  2. He’s a good shout Gav but if Gerrard is interested that will be that I think.

  5. I’m off to see Al Stewart’s last ever UK gig next week in Glasgow. Reports from earlier shows are that him and his backing band have been excellent.
  6. Elvis Costello and the Attractions - Tears Before Bedtime
  7. Gerrard returning seems to be the preferred option among the bluenoses

  10. Exactly! If anything could provoke a full Ewood, this should. A bit of creative thinking and we could actually turn this into a massive positive, a galvanising moment.
  11. They certainly wouldn’t have been playing silly sideways passes on the edge of their box on a sodden pitch (which in my view was a deliberate ploy to get the game off).
  12. And also I think both teams actually agreed to replay the game in full.
  13. Yes. Either that or the Norwich rep wants to award the three points to Rovers and has challenged Risible Risdale to a game of rock, paper, scissors to decide things.

  15. The problem is you can't get two points in a game in the EFL. There will be room for complaint (for someone) whatever they decide to do, but this would initiate legal battles that the league would probably lose. Nothing in the rules allows for this to happen, however pragmatic it may appear to be.
  16. From the wrong side of the Pennines but RIP Dickie Bird, who has died at the age of 92.
  17. A full replay would just be like any other EFL game - 90 minutes 11 v 11 and at Ewood Park. The logistics/practicalities of playing such a shortened match (fans v behind closed doors, if fans, what to charge, when, where etc etc - it is unprecedented in English football as far as I know)
  18. I saw someone else suggest this. Pragmatic as it sounds, it simply isn't an option and I dare say would leave the EFL even more wide open to challenge from other clubs than either of the three choices they do actually have. If either Rovers or Ipswich (or both!) were to scrape promotion/a play off place or avoid relegation by 1 point the clubs that suffer will scream blue murder.
  19. Someone I know who is well connected in football admin circles is pretty certain they are considering “something other than a full replay”, else they would simply have announced the decision by now. I don’t know how much of this is guesswork and assumption on her part but the EFL reps met last night and you would think if the decision was to replay the game that would be announced quickly. I’m wondering whether they want to discuss the practicalities of replaying the last 15 minutes, 11v10, with the clubs?
  20. Or it could be the other way round and they might have injuries while our new players have gelled.
  21. I understand the ‘committee’ is meeting to discuss it tonight. So we may hear something tomorrow I guess.
  22. It’s not an option though and I’m sure other clubs in the league would baulk at that solution anyway.
