  1. Graham is as key to this team as Dack take either out and we will struggle to score or create goals.Dack isn’t the same player without Graham up top. Tonight as soon as Graham went off we lost our focal point and Swansea took control. We need a like for like replacement for Graham rather than an expensive experiment that play out wide. And by playing Dack upfront you minimise his best attributes. Tony got it horribly wrong tonight.
  2. Williams for Bell. But I’d love see a 3 of Dack, Palmer and Rothwell however for some reason Mowbray doesn’t seem very keen to start the latter two particularly Palmer who after a good game at Bolton hasn’t played at all.
  3. Well his games so far suggest that he is clearly not a winger and that Palmer Rothwell and Conway are all better options to play out wide. As for Rodwell reading the game well where was he for the 2nd and 3rd goals where one through ball saw them in on goal. Rodwell at centre back was another square peg in a round hole.
  4. If they thought Brereton was the best player we he came on then they must have been watching a different game to me. He again looked completely lost and unsure about what his role was. Brereton is no more a wide man than Samuel and as for being target men neither ever win a header to be classed as that. As for Armstrong and Reed the question should be why are both players starting the match out of position. Too many square pegs in round holes in our team tonight.
  5. Or any winger. A past it Conway is the only natural winger we have. We are so one dimensional in our attacks everything come through the middle we don’t look like creating a goal from out wide.
  6. After a good first hour where we were comfortable (although a bit to much side ways and backwards passing for my liking) and Swansea didn't look like scoring then a wonder strike changed the game and much like at Bristol City we looked like rabbits in the headlights. I think we lack a real tough leader on the pitch to bang a few heads together and keep our heads up when the going gets tough as the second and third goals were such poor goals to concede one pass through the middle and they were in on goal. The Graham sub was an awful one from Mowbray because we lacked any presence up top and the ball was coming straight back at us. I'm confused about Brereton, why is he not being played up front? The lad looks lost out wide. What's Palmer done wrong? He played well at Bolton and hasn't had a minute since. For me he's a better bet out wide than Brereton or Armstorng who was back to looking weak and one dimensional tonight. Bennett again confirmed tonight that he is not a full back dives into often he was out of position to often and skinned regulary. We need a proper full back as back up to Nyambe. And for godness sake Mowbray get Williams back in the team over the useless Bell. Raya's kicking awful again when it didn't go out of play it was aimed at Armstrong (the smallest player in our team).
  7. Two changes for me Rodwell for Smallwood and Williams for Bell.
  8. Raya- 8 A fantastic save towards the end that looked in all the way. Kicking is getting much better as well. Bennett-8 The best performance that he has had at full back. Mulgrew- 8 Didn't put a foot wrong again, we looked so much more organised at the back when he plays. Lenihan-8 Back to his dominant best today. Bell-6 A couple of promising moments going forward that amounted to nothing and out of position to often again in defence. Smallwood-6 Looked slightly off the pace today. Sad to say that for me he has slipped down to 4 choice in the pecking order for his role. Evans-9 Sensational, There can't have been a blade of grass that he didn't cover. The complete performance Tackling, Blocks, Interceptions and passes. He's playing like a man desperate for a new contract which he has more than earnt this season. Reed-8 Tenacious and hard working as always. His signing and performances epitomises everything that Tony Mowbray has brought to the club. Dack- 6.5 Not his best performance today which makes the win even better. He still won us a fair few freekicks though. Armstrong-8 Lost concentration for their goal but his pass constantly caused Leeds problems, his best performance so far this season. Graham-8 Bullied their defence like he does most teams. Such a clever player. Subs: Rodwell: 7.5 Early days but based on his early performances his signing could be a Mowbray master stroke. He's not afraid to get stuck in but he also has real quality and composure on the ball. Brereton: 5.5 I'm confused by this lad I was under the impression when he signed that he was a striker but he has played most of his minutes for us out wide and he looks out of his depth out there and he leaves the full back on his side very exposed. He had one nice run to win a free kick and then he had another but failed to play Dack in with a simple ball. Still very early days with him but I am yet to see anything to convince he is worth what we paid. Conway-7 Used all his experience when on the ball in the final 10 and also a lovely ball in for the 2nd goal.
  9. I'd say Williams is more of an attacking threat as well. Bell came with a reputation of being an attacking full back but he hasn't shown that so far in his time at Rovers.
  10. I think that is just Bell's natural state. He's an awful defender with absolutely zero awareness.
  11. Very similar to Bristol City first half dominated should have been 2 or 3 up and then concede just before half time and go in level. Let's hope that the second half isn't as similar.
