  1. Yes, loads have came and gone , one of the few that came to light. Scott Sinclair, fraser foster, Martin skrtel are the others I know were looked at. Wages being the biggest hurdle not surprisingly , all dead I believe
  2. Michael hector for me. Jedinak would also do for a year. Or maybe he wants another rodwell experiment, Micah Richards?
  3. Or start the games we have to keep it tight at the start, which mowbray loves
  4. I’d argue If mowbray didn’t see him as an option for that position wouldn’t we be after a left back , leaves bell and at a push Williams, both of who struggles at times last season. Hart will go out on loan again I presume. Seen as an experienced head to coach the youngsters through late collapses as seen last season with bell and Armstrong not strong enough to stop crosses coming in late in games. I think if ur expecting him to link up with dack etc your going to be disappointed but hey it’s Blackburn and mowbray so you never know
  5. Not saying he is a cast iron left back, could even be the case that bell is behind him but def signed for his experience of seeing games out and defensive minded. I don’t believe he will have a big assist or goal Talley come the end of his rovers career
  6. Think his debut told everything you needed to know. Not saying he couldn’t play further forward but he was def signed due to experience of holding onto leads and shoring up that dodgy left side late in games
  7. It’s from folk I speak to in and outwith the club, as I said I thought it was pretty common knowledge. Hence we are still looking at wingers
  8. Came to shore up the left hand side from collapses late in games. Def a defensive signing more than an attacking , which is what he has been for a few seasons. People were asking why he didn’t have an assists or goals last term well it’s because that isn’t his game these days
  9. By legs I mean an injection of pace not that he isn’t fit
  10. I thought it was kind of common knowledge downing was signed for the wing back role, similar to bell - who he is to coach. Look at his last few seasons with boro and that’s the role he has been playing. Was also this role at rangers. He doesn’t have the legs anymore to be an out and out beat your man winger. Left wing back for his know how and experience , more defensive than attacking
  11. Sorry to tell you that downing was signed to compete with bell for the left back position. Leaving chapman as the only out and out winger. I don’t want the striker or mids converted nonsense so I believe another proper winger is needed. Why we haven’t signed a fullback as there is downing/bell one side and Bennett/ nyambe the other. Tony doesn’t want any others
  12. Still think there is a winger to come. I wanted Jamal Lowe or Maddison but I’d settle for Alan judge. All likelihood it’s another prem lg youngster on loan, which aren’t my favourite. I’d rather have our own players to flourish
  13. I’m not mowbrays biggest fan and believe he has made a bit of a hash of the summer window- still time. But if he believes in the youngsters and gets a tune out of them then I will happily hold my hands up that I was wrong. I will leave it 10 games before I got my mowbray out pitchfork out
  14. Making a huge leap but I see millwall have bid on a defender from Wycombe, possibly because cooper is joining us and they need a replacement ? clutching
  15. Haven’t heard that one, credible source? Can’t see what he would get leaving Cardiff to come to us
  16. Because they are still the money and need to approve it, mowbray doesn’t have free reign to sign players whoever and whenever he likes, everything goes through the boss first
  17. Deals not announced today due to communication issues with India to get the final green light to complete. Therein lies the problem with absent owners. Photographer requested for tomorrow so they must be hopefull of concluding one or two . Still a bit of a shambles to be honest
  18. Not heard anything about a cash buy centre back or fraser Campbell- don’t believe that one to be honest. I’m still hoping there is a few going out the door. Nuttall and Smallwood on loans at the very least
  19. I wouldn’t think so if Walton comes in, can say that Walton wasn’t considered until very recently so a few deals haven’t come off. Doesn’t look very good on our recruitment to be selling our keeper without having something more solid in place. Don’t think we have reached many of our targets this summer to be honest
  20. Yea, at 26 he was seen as one to come in with more experience and make position his for years to come. As others have said if Eastwood is to come in as backup only what’s the point. I’d rather have somebody decent who could challenge for the position
  21. This isn’t good , I can only assume that things really haven’t went to plan. Certainly Walton is one that’s just been worked on very recently and to my belief after our number one target became non viable. Martínez was the name I was given, loan to buy. Was progressing nicely but went quiet, I can only assume it hit a roadblock that wasn’t sortable. Not at all pleased with Walton and Eastwood if that’s what it turns out to be
  22. For the record , Walton wasn’t the name I was given, nor was Carson. So if either of them come to fruition then my contact was wrong and I hold my hands up.
  23. Well a lot of unnecessary comments then. We will all have different views , you won’t agree with everything but can at least be civil about it
  24. Yup good poster but I don’t blame him either. We are all meant to be in the same boat here, pulling the same way. Life is too short for aggro on a MB
