  1. If they're calling it "Wednesday Night Dynamite" and it's airing on TNT then yeah, explosions are a must. Also some good music please. Raw and Smackdown have completely removed their intros nowadays so it would be another way to differenciate from the competition if they had an awesome intro package.
  2. I assume Hanley is now the primary target to sort this out, although we conceded plenty of goals with him at the back too.
  3. Hopefully it's a good show! Loving this... Obviously no chance of AEW using anything like this as WWE would sue them into oblivion, but this intro was so simple yet so great.
  4. Hanley certainly would, but I fear Gallagher would end up on the wing as that seems to be the common theme with Mowbray and strikers.
  5. My biggest concern so far is that we've seen very few links to new players. It's either players we've been linked to in the past, former Rovers players or cast offs from Tony's previous clubs. We supposedly have a scouting network, so hopefully we're just keeping things quiet. It's still somewhat early days but we're about to enter July with nothing obvious on the horizon in terms of player recruitment other than the possible return of Grant Hanley.
  6. Personally I would already have rescinded the offer. He obviously has talent, but not enough to treat him like some kind of special case. If he'd rather be on holiday than with the squad preparing for the season then thanks and good luck elsewhere. He didn't have enough impact last season to warrant anything else.
  7. I really hope they appoint Roy Keane. That would certainly make things interesting.
  8. Yeah, and in League 1 he did it with Antonsson too. This strange obsession with turning strikers into wide midfielders needs to stop.
  9. Last summer and the January transfer window weren't exactly great, so it's fair for people to be a little nervous at the moment imo. Last summer we signed Rothwell, Armstrong, Davenport and Rodwell. I'd only class Armstrong as a minor success at the moment. Rothwell only started to have influence when the season was dead and Mowbray had nothing to lose by playing him, Rodwell only appeared sporadically with mixed results, and Davenport didn't play at all. Palmer, Reed and Brereton came in as loans which looked good on paper but ultimately only Reed had any impact and he was almost always played out of position. Palmer obviously never fit into TM's plans so not really sure why we signed him in the first place, and I'm not even going to go into Brereton. January saw Chapman come in, Downing leave, and that was it. It's entirely possible that the likes of Rothwell, Brereton, Davenport and Chapman will come good this season and retrospectively make these windows seem a lot better, but we didn't sign anybody that immediately improved us - except Reed. Mowbray now has to prove he can sign players who can have an instant impact and come straight into the first team, as we've already done plenty of signings for the future. He also needs to avoid signing players and then proceeding to play them out of position, as he did with Armstrong (striker shoehorned into a winger/wide mid), Brereton (striker shoehorned into a winger/wide mid), Palmer (attacking mid shoehorned into a winger/wide mid), Rothwell (attacking midfielder shoehorned into a winger/wide mid), Rodwell (midfielder shoehorned into centre back), and Reed (centre mid shoehorned into a winger/wide mid). Granted Rodwell can play CB (although not especially well) and Rothwell was used every so often in his proper position, but even so... sign players to play in their natural positions and stop trying to convert everybody into a wide midfielder/winger please, Tony.
  10. If so then we aren't looking at a player who is destined for the odd cameo off the bench.
  11. I noted last season that Rodwell seems to be the type of player who is alright when things are going well, but has no impact on a game that is going the wrong way. I'd have no problem with him moving on.
  12. Have to agree. At the very least Smallwood is a lower level Championship player, and unless that's where we want to be he needs to be moved on. Nothing but respect for his attitude and commitment, he was a fantastic driving force in the first half of our L1 campaign, but we need better quality across the entire squad if we're serious about getting promoted.
  13. Haha, yeah, it's all very... Japanese. You'd never see that kind of stuff in a Western style game, but somehow they make it work. It's actually kind of amazing to me how popular Persona 5 has been with mainstream gamers. The game is engulfed in animé tropes and the general story is very typical of that kind of artform, so I didn't think it would gain the kind of traction it's experienced. It's way more popular than any of the previous Persona instalments.
  14. A good player for this level who would probably be in our reach on loan, not sure if we'd be in a position to sign him permanently though.
  15. Eh, didn't seem to be a problem for Armstrong or Chapman tbf. Granted there didn't seem to be much competition for them but if Hanley is on our "maybe" list then there probably isn't too much for him either - and if there is then somebody will offer £5k a week more and we'll miss out, so, it doesn't matter anyway.
  16. Mowbray said Hanley had been "talked about" but suggested he wasn't on the A list. Although history suggests that makes him more rather than less likely to sign.
  17. Staying at Ipswich by the looks of it. He had a very inconsistent season for them, even went through a period of not being selected, so it's to be determined whether he can make the step up from League 1 permanently. Obviously he was playing in a very poor team so you have to take that into account, but sometimes he couldn't get into that poor team, so... who knows. There were reports that he was a target for Hull, but that was before Adkins left, so that might be dead in the water now. I wouldn't be averse to signing him as I fear Chapman will only be able to play a bit part role this season and Downing seems more suited to the centre these days. He could be a shrewd capture. If he has a good season next year in L1 for Ipswich his price will undoubtedly shoot up, especially if they get promoted.
