posters involved. Yes, absolutely. Have said many times that I think TM is a decent enough person (despite questionable treatment of certain younger players). I don't consider the word "cowardly" in a footballing context to be in any way offensive, as it's usage is fairly common when describing defensive tactics and styles of management. It is not meant in the same derogatory way as it would be when aimed at a person's overall character. Considering some of the things that I've seen written about TM on here and elsewhere I'm genuinely stunned that my fairly innocuous post has caused such a stir! But passionate debate is still fine by me as long as it doesn't stray into personal attacks.

I don't think we have a single top half of the table defender in our ranks to be honest, other than Cunningham who is now done for the season. Combine that with Mowbray's style of football and it's not hard to see why we're struggling to maintain any level of consistency.

I'm calling his approach to football cowardly, not the man himself. I don't know enough about him on a personal level to make that judgement. Would be happy to explain to TM the reasons behind my thoughts on why his approach seems cowardly, and I dare say he'd engage me in some interesting conversation about the subject as he seems like a pretty balanced person.

Highlights one of Mowbray's biggest weaknesses - his lack of confidence in his own players. Rather than trust in his own methods and the players he's assembled, he spends his time desperately figuring out ways to combat the opposition to the point of total madness, as with the quote above. Preparing for the opposition a few days before the game, fine. A scatterbrain approach over two months to rotate multiple players and systems just to confuse the opposition - not fine, because our players are likely to be just as confused! TM over-complicates things to a ridiculous degree. His lack of courage and cowardly fear of every team we come up against is why we will never, ever be promoted with him at the helm.

I reckon Rowett could get them above us if TM stays to be honest.
