  1. Numerous mentions of FUP should be noted. Thanks to UEFA and hypocritical old sods like Whelan who get lauded on here.
  2. Thought Venkys had strange timing but Gibson (yes he was one of the people instrumental in saving the club and yes he has invested, etc) has made some strange decisions before. Its not sacking Monk especially (and I'm not saying one win should change things) but why not do it earlier in the week? Didn't he do the same with Southgate as well sacking him just hours after a win? The Robson/Venables farce years ago as well.
  3. Call me a liar for years over my remarks about Walker Family influence then suddenly VIOLA! Your story shifts to the trustees being FORCED by the non interfering Walker Family to sell! Yet I'm the troll.
  4. Charles Windsor has close links with Belokon as well so are the media going to make an equally big issue of that? Infact he was a trustee (not sure whether he is now or not) on the board of one of Windsor's foundations. Due to your anti-Trump remarks elsewhere I'm assuming you believe these allegations Philipl? Surely a trustee involved in football couldn't possibly be corrupt? Had no idea Belokon was linked to money laundering and was convicted in absentia. Belokon claims its politically motivated and protests his innocence. I saw some of their own fans suggest he make a takeover bid and surely they are aware of his EFL disqualification?
  5. Not happy with mine either. I know its hard to win these things but being in the top 25% alone (think I am or near enough) isn't good enough. I might change things too much though I remember selecting Bale having spotted his potential but removing him (rightly because he didn't improve immediately afterwards) as he started badly at Tottenham. So sometimes you can't wait for "good to come good" and have to get rid though good thing for Tottenham they didn't! I always thought they were right to keep him (when others called him a flop) removing someone from a fantasy team is hardly comparable lol. I also remember winning one of the Rovers Mad "head to head" leagues (not sure if they do those anymore) a few years back so I can do better. Used my wildcard also. Goalkeepers (why do some people have a sub keeper who isn't the cheapest possible?) are so close together in points for most part so they are overrated. I started with Lloris but his points were not high enough to justify keeping him with cheaper keepers having similar or more points. The only players I've had from week 1 (with very brief transfers in some cases due to injuries, etc before being brought back) are Aguero, Kane, De Bruyne, D Silva and Myhill though he's just my cheap sub GK. Only transfer I made this week was Ryan (Brighton) for Mignolet as the latter surely has a much better chance of a clean sheet against boring West Brom (even minus Pulis still boring) than Brighton do against Tottenham.
  6. Can't see why it should unless he got an infection from splinters (not that its technically an actual bench)
  7. Doubt its even been noted on here but taking an automatic promotion spot from Wigan (though I've said I expect them to be promoted) would be an added bonus. Why? Payback on that hypocritical FUP stooge (and not to mention racist old git) Whelan. I don't care what he said in the leadup to Venkys takeover (it didn't look right because they aren't white in his eyes) anyone who supports that garbage is "persona non grata" as far as I'm concerned. Infact even Tim Fallon who called out Lynda Matthewman by name lost any goodwill for that from me because he also supported FUP. How anyone could endorse that without being hypocritical (and downright disrespectful) after what Jack Walker did for this club is beyond me. The wealth of any potential new owner is besides the point its about principle.
  8. Fort William FC well and truly living up to their name. http://www.hmfckickback.co.uk/index.php?/topic/173696-brora-rangers-16-0-fort-william/
  9. If you're gonna talk about them how about something less stale and tired than the 1563452322 unfunny six fingered "joke". How about some cutting, meaningful insults (or something just fairly generic like bastards which is used anyway) rather than this lowest common denominator idiocy? A chant like that is an embarrassment to Dack and to the club. Really do shake my head at the maturity of some fans when oafs like Dunn make a joke on twitter about inbreeding and people react like he's said the funniest thing imaginable. Its not funny in the slightest one of the few things I've ever agreed with Jim Wilkinson on. Yeah OK its no secret I'm not the most enthralled by that fixture on here (and please lets not argue about that) but that's besides the point. It just isn't funny. Also isn't it supposed to be songs that have actually been used before? I've never heard that one. Not trying to be a total snob as lowbrow humor can be funny in some cases. For instance Better Call Saul with "Squat Cobbler" and "Tony the toilet buddy" or WWE years ago when Kaientai attempted to castrate Val Venis. Chants like one Oldham fans used "who's the worst manager in the football league? Its you Dunn, Dunn, Dunn, its you Dunn Dunn". Now that's funny though its not really lowbrow actually just immature. Not to mention it was probably true as well which scores an extra bonus point from me.
