[Archived] Northern Ireland 1-0?
USABlue replied to adopted scouser's topic in Football Messageboard Archive
I would like to put out a question. Given that it is clearly evident that McClaren has designs on the England job, has anyone else given thought to the fact that McClaren may actually be doing a number on Sven. He seems slimey enough to me to pull underhanded stuff. -

Post before yours, I did say who. You said so too a few posts later. Trouble is the "old school tie" brigade at the FA would not let that happen. Sven should have been Goran right after the Chelsea thing, not English and clearly not commited to the cause. A spineless git. Yes I think if you pull off the Mr Burns face mask Souness is under there. -
I am struggling to think of a time we have not played utterly crap after International breaks. Don't fancy us in this one.

I think we will end up sitting out the World Cup in Germany. I simply don't tink we will get there. I was against the appointment of the Swede from the get go and I've seen nothing to change my mind. OUr team is becoming just like him, emotionless, slow and void of any real passion or fire. We are grace with some real talent, perhaps as fine of a group individually as I have ever seen, pull on the three lions. As a group we are nothing. It is really saddening because we could acheive so much, sack him, give us some fire, someone suggested pyscho not a bad shout that. -
Well, I read through this garbage and it was just about as I expected. All Anti American political laundry airing, only American and I think one other actually mentioned anything about the human suffering, no mention of any compassion on here. Perhaps your hearts would go out if New Orleans had been choc full of British Holiday makers a la the Tsunami. As I mentioned during the Tsunami no one cares when there are disasters here. You were all too worried about how much America had or had not given at that time, I wonder where the dollar totals lie now. You are all bloody hypocrites, queueing up to have a go. As for America having enough of it's own resources, is that really the point. I feel a deep sadness for many of you since you do not fully understand humanity, plastic is what you are, plastic.

Not to mention the fact that after a few weeks under Souness and Co. the hamstring pull will be keeping him out of most games.

The way things go with us, ending other teams losing streaks and goal droughts, it seems more likely to go the other way. With Newcastle not having scored or won away it's in the stars they will get their first goals and victory with of course Michael Owen smashing home the winner. Or perhaps an Owen hat trick.

[Archived] Rovers 0 - 0 spurs match review

All this media hype about our bully boy stuff will not go away. We could play 20 games without a yellow and then the first one we get the press would be all over it. All because we dared to challenge the two Media darlings, Arse and Chelsea to play a mans game. The game is becoming one for pansys, still that's what a lot of them are isn't it, foreign pansys who flop, whine, and cry and cheat, personally I am growing tired of it. -

Knock a zero off each figure and change the dollar sign to a pounds sign and you have it right. -
I simply can not pick between either goal, MGP had to hit is at a full run with the ball coming across him, he even had to accelerate a bit to catch up. Tugay was on the spot and only had to wait but hit it with such venom and accuracy I don't know. Both were fine fine goals. FoxSports over here had Toogs as Second and MGP as third in goals of the week. The winner???? Defoes strike against Boro, a fine goal in it's own right but nowhere near our two's on the degree of difficulty chart. Just goes to show what they know here, they even had some rather lame MSL goals in the top ten.

When you are in a hole the best thing to do is stop digging.

Monkeys indeed, still better a Monkey than a Raven. I disagree with your "I'm a ST holder Everything should be free for me" stance, if we were only talking highlights then you might have a point. However, there is a lot more to Rovers World than just the highlights, any Monkey can see that.

OK that's right, let's save the club some money by not getting stuck in but then lose a couple of Mill because we lost points and a couple of places in the table for playing like pansy's
-
Don't count on it, the public of Blackburn once lost are a real buggar to get back. We need more good press like that Charlie fella, that might help, instead of all the papers slagging us off.

HAve you sobered up now I really laughed trying to decipher your earlier posts, started my day off right. I am a bit disappointed with those getting on Kuqi already, granted I was not too thrilled with the signing at the time but come on everyone it's his 2nd game at this level. Give him a chance, getting on his case won't help him at all.

Without some sustained success on the field I am afraid we are in for some very bleak times. -
[Archived] Mark Hughes - Good Choice ?
USABlue replied to Ste B's topic in Football Messageboard Archive
Thought I would drag this back up as there is something that is bothering me. As some of you may remember I was vehemently opposed to Mark Hughes becoming our next manager. Well I was made to eat my hat as he turned a shambles of a team into a solid unit whose defence was rivalled only by the tops teams, possibly we were even better than the top teams because opponents set up their stalls to NOT attack the likes of Chelsea but all and sundry came at us fancying their chances and we held firm. I became a fan of Hughes though sore on the eyes it was effective. I am now beggining to re-think, no I am not over reacting to our opening day defeat definately not. It's more like I have noticed something about Hughes in interviews that has bothered me for some time, I thought well he's new and that will go away after a while. I listened to him on several occasions this season and my issue with him is still there. Now I hope some one can tell me he has always done this or I am reading too much into things but, here goes. Has anyone else noticed when Mark Hughes talks about us he speaks in, what is it the third person. Example talking about the press, "well I read the papers and they give Blackburn Rovers a hard time" On the fans "The Rovers fans have travelled and will want a result", Our image as bully boys, "Blackburn ROvers players are pro's". This bothers me it's as if he is always talking about another team. Would the words our, us and we not be better suited. It gives me the impression he's not into it, it's not his team he talks like he is not one of us and that is really starting to annoy me. I am not trying to justify my original opinion of his hiring it just sounds like he already knows this is just a stop gap measure for him, a springboard for bigger plans. Even Souness referred to our players or my players, our fan and we and us. Why not Sparky, is it a Welsh thing -
Plus however long it takes him to get back to full match fitness and sharpness. If I was Sparky I'd be back in the board room with me hand out saying over and over, McCarthy, McCarthy, McCarthy.
-
The injury thing and him being the only major signing concerned me from the off, we'll be lucky if this fella plays half our games.
-
Hah, the customary "early visit to rovers board before things turn to crap for clarrots and get better for us" A few early digs then he'll be off again. As for dogging Bellamy clearly your tinted specs are sort of green in colour. Have fun chasing your Premiership dream, after all the gap is closing,or so I've heard.
-
I thought he joined the squad and then withdrew. I remember an article about Gabbidon saying how quiet Bellamy was at camp after us getting hammered. Jeez, it's getting bad when you lot have to rely on Arizona to get accurate reports about the English game.

[Archived] West Ham United V Brfc 3 - 1 Wham
USABlue replied to Ozz's topic in Football Messageboard Archive
Now that is a reaction from the Boss I like. I will be watching the game with interest today. It is of interest to me the comments about Bellamy. When we signed him I had made reference to the fact that we don't have anyone clever or skilfull enough to make use of his pace, it sounds from some of the posts I have read that this may be the case. -

Not slating anyone, just pointing out a fact. No I don't see us beating either of those two but I am not talking about relegation. Most likely I am just upset at the bad start.
