Nah don’t agree with that, Davenport has just signed and by all accounts can hold his own in the division. I’d keep Travis for athleticism and versatility. If nyambe gets injured I’d want Travis there. As much as Rodwell would be a gamble I’d rather him in the mid than Smallwood who has shows he can’t cut it at this level

No issues with splashing the cash as long as there is enough to go round and cover other areas. In saying that, I don’t know a lot about Brereton, I’d be lying to say that I’d heard of him prior to deadline move but I’d be excited to see him in a rovers shirt and see what he is about and it’s a blessing that rovers are back in the champ with this kind of money to spend after the dark uncertain times of being relegated and looking like we were on a massive slide with no end in sight.

I don’t think the offer to forest was accepted, certainly never seemed close. SSN broke it and dismantled it in about 5 minutes. I can’t see champ teams or lg1 teams loaning out their best players when they have their own aspirations to deal with. Transfers are much more attractive than loans, so I think we will struggle for quality

I’m struggling to see the benefit of a team allowing these loans you talk of, 1- they will say yea come back in January 2- why deplete their own squad when they can’t use the money to sign replacements. Means the only loans that will be available is big team u23 players, which won’t be for long term and no future fee agreed. today was the day to make our squad ready and competitive and it hasn’t happened. Think a good few are clinging on to these fabled loans that won’t happen

Squad badly needed improvements, Williams, Smallwood, evans, Conway, nuttall, Samuel, downing, caddis, gladwin all not good enough for this league. Money to spend apparently and where exactly have we strengthened. Our forward is 32 now and wasn’t mobile in his prime. Even leaving is this late is a shambles. Don’t know why we have been spoon fed rubbish all summer if our perm signings are 3 unproven players at this level and a stop gap from Chelsea
