Tomasson has done an admirable job, and if he stays around, I feel better about the future. alright, tomorrow: I won’t say a “ must win” situation, in terms of if we lose, the seasons over, and everything has been a failure, but if Rovers can’t get a point vs blades, I think we can kiss automatic promotion goodbye, and maybe the playoffs. This one is important for several reasons, but the main one, is the blades are our competition for a spot. We can cut into their advantage a bit with a win, we can stay in the picture with a point. The dingles are promoting, that much is clear. We need to be at least as good as blades, M’bro, Luton, etc. If we can’t get at least a point, I’m afraid we’ve seen the movie before, & know the unhappy ending.

Gav, I agree with everything you say, except… dingles are way above everybody else. And, get a great job every time from Kompany. Begrudgingly, I cede automatic promotion to them (& wish for a quick trip back down)

Oops! Wrong thread! Apologies… Eight games without a loss, I would be content to see that streak continue. Especially vs this bunch. We've had some trouble beating blades. It would be wonderful to take it at them tomorrow. I remember one of our first games under Tomasson. We were really flooding opposing passing lanes, and got a quick, easy goal. I’d love to see this again.

How does Gally follow up on a brace? I admit, if he keeps his head in the game, & figures in any scoring, I will be elated.

The Cup match vs United: I was in church when Danny scored, gametracking it. Much to my wife’s chagrin, I fistpumped. Mourinho had to put in Zlatan & Pogba to get a win that day, about the last happy moment of the season before dropping to League 1. I also remember beating Newcastle both times, by identical 1-0 scores. Both goals by Charlie Mulgrew. (Had to check this, I initially thought Duffy, it was Mulgrew. What a great penalty shot taker Mulgrew was!)

I went to the store, after a rousing 10 holes of disc golf. Pregame meal will be an open-face chili cheeseburger & beer. 🍻

Thank goodness! It’s on ESPN+ here, I’m getting nearly 1/2 of Rovers’ games.

I try to stay positive, & think we can compete in the Cup, without falling down vs ShefU. I expect Tomasson to pick a strong side. We could pull off a big shocker, ala, the West Ham game. Rodgers has underachieved greatly, in my book. He has a good roster of players, should be at least top 8 in PL. I think he uses this game to motivate his players, spur them on down the backstretch of the schedule, so maybe 2-3 younger players in his 11. My key word is “could”. I love our defensive efforts of late, sadly, I think this one might be asking too much, 3-1.
