The most positive way to look at this upcoming season for Vi is when the goal is to develop the youth and stay in the championship, Sheffield Wednesday’s not paying their players and Hulls not paying their transfer fees….so presumably staying up should be easier than most years.

I think the lack of competition in the team often leads to the complacency and underwhelming performance of the past 10 years

Very well could be his last contract. Maybe he didn’t like playing for VI as much as JE? Maybe they offered him a better deal. Would have been nice to bring back but don’t think he should have been counted on for a similar performance to last year

Not bothered by Andi or Batth going. Both older players and though Batth had a very good season, it was in the heels of an injury ridden one. I’d bet he’s just as likely to be a disappointment at Derby as he is to play an important role for them. We have Carter and Wharton back as well. Andi is replaceable and doesn’t really fit a side determined to press high up the pitch. My bigger concern is can Hyam play without Batth by his side.

The most concerning part of the Forshaw signing is he very well could be here to take the place of Travis when he’s shipped off to Wrexham

Probably his best position. He doesn’t have the pace or crossing ability for a wing back in a back 3 formation.

It was only 2 years ago he was voted Sunderland's play of the year and they couldn't get rid of him fast enough...only for Norwich to come it and get a whopping 16 appearances. I think we were lucky to get from him what we did this past year. A one year deal, sure but anything longer than that. When he went to Norwich we thought Sunderland was going to buy him out and just let him sign for us for nothing. Point being is was very good for us, deserves an contact but is also replaceable and not a long term solution....but this club doesn't do long term solutions, only stick their finger in the current hole in the damn sort of shite.

Predict we will make no signings, before preseason, have all out of contract players walk for nothing, then with a week left in the window bring in 4 premier league academy kids to block our own and 2 last minute signings of players no one has heard of.

Seeings as how I placed 100 quid on us being relegated at the start of the campaign, finishing 7th seems like a great accomplishment. However knowing where we were in January and what transpired since then this can’t feel like anything other than a let down. This should be viewed as a spring board into next season, but I can’t help be feel it’s a dive off the spring board to lower depths.

Very costly if you figure in what not being able to direct that header today in the far post cost us. That one moment alone could have paid for itself 10x over

No idea how you think the final push can include Forshaw over Trondstad. Forshaw can’t run and has scored 1 in 4 years.
