  1. Fenerbache currently facing FFP sanctions. This is exciting... Was it AZ Alkmaar that Mowbray went to see? QPR and the draw of London life might be the biggest challenger.
  2. The rules are the rules. Sponsorship has to be at market value. This is one of the reasons Wednesday are up the shitpipe. I hate the idea of gambling on promotion by building on sand, lies and by remortgaging the family jewels. It might not be exciting: but a slow, self sustainable build (I know, we don’t have that either) with a long term target is far more preferable than leaving a trail of bad decisions that makes promotion an immediate REQUIREMENT
  3. I wouldn’t trust Venkys with ownership of the ground at all and I think any suggestion of such is insane. It would go tits up faster than you can say “Tesco’s car park”
  4. (Off topic be damned!) The Lewis Travis BANISHED FROM THE TEAM trope is pretty revisionist as to what Travis had actually shown us up until that point. Mowbray gave him his debut of course, and before the game in which he was sent off : Travis he had only played a total of 55 league minutes for the club. I don’t know about you lot, but I found the League One season pretty bloody stressful. There was a hell of a lot at stake. It was far from questionable or short sighted to leave him out for the majority of games after this. And then new season rolls around. Trav wants a loan, TM says you’re an important part of the first team picture here now on so forget it. Travis really hadn’t shown yet anything but promise, and the team was ticking over well enough initially, so he has to wait for his chance. So a couple of months later... TACTICALLY, DELIBERATELY, AND NOT “FORCED” - Trav starts a league game, does well and is basically ever present ever since. If we can add the “mismanagement” of Rothwell (that has left him as our second best player) to the “misuse” of Travis (now our best midfielder), then I’m very, very, very excited to see who Mowbray can absolutely fuck up with next..
  5. That’s true. You want to see balanced and informed debate.
  6. Hope so, he certainly didn't last time I looked.
  7. Cracks me up that Mowbray can chase and sign an exciting young player for peanuts, clearly develop his game, turn him into one of the first names on the team sheet and one of our best and most valuable assets... But gets no credit whatsover and just absolutely mullered for not doing it "quicker"!
  8. He’s one of the best strikers in the world! Bloody well start him!
  9. God I hope so. It will get very boring, very quickly.
  10. It’s all gone Ligue 1 and PSG Its happening before our very eyes. They will win 3 leagues in an row next year. 3 in a row! Maybe 3 doubles or more! And it won’t stop - as long as there’s an oil well churning and slaves not earning. “Yeah but Liverpool fans are annoying”... or something. Pep really gets on my tits too. Yeah he’s great but he’s all about self promotion and I’m sure he’s got a messiah complex. He had the greatest player of all time in Messi with a perfect supporting cast, one of the most domestically dominant sides ever in Bayern, and unlimited dodgy blood money now at City. He just had to make a show of “coaching” after the game to make it about him. Wasn’t so inspirational when Phil Brown played up to the cameras that time was it? And Phil Brown didn’t wear shit grandma cardies.
  11. Would think there must be a reason he’s being linked with other Champ/League One clubs... You never know, and you have to buy a ticket if you want to pick a winner. I do understand your cynicism, but that’s quite the balls out position to take based on no evidence whatsoever! ? Godspeed!
  12. Some of those are ridiculous. A goalkeeper can’t touch his posts before a PK??? The subs one is sensible. But we would have seen around 25% less of Tugay per game.
  13. I think there’s been questions over his attitude. He does come across as a bit of a tosser on social media, and effectively went on strike at the start of the season because he didn’t get a move. Think he was expecting star player wages wherever he went which put the kibosh on any potential transfer. I genuinely believe he was the “ripped jeans” lad that TM couldn’t gel with upon meeting him. This is all based on absolutely zero evidence whatsoever though, as per the rules.
  14. You tell me. I don’t often get disgusted about things I have zero information about so I might need your help understanding.
  15. A bit much to blame all that on this lad from India though isn’t it.
  16. So has he signed a new contract? Or are you “disgusted” by the offer? And if you can tell us all what that offer and likely role actually is then please do!
  17. Good. Although a bit of a conversation killer. What’s that Marcus Maddison up to?
  18. The difference between Raya and Westwood is not the difference between promotion or not. We should not be selling 24 year old Raya to bring in a bloke who turns 35 next season, who has just been on the thick end of 30k a week. It is the complete opposite of the kind of thing we should be doing.
  19. And that is why it would be even more of a misstep. The second bold is what I want too, as I genuinely don’t see many better keepers in the league, especially at his age - and certainly none that wouldn’t have looked exposed behind our defence at times last season. I would wager that Raya has still saved us more points than he’s cost us since he’s been out number one, and there’s many, many a keeper that don’t save any points at all. He’s an academy product and worth more than whatever Brentford can pay, or at least he will be, and I’d hate for us to just piss that potential away.
  20. At our level, it will take a fair bit to improve on Raya. There are few outstanding, fault free keepers even in the PL. Sign Ter Stegen and reluctantly I’ll be happy with letting Raya go. Raya is an academy product and will play in the PL at some point. Will be devvoed if it’s not with us.
  21. I don’t come on here for a few days and we’re potentially losing TM and Raya. I won’t be as happy as some of you! I need a lie down ?
  22. Dislike. The kind of short-termism that saw us meekly surrender to bids for Cairney. Would be gutted tbh. He’s had a rocky patch but at times he’s been unbeatable. And has years and years on his side. Will be playing for a far bigger club than Brentford in a few years time and I’m sure most will agree that strengthening a divisional rival is never a good idea even if you don’t think he’s as good as I do.
  23. It certainly won’t slow down. They’ll throw another £200m+ at it again this year. Really bums me out.
