[Archived] More Madness From Mcclaren
USABlue replied to RevidgeBlue's topic in Football Messageboard Archive
A la Souness' "temporary" problems at Newcastle perhaps. I can't stand McClaren, I really do think he is part of Svens problems, an assistant with more fire would have been better. -
Make Ewood the only place in town you can get an inebriating beverage when games are on. Include the 1/2 hour before and after the match

Didn't Everton do an excellent job of negating Toogs at Ewood? -

As much as I hat eto say it, another loss here, just to discourage the people of Blackburn, just enough for them to think same old Rovers. Europe is a pipe dream it really is. Hughes and his staff and the team have done us proud but we need to remain realistic. -
Hate to say I told you so but......
-
But we are Rovers fans, we've been here before, many many times. Heard word Pongo may be ill for todays game.

Don't know about anyone else but I have been extremely impressed by the way Savage has conducted himself on the pitch over the last few games. Not to mention his heart and soul performance last night, I thought there was two of him on the pitch. -
Hughesy for Newcastle? I am thinking not. I can't see fat Freddy dipping his hand in the cookie jar twice in succesion. He'll go for a big name, try to struggle through till Summer and appoint SGE after the World Cup.

Thankfully that came to nothing. I laughed my arse off even after several replays showed that MGP did nothing wrong the commentators simply refused to admit that Ronaldo could mis kick and therefore there must have been an infringement. Yes Kudos to the linesman for giving the Pen. RFW's explanation of the ball was going to VDS and therefore should not have been giving is soooo lame. Wes Brown had no idea who was behind him, he had overrun the cross and CLEARLY intentionally put both hands behind his back to intercept the light of the ball. Good shout linesman. Saha's goal, I counted 3 MU players offside when Rooney's shot went in. The sooner the rules are put back as they were the better. This "new" offside rule is far too open to interpretation to me. If you are a Goalie and there are 3 opposing players offside in front of you as a shot comes in what the hell are you supposed to think, in my mind they are interfering with play cos they clearly affect the keepers thought process. New rule is rubbish, even if it works in our favour I still don't like it. As for the ref I thought he done OK'ish until Utd got their third then it was like a switch had been flipped, he started to favour everyting towards the Reds. We were hardly even allowed to contest for headers.

Cracking game, glad I taped it. Kuqi, if the lad had anything like a first touch he'd be brilliant. Todd put about 10 years on me all he had to do was punt the ball into touch. Great result, one happy camper here.
-
Dwight Yorke goal incorrectly ruled out for offside. Grabbis great goal ruled out for a foul on Clown Barthez. ( I sometimes ponder what might have been had that goal been allowed to stand)
-
The only question I have is, How will the officials cheat us this time? Surely they must be running out of ideas.

Has to be home 3 it's the closest to tradition, the others have coloured side pades, not strictl blue and white halves in my mind, especially #2, almost like tapered stripes. The only good aspect of 1 & 2 is they may make the beer belly appear smaller.

Someone else posted earlier and I agree, a few of our wins have been fortuitous, we would go out the cup today, and then a ho hum slide down the league to mid, or just below mid, table obscurity. Exactly what will happen. We don't have the squad depth with quality. Question is do I care? NO, if we can keep Sparky throw a few mill around in the Summer we are on the ascendency, it's all good. BTW I still hate football after Wednesday
-
1M profit, is that correct? Did I understand that correctly? (It's early) If so a big pat on the back for all concerned, that's good work indeed.
-
Simly don't fancy us in this one. Hangover from Pollgate, no forward line of any quality. No supply to the poor forward line. Away from home minds elsewhere. I fancy us to take a stiff beating tomorrow. Oh and Newcastle to lose.
-
I don't want him either, I think is has been party to some of Svens problems. He's signed a new contract so Boro and himself can squeeze more money out of the FA if they come calling.
-
I can't help but feel the FA have made a right pig's ear of this. Thanks in no small part to NOTW. I really can't believe we will get the best out of our players when they know Sven is off. How can he ask for commiment when he is not commited himself. As for a replacement I just don't think there is an English Manager out there with the Savvy. Big Sam, no way. PEarce has the passion and the pride but little experience. I don't mind if it is another Foreigner, I mean the Ice has already been broken in that respesct but please oh please let's have someone with a little passion, fire in the belly not some passive, limp wristed, yes man with no testicular fortitude.

No surprise there then is there, he seemingly did not see many other United infractions either. What was he doing? an Arsene Wenger impersonation. -
3 and 3 for me but I would prefer the Away to have a Black trim rather than Grey. The first two home ones I don't like at all.

If there is any good to come out of this then it may be that it has shown the board that we are only a few Million away from being a side to be reckoned with andto dig deep in their pockets. It's there and glaringly obvious for the Directors to see we simply can not have all our eggs in the Bellamy basket. -

The funny thing is about the "handball" the most blatant handball in the Zura incident was RVN holding the ball against Zura's chest with his arm, anyone else notice that. The top brass can say what they want it is bleeding obvious to any fan of any team outside the "favoured" six or so teams that the game is biased, and ref's decisions are skewed, it's the same ref's involving the same teams week in week out. It's time for fans everywhere to start bombarding the FA and the Ref's headquarters with mail exclaiming we want our game back. All we are asking is a fair chance and for the rules to be equally applied. The teams with the Mega bucks stars already have the advantage, they don't need anymore help. -

Hate to bring this up but I have just seen the highlights and am rather upset. If Utd get a Penalty why the hell did we not. I am sick to the back teeth of this BLATANT favouritism, sick of it. After Wigan last night and now this there is no one on earth can tell me these games are being refereed impartially. Now what can be done to end this. Also who was it that scythed down Savage and kicked him in the head as he fell and what became of that incident. So ###### off right now I am considering giving up footy, it's become a sick joke. -

Harsh Penalty by all accounts. There is going to be more bogus decisions mark my words.