  18. With Chapman's injury record I don't think we can rely on him to be a consistent starter for the entire season. If we get 20 games out of him then that'll be a good haul considering his recent history. Graham has been great for us, but he has to start declining at some point. At 33 his form could crash just as quickly as Mulgrew's did last season. Armstrong and Rothwell both have potential but it's yet to be proven that either of them can be a consistent threat. Downing has just been released from a club that couldn't even get into the playoffs so I'm not expecting much from him, especially at his age. Brereton looks far from ready to contribute regularly. Samuel is a League 1 player. Dack is the jewel in the crown for sure, but he has his own problems with consistency (exacerbated, imo, by Mowbray's sludgy style of play). That said if he left there would be a huge gap to fill in terms of goals and assists. I don't see enough in our team right now to challenge for the playoffs, particularly taking Mowbray's abilities as a manager into account. We've got enough to finish mid table again, but I don't expect any more than that without some serious improvements.
  19. Downing is a solid L1 player and possibly a competent backup CB for a smaller team in this division. Always had a good attitude and performed to the best of his ability, so good luck to him.
  20. There are so many awesome and interesting directions they could go in, but you know they won't pick any of those. He'll come out and Michael Cole will start hollering about Wyatt being "evil" or "creepy" or whatever, whilst attaching whatever nickname they give him, assuming they don't stick with the "eater of worlds" moniker. He'll probably end up getting fed to Roman Reigns after being Shane McMahon's lackey for a couple of months, then start literally chasing whoever is holding the 24/7 title by then. Maybe Ramblin' Rabbit will win it and Bray will start feuding with the puppet.
  21. Definitely redo it mate, the game is worth it. If you need any other advice then feel free to ask, I've sunk about 200 hours into the game through a couple of playthroughs. As long as you save regularly and get the palaces done as soon as possible you should be golden. Oh, and make sure you talk to the two girl wardens and get their social link started. I found out the hard way during my first playthrough that if you don't then you are unable to fuse the higher level personas
  22. The only other heel they're putting any effort into is Baron Corbin of all people. Their obsession with Corbin is bizarre. Sure, he gets heat, but it's definitely "go away" heat as opposed to genuine heel heat. He's really boring and nobody wants to see him main eventing. I actually like Corbin as a character, he's very very good at being a sleazy heel, but I just have no interest in him as an in-ring performer. It's the same way with Elias. Great character, but boring in the ring. Back in the Attitude Era they knew how to protect these kinds of wrestlers so that they weren't exposed in the ring and still got over as characters, but they have no idea how to do that now. The booking is just so insanely bad. Look at Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn. Two of the best in ring performers AND characters in all of wrestling, and yet WWE has utterly ruined both of them and somehow made the pair of them boring. It's incredible. You just know they would both shine in AEW, as would Balor, Samoa Joe, Daniel Bryan, and various other wrestlers that WWE has neutered over the years. What's galling is that NXT proves there are some people in WWE who know what they're doing, but as Dean Ambrose said, that's because it's missing one major problem - Vince McMahon. I dread the day Bray Wyatt returns to Raw and/or Smackdown. You know that as soon as the Firefly Funhouse vignettes end and Wyatt is back on TV they will destroy all the momentum he's built up. He might even end up being the special referee on Sunday. Speaking of bad booking decisions - how does a HEEL appointing a special ref to screw the babyface make people want to buy a PPV? Especially when it's somebody like Corbin who people don't want to see in the main event anyway, let alone as champion. It makes no sense. Who gave Corbin the authority to appoint the ref anyway? Vince? Stephanie? Linda? Triple H? None of them have been on TV regularly as of late and none of them have shown anything to suggest they even like Corbin. They stripped him of his general manager position and blamed him for ratings tanking, ffs. Now suddenly he's being allowed to appoint special referees and has title matches? I appreciate asking for continuity in WWE is a bit much, but even so, this is just so senseless.
  23. You can add fused personas to the compendium as well, I'm sure mine went in automatically but I honestly can't remember. I also had about four save states going at once just in case something happened that I couldn't get out of.
  24. No chance of either happening unfortunately. They've done such a horrific job of creating new stars that they don't have anywhere near enough to sustain interest in two separate brands. In the past they might just let Smackdown wither on the vine, but with FOX looking over their shoulders in preparation for October they have had no choice but to effectively end the brand split with the stupid wild card rule to try and pull viewers across to both Raw and Smackdown. The funny thing is that even with all the top stars across both brands, it still isn't working, and both shows are continuing to tank at a scary rate. The long and short of it is that they have no real stars - Reigns is the best they have and he's no John Cena. The can't rely on Attitude Era stars to come back to pop a rating because they're either too old to go or just don't have the same appeal with WWE's core audience as they did 10-15 years ago. Factor in the disgustingly bad creative direction of the company and it's little wonder they're circling the drain from a viewership perspective. Cutting the third hour is a no go as they would need to boost the Raw rating to at least a 3.0 to offset the money lost from advertising revenue - and there's no chance of Raw hitting a 3.0 again any time in the near future.
  25. You may be able to buy those personas back from the compendium if you have enough money. That said I can't remember if you actually have access to the compendium that soon in the game... possibly not.
