I thought a Davenport was one of the few players settling the ball in the first half. Why he went off at half i don get. Like Naymbe for Elliot, it made no sense. Was SG playing center back there for 5 min? on another note I cannot stand how timid Douglass is going forward. Many times he has space in front of him. A good attacking defender would put the defense on their heels, but he always holds it up. We’re really quite boring in the attack. Rarely get to the byline and never play penetrating balls. Hell 1/2 the time we get it inside the box then look to play it backwards. The back four was a complete disaster. Why Branthwait wasn’t subbed for the city kid I don’t get it’s just all really difficult to watch and looks like a ship without a rutted.

If he hasn’t figured it out by now what makes you think this is the match to do it. -

Bennett can’t play any positions well though. -

“I'm at a stage now where I have some really tough decisions to make," Mowbray admitted. " Because Elliott Bennett and Corry Evans are now back available” Lord help us if those two make selection decisions difficult. -

I think I’m just missing the part of the match where we’re cheering and together in pulling for the lads. Sure we always questioned the play, the manager, or the line up at the pub over a ping before the match. And after critique the play, but in between there was loyal devotion. Now with the only banter on this forum it seems as though it’s only the criticism and negativity... I coulnt help but feel that had we been at the match there would have been more cheers, support and excitement over getting the result. A message board is never going to replicate that feeling. And in the end I like talking about what a donkey SG is or whether AA is greedy, but miss the parts where we’re all pulling for the lads even if we’re critical of them -

In the end, like the manager or not...think AA is overrated or not. We should all pull for the lads and the team. If they fail (again) when we’re near the top 6 then ask questions. -

I’m not sure they’ll move him down...with the quality of officiating at this level they may give him an award for only missing one obvious call. -

If he says he saw it and didn’t think it was a foul/penalty/card he’d have to be sacked on the spot -

In the FA Laws under indirect free kick you have: PLAYING IN A DANGEROUS MANNER Playing in a dangerous manner is any action that, while trying to play the ball, threatens injury to someone (including the player themself) and includes preventing a nearby opponent from playing the ball for fear of injury. A scissors or bicycle kick is permissible provided that it is not dangerous to an opponent. Under cautionable offenses commits in a reckless manner a direct free kick offenses under sending off offenses: A tackle or challenge that endangers the safety of an opponent or uses excessive force or brutality must be sanctioned as serious foul play. so could be a red or yellow depending upon perspective I guess -

One of my teammates back in 96 looked like this after an errand bicycle kick in the box. Hope he bounces back. I know my mate shied away from contact for a good while afterward. Back then though no one would have even considered it a card. -

So every high boot should be a sending off then? It was reckless but not use of excessive force or brutality. -

In order to be a red it would have to be violent conduct, deny an obvious goal scoring opportunity or be considered a serious foul play(uses excessive force or brutality must be sanctioned as serious foul play). The high boot doesn’t warrant any of those. -

Clearly a PK, never violent conduct or even serious foul play. It’s a reckless challenge. Should have been cautioned but Warnock is having a laugh if he thinks it should have been a red -

Warnock can fuck off. Never a red. It’s a PK and a yellow. The lad was playing the ball and the attacker lowered his head. Reckless sure, but never violent conduct, and didn’t prevent an obvious goal scoring opportunity. -

Many saying we didn’t play well until we scored must not have watched the first 15 min. Prior to the high boot we had them pinned back and looked to be the most likely to score. We had good movement and we’re doing well to make chances. I think the lack of the penalty call and the long pause for treatment took the momentum out of the side. After that, we were no where to be found for the rest of the half. Branthwaite in particular looked a bit shaken..Giving away what was Boros best chance with a bad giveaway top of the box on his next touch. Buckley never should have been the next man on when Johnson went off. Should have been Dack or Brereton with Rothwell moving inside. Shocking decision really. In fact I’m not sure he shouldn’t go out on loan to get more time and improve his strength. Set pieces are still a problem on both ends. We never look to threaten and look to concede. -

3 points and a clean sheet always a welcome site...even if an obvious penalty against went unnoticed. Dack looked good when he came on. Armstrong should have put the match away twice. Dougless still looks to be a liability in back. All in all a bit of a snore fest