  12. Another soft goal. Bell is a very poor player.
  13. Strange line up, looks like we are showing Leeds too much respect. Harsh on Rodwell and Palmer as were they two of our best performers last time out, Armstrong must have trained sensationally the last fortnight otherwise I'm not sure why he is starting over Palmer or Rothwell..
  14. Raya Reed Lenihan Mulgrew Williams Evans Rodwell Bennett Dack Palmer Graham Subs: Leutwiler, Bell, Smallwood, Travis, Rothwell, Armstrong, Brereton
  15. The Euros? I assume you mean the World Cup, where if you think Henderson was our best player then you must have watched a different tournament to me. As for Liverpool this 'successful' Liverpool team you talk of what exactly have they won to make them successful? He isn't a nailed on starter in their team now and once Keita and Fabinho adapt he will be on the bench a lot more. A team that has Jordan Henderson starting in the midfield will struggle to win anything as has been showcased in the last few months when he has been up again high quality midfields like Real Madrid, Croatia and Spain.
  16. Surely that performance means that we have seen the last of Henderson in the midfield, there are so many better options than him.
  17. There's something that all these clubs that you say have 'reasonable' tickets prices have in common and that is empty seat galore. You say the surcharge doesn't affect it much but it is bound to have an affect of some sort and what is the actual justification for it. If a father decides it's a nice day and to take his lets say 2 kids to football what is the justification for him having to pay an extra £9. It is hardly encouraging people to come is it.
  18. 'Waggott believes enticing people back through the home turnstiles isn’t simply a case of reducing prices.' It seemed to work for the Oxford game last season yes I know that people went for a promotion party but at full price I think that there would have been at the very maximum 20000. I'm not suggesting that we charge a tenner a match (although it would be an idea to do that for a game or two a season). I'd get rid of the stupid categories and charge £20 for the Riverside and £22 for the Jack Walker and Blackburn End and midweek games I'd charge £15 & £17. Also get rid of the stupid increase for paying on the day. Unless we lower the prices then you aren't going to see a regular rise in home attendances.
  19. Pleased to see some changes being made and a positive looking line up although Bennett at right back is a worry. Also you also have to wonder why we didn't send Travis out on loan, he's not even on the bench again today what can the young lad possibly be gaining at the moment?
  20. Just out of interest what did Brereton and Armstrong show last night to warrant a starting place? And after last night do you really think that Bennett is a full back? If we go with that 11 at Bolton we will be comfortably beaten.
  21. Need to respond quickly after tonight's performance especially with 3 very tough games after this. Raya Travis Rodwell Mulgrew Williams Evans Reed Rothwell Dack Palmer Graham Subs: Leutwiler, Bell, Downing, Smallwood, Bennett, Armstrong, Brereton I rate Lenihan a lot but recently he has been of the boil and we need to tighten up at the back. Bennett is not a full back, if he is going to start for us then is has to be in central midfield. Smallwood was poor tonight and I'd rather see Reed play in his natural position. As for Armstrong he just doesn't look up to it at this level and from the small amount I have seen of Palmer and Rothwell they would both offer us more. Both are creative players and we need more creativity in the final third.
  22. Well beaten by a far superior side. We'd have been much better of spending £7 million on a centre back we struggled to keep clean sheets in League One last year so it was pretty obvious that it would be a problem this year. Two very poor goals conceded today and if there is one man in the Championship that you don't leave unmarked in the box then it is Billy Sharp. Armstrong given a start after his goal the weekend but he was poor again (he doesn't look up to Championship standard) both Palmer and Rothwell have shown more this season so far. Still early days for Brereton he is yet to show anything to suggest that he is worth £7 million. The one plus point tonight is that I thought that Bell looked much more comfortable playing as a wing back. Tonight just highlighted how reliant we are on Dack tonight he had a quite night (dropping far to deep) and we created nothing. We desperately need some width as everything for us come straight through the middle, we'd never score a goal like their second tonight.
  23. I agree for some reason I forgot Palmer
  24. Raya Bennett Lenihan Mulgrew Williams Smallwood Evans Reed Dack Armstrong Graham Subs:Leutwiler, Rodwell, Bell, Travis, Rothwell, Conway, Brereton Seems as though Mowbray doesn't see Travis as a option at right back looking at his comments.
  25. More disappointing points dropped from a winning position. I think we are a commanding centre back away from being a top 6 team. We just concede too many soft goals at the moment and that is what is stopping us being right up in the mix. Attacking wise we look quality at the moment but we are still a bit naïve when defending. If you'd have given me 13th position at the start of the season I would have taken it quite happily but having seen us and some of the teams in this league I'm a bit frustrated that we are only 13th as we could and perhaps should be up and around the top 3.