  10. AC Milan sacked their manager guess that's "unfair" because of their "unfair" spending.
  11. Of course he's under pressure its just the extent that's in question. The way you both talk its like he has an easy ride and just has to turn up with a deckchair every morning. Then again that's probably what some staff get away with working for Venkys.
  12. Benitez claims he's "ignoring" takeover speculation though I can't see why players can't train/play and talk about it at the same time. When they go home and watch Tv can't they talk about anything other than what they do on the pitch? He does however note that FUP may be an issue thanks to UEFA, clubs like Man United and a hypocritical old sod who apparently broke his leg once. Actually he only mentions UEFA I'm referencing the latter 2. http://www.itv.com/news/update/2017-11-24/newcastle-boss-benitez-ignoring-takeover-speculation/
  13. I notice Blackburn Arena is hosting a Pro Wrestling event in 2018 which will also be live on Freesports. Not WWE but certainly featuring people who have been associated with them plus notable UK names. Its not the first time a wrestling event has been held there. WWE (then WWF of course) did a show there in 1994 and apparently featured a match between Razor Ramon and Shawn Michaels. Speaking of Michaels he's been said to be a Rovers fan and infact there is a video on Youtube of an interview at West Ham v Rovers in 1995. I'm not sure he actually is a huge fan as I've never seen him mention the club otherwise. He had family in England (lived in Reading as a kid for a while) so it looks like he had relatives here at some point. I'm guessing he may have been on a promotional UK tour at the time. Wonder why more events don't seem to be held at the Arena besides the obvious? KGH has held wrestling events (though mostly those with people dressed up as WWE wrestlers and are about as simplistic as you can present wrestling) not to mention the other events hosted there. There's only been one concert (Status Quo over 20 years ago) apparently in the entire time its been open. I remember vaguely going there when I was very young. Knowing what I know now it was probably immediately after it opened. Also went a few times in the late 90's. Never did learn to skate either.
  14. Michael Gray saying Short should spend 15-20 million in January . Yeah that's gonna happen. I don't think he ever told the Walker family influenced trust to spend during his time here but I guess even he wasn't that unrealistic.
  15. An exceptionally long shot but what if he's bluffing and just trying to get the attention of Venkys? As if that would work . In all due respect to Blackpool I can't ever see them becoming "everything we have dreamed of".
  16. Without wishing to be pedantic (understandable oversight) that was Ian Jones though I'm sure you're fully aware of that.
  17. Maybe I was harsh to call the result a disgrace at the weekend. I wasn't happy with some remarks Stuart Jones made a while back and it was more about him than the players.
  18. Cheston was apparently there last night as someone on twitter said he completely ignored fans at a service station. I doubt he was just passing through there by coincidence at the same time. That does not essentially mean he was there at the weekend though seems strange if he would travel to Oxford but not somewhere much closer.
  19. He should probably try and be a bit more civil with the Oystons rather than outright criticising them. While he obviously is attracted by Blackpool and is a fan of football in general it wouldn't "stick in the craw" so much to avoid criticising the Oystons as it would with Venkys. I don't want anyone who may negotiate with Venkys to treat them with anything less than the minimum decorum (certainly if its lifelong fans) but obviously its not an ideal world.
  20. There's a more recent thread on this but I prefer my headline so bringing this back up. Looks like Milan the latest to possibly get a screwing. http://www.marca.com/en/football/international-football/2017/11/21/5a140194268e3e74058b4647.html
  21. Don't think Coleman was being malicious at worst he's probably just a poor judge of character. Maybe that's why people like Agnew were kept around for so long. BFS is the one I believe who stated he apologised.
  22. Maybe Mourinho will give him a job
  23. Just saw someone refer to Mugabe's regime as a "dynasty of incompetence". Difference is he probably knew what he was doing.
  24. It was a disgrace. Why? Because I say so. If that's an arrogant, unshakeable belief then so be it.
