  1. £39 for some of the worse facilities in the Division, I think I'll pass on that one and find a non-league game to watch on boxing day.
  2. I'm not sure why this is a shock his previous record in the Championship is poor.
  3. All meaningless the only one stat that matters and that is goals scored. First Half: PNE 2; Rovers 0 Second Half: PNE 2; Rovers 1
  4. Interesting timing and a rather long contract.
  5. We are a centre back and a two wing backs of being able to set up like that.
  6. The idea of Wing backs is that when you have the ball they get forward and give you width on the wing. Reach and Matias both played their last game and they are both wide men and Forestieri has also been playing wide this season.
  7. Really he's a good defender but going forward he never gets a good cross in fact I'm struggling to remember when he last made an assist because he certainly hasn't made many. Of course the formation can work with the right players but he's been trying this 3/5 at the back on and off for a year and we've never looked good playing it which suggests we don't have the right personnel.
  8. I know he won't pick Travis but I would, I don't know how after the last few games how he could justify picking Bell or Williams and I could guarantee that Travis wouldn't be any worse. Last night's line up was back to basics it was the same set up he has used the last 18 months (and mostly the same players) and as I said we looked basic.
  9. Well if they are playing with 5 across the midfield I would imagine there is some width otherwise the centre of midfield would be rather crowded.
  10. Both Bell and Williams have been useless of late although in Bell's case though he has been since he arrived and he too has been at fault for plenty of goals this season, including last night. Travis is a tremendously talented young player who can play anywhere and look comfortable (just look at West Brom when he came on at centre back). He's a good tackler has good positional sense and is very comfortable on the ball. As for Mowbray saying back to basics that's exactly what last night team was the usual back 4, the usual central midfield, two wide men who aren't wide men as usual and Dack and Graham as usual and you know what they certainly did look basic.
  11. But in reality it was 5 at the back as Nyambe and Bell aren't exactly marauding wing backs are they. And Armstrong is never a lone striker particularly with the hoof ball that we play.
  12. The Sheffield Wednesday wingers will be licking their lips if those two line up as full backs, neither can defend.
  13. Raya Nyambe Lenihan Mulgrew Travis Evans Reed Palmer Dack Rothwell Graham Subs: Leutwiler, Williams, Rodwell, Bennett, Smallwood, Conway, Brereton I don't think you pick Williams or Bell given recent performances and I have no doubt that Travis will prove more than able there. That front four are our most dangerous and exciting attackers who I thought looked very good when they started together for the only time at Bolton. Palmer, Dack and Rothwell are all good footballers so we may actually create some chances by playing some football rather than just launching it into Graham.
  14. Nearly half way through the season and he still doesn't know his best team, best formation or players' best position. The new signings haven't had much of an impact but that may well have something to do with the fact that he can't seem to decide what position to play them in.
  15. It's all very well criticising the players but he has to take some responsibility himself.
  16. Still at least Bell was playing tonight to make us a better team.
  17. He has been during his two years here but the last few games he has been poor. Sorry if that's a bit complicated for you to comprehend.
  18. He's keeping Gladwin company.
  19. Thank god that's over. Lucky it was only 3 could have had not complaints if it was 7 or 8.
  20. With Williams and Bell's performances of late I'd be looking at giving Travis a go at left back on Saturday he certainly can't be any worse.
  21. He over complicates things and is also more worried about what the opposition might do to us than what we might do to them. Too many players playing out of position tonight we had Rodwell a central midfielder at centre back Reed a central midfielder on the right wing Armstrong a striker (who played his best football last season wide on the right) starting wide on the left. Then you have Brereton playing wide most of the time and Palmer and Dack being used a false 9's. He's been given a big enough budget that so many should not be playing out of position. The midfield is void of any creativity our only attacks come from a long hoof up to Graham. The two holding midfielder are all well and good if you have some creativity getting forward and creating from out wide but we don't have that and the reason that we don't is because Mowbray doesn't use proper wingers. So we are stuck with square pegs in round holes out wide and two defensive minded players in the middle its not exactly a surprise that we look so devoid of any creativity. Also he has got to be more ruthless with certain players who played their part last year but are not good enough to be starting week in week out at this level.
  22. Well it's the only way we were ever going to score.
  23. Poor Rothwell we need a goal and Conway is got to ahead of him.
  24. People keep saying that there is a lot of fight and passion in this team but I'm not so sure. When we go behind heads drop and players go missing very easily.
