I can’t wait for the season to start, and for jdt to pull Rovers fans up into the clouds again, and have a team to shout about this season. It’s a long way from Waco to Ewood, but I will try to make my victory shout heard there, 2-1. COYB!!!

I like Dacky, but Rothwell had 11 assists last season. We will miss him, imo. Definitely too good to lose on a free. But, so were Nyambe & Lenihan.

It was a early-bird kickoff for me in Texas, but I managed to get up in time for BB-D goal. I take a draw vs Scottish champs, at their place, all summer long. Decent showing, but I still believe we’re two defenders short, and attacking midfielder.

Yes, I am afraid we are staring at the bottom third of the table, with the personnel on hand. But I am more afraid we will not see more than 2-3 additions- at least, by the start of the season.

I think the last time I looked, this thread was at 132 pp., no progress. Still none. At this point can we get same quality as Rothwell, Lenihan, Nyambe? I seriously doubt it.

Agreed. As others have said, Ayala is a player…. When he’s fit. He’s rarely fit.

To remain competitive, we really cannot afford to lose any players until some backs are signed. I can wait until the team returns home. I assume GB & JDT are not asleep in this regard. Of course, the one guy we probably lose that would stand to bolster the squad is BB-D. Whether or not owners invest some of that in players, who knows.

Gallagher had 9 last season. Yes, I have to believe jdt finds ways to get him the ball more.

Meanwhile, looking at Rovers’ 30-man roster (which still carries loaners, as well as players not on the retained list. Altogether, eight guys who won’t be with the club), jdt still has lots of guys to sort through. I won’t be surprised to see a vastly different team when Rovers play their first game of the ‘22-‘23 season.

Nothing, I have no rights here. I’m not a resident of Blackburn, or even England. I’m just a fan, and a latecomer, at that. It’s simply the only Blackburn Rovers we have. I would hate to see the club relegated to history. Sad stuff, but it could happen. You’re right, nothing gives me the right to criticize, I’m just an old, retired guy living in Texas. If fans don’t go, the club won’t make it. Championship level money by itself cannot sustain it. Venky’s won’t be sorry, they will still be billionaires. the fans & the city of Blackburn would be the ones to suffer.

I didn’t mean it to be. I know Blackburn is a town of roughly 100,000 people, and the surrounding area, maybe 150,000 to draw a fan base from. I am assuming most people who are fans have bought season tickets for years, and they are not taking money out of the Bread and egg fund to do it. It’s about hurt feelings, failure to live up to expectations, wallowing in the Championship, and I understand that. But how long does it go on? Until we are in the situation of Bury?

I understand people despise Venkys. I understand there’s still hurt feelings from a decade ago. But, c’mon, how long are people going to stay away from the club? Its the only Blackburn Rovers we will ever have. To continue to say, “Venky’s out”, or, “I won’t go back until Venky’s/Waggott is gone”, isn’t working. I hope there’s a big crowd for the home opener, if nothing else, than simply to say, “we will give jdt & his new staff a try.”
