January Transfer window 2022
alcd replied to chaddyrovers's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
Rothwell has previously missed matches with a back injury so its not a foregone conclusion that he's pulling a fast one. -

As with Armstrong any Brereton sale is likely to be after the accounting date for FFP so won't be included in this season's accounting period. Also the net reduction in squad size and reduced wages for the incomers is unlikely to shave more than a couple of million off the loss. -
Beware the new manager bounce particularly as any change is likely to take place just before we play them

I don't believe there is any leeway whatsoever in the FFP calculations. The trainIng ground "profit" only keeps the loss to about the £13m level of the previous season. This seasons loss can be expected to be around £13m even after the c£10m profit om Armstrong. There is no scope for a sizeable transfer fee if the 3 season aggregate loss is to kept below the £39m limit. -

That "back injury" seems a bit coincidental? -
Under-23s are winning 4-0 with 10 mins to go.

Mowbray does not like him. -

Might as well make use of Chapman as Burton Albion is the only other club he can play for this season. He needs to impress someone if he wants to maintain his current income after June. -

It is very unusual for a player to have such a serious injury without going to ground at any time and to walk off the pitch at the end. Conspiracy theorists can have a field day. -

He could be one of the Covids mentioned on Thursday. -

Nyambe phoned in his contribution last night. Utterly disinterested he barely went through the motions. He might be an athlete but there is a lack of basic ball skills or intelligence. After nearly 5 years of supposed development he is still barely adequate for the Championship. Now he has clearly lost any motivation for this club he needs to be moved in January. -

Mowbray would still be there after a 0-10 defeat which it could easily have been. -

Brockhall STC - planning permission application ?
alcd replied to Mattyblue's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
It's unlikely that a sale for £16m will generate a significant profit by reference to the carrying value in the accounts. -
Brockhall STC - planning permission application ?
alcd replied to Mattyblue's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
Absolutely. This appears to be about ensuring that on a sale of BRFC plc the STC is omitted so they can exploit its residential development value. And as a site no longer used by the football club, there is likely to be much less difficulty in securing planning permission. -
Brockhall STC - planning permission application ?
alcd replied to Mattyblue's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
The sale of the site does not generate any cash. Neither does the issue of new shares. Only the sale of Armstrong. Whatever the reason for the intra-group transfer it has absolutely nothing to do with generating any income. -
Premier League season 21/22
alcd replied to chaddyrovers's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
If Newcastle succeed in signing the top players their fans are hoping and expecting, how will the club comply with the FFP rules as slack as they are in the EPL? Everton were limited to spending virtually nothing this summer having spent about £500m in the last 3 years. That's peanuts compared to the spend required to break into the top 4. Part of the motive behind FFPwad to pull up the drawbridge on those outside the existing elite. Toon fans and their club's obnoxious owners will need to very patient as this looks like a minimum 5 year project. However it should get them out of their immediate trouble and pile more pressure on the Dingles 😁 -
Saw him score in a 5-2 win for Rovers at Ewood in March 1965. He lived about 100 yards along the road from me in the mid-90s. Last saw him in the local Coop looking extremely overweight a couple of weeks before he had a massive stroke.

Probably means that Ayala pulled his groin getting out of bed and Magloire is off somewhere on loan. -

Obafemi has similar career profile. Diminutive striker has a few appearances in PL (Jackson at Norwich) but with negligible scoring record. At least Jackson cost nowt whereas despite the smoke and mirrors being applied to the Southampton deals it's clear Obafemi is valued in 7 figures. -

It's an ankle injury so probably related to the ankle injury that caused him to miss the second half of last season. You can rely on Mowbray to sign a crock. -

Obafemi has a terrible record with hamstring injuries, missing large parts of the 18/19 and 19/20 seasons then having surgery earlier this year for a "leg muscle" injury. Any other club would steer well clear but Mowbray.......
