Transfer Window - COMPLETE. Where’s Gregg?

If we got those three players… we’ll, let’s just say I’d be doing gymnastics that ive never done before! -
v Sheffield United (a) - 20/8/22

Hopefully, our last outing spoke volumes to Tomasson in terms of who is reliable. I do not want to be dismissive of anybody, as it’s a long season, but the Vale experiment is hopefully at an end. But we have others up front, it’s our defending that really has me worried. I’m not expecting a win on Saturday, but I do expect a strong showing with lots of effort. That’s all I’m asking. -

This may be our toughest road game of the season. I feared it going into the season, and fear it more after the wipeout in Reading. Obviously, sans Wharton, we have woes in the backfield. I am happier with Phillips playing than Pickering, but not truly happy with either. Strangely, Morton & Edun square peg/round hole might be better off. I think we score, but not enough, 2-1. -
v Reading (a) - 17/8/22 - Mark 1

He’s right. This could very well be our worst effort of the year. Even the best stink up the joint occasionally. Liverpool has had two of ‘em, back to back. It’s only August, let’s forget it, and move on. Big game awaits us at ShefU. I dare say our lads will play much better. -

Ballgame. Honeymoon is over. Lots of hard work to be done by all. -

Both sides have injuries, yet it’s the team leading the Championship that pays for their inadequacies first. -

Long was always one of my favorites at Saints, & of course, Hoilett as a former Rover, but I have to hope time has caught up with both. -

Hedges has a couple of assists (actually, three). I’m willing to let Tomasson choose who is best though 😉 -

The first Rovers goal I ever saw on TV, was Scott Dann vs ManC in a FA Cup match at Ewood. I wish Dann all the best this year- except tomorrow night! -

Beauty of a strike by Josh Bowler at QPR- just before HT. He would have looked great on blue & white. -

The U.S. fan point of view: Major League Baseball also uses lots of stats that are more useful to scouts, admin, etc, than to Joe Sixpack. ERA & BA- there’s a reason they’ve both been around over 120 years. good measure of performance, and a simple gauge to judge players. I also like WHIP for pitchers. -

The Madjeski (sp?) is the site of my only Rovers game thus far, a 2-1 Rovers win, with Armstrong & Dack doing the honors. Our son saw Rovers win by the same score a few years earlier, while a student at Reading, with Jordan Rhodes scoring. Methinks we will be happy with a similar result this time around, I will say 3-1. COYB! -
…& Wharton returns quickly.
-
Amazing win, and one we would not have won last year. Tomasson’s blue & white army marches on!
-
I like our 11, sans Wharton, it still looks solid.
-
It sounds like todays game will have a big time atmosphere- two strong sides, a large crowd, a talented lad gets his starting debut, etc.
-
I love the way the season has started. At the time, I believed QPR & Swans were good tests. However, WBA is sure to be a tougher challenge. Losing Lenihan & Nyambe, I was sure we would lose some early battles. It has not happened. Kudos to Tomasson & his staff, as well as the players, for getting off to a great start. I’m starting to believe Britain, Pickering, Wharton & Ayala are a better group than last years. I’ve enjoyed seeing their collective work thus far.

Only negative about today, Pears hasn’t had anything to do. We cannot draw any conclusions about his performance. -
