  1. You've got your player's mixed up if you think that McKinlay was back up to Tugay.
  2. https://www.skysports.com/transfer-centre Go to 13:44
  3. Actually it was Sky that broke the story. Sharpe just relayed the Sky story.
  4. But he's a journalist not a club employee.
  5. Sadly whoever is in charge of negotiations be it Mowbray, Venus or Waggott it seems that they have had a very bad window and failed to convince multiple targets to join.
  6. 16 points is nothing, really? If we had another 16 points we'd have been in the play offs as it was we were 15th and as close to Milwall in terms of points as we were to Villa. As for when we played them, at Ewood it was an even game but at Villa Park they battered us and on another day it could easily have been 5 or 6- 1. Let's not rewrite history here Villa were much better than us last season that is why they are in the Premier League this year, whilst we finished bottom half and after a brief flirtation with the playoffs our season was as good as over by March.
  7. Not a Celtic he's not, half that 70K and you will be a lot closer to what he is on.
  8. So you don't believe the manager when he said 'in an ideal world we would have been up against a premier league side'?
  9. According to Mowbray he does. https://www.lancashiretelegraph.co.uk/sport/football/rovers/news/17799580.mowbray-adarabioyo-hold-up-rovers-defensive-search/
  10. How can they be one of the most famous old clubs in the football when they have only been in existence for 7 years?
  11. It was our own manager who said of todays game 'in an ideal world we would have been up against a premier league side'. And whilst I have no ill will to Bury or Blackpool I would not call either them one of them one of the most famous clubs in football.
  12. Interesting to see Mowbray say that 'in an ideal world we would have been up against a premier league side'. I wonder why we weren't? I noticed a lot of Championship teams playing either Premier teams or top flight teams from other major European leagues. Let's hope that we aren't off the pace early doors. https://www.rovers.co.uk/news/2019/july/mowbray-thatll-do-me/
  13. If no signings are made then I would go with the following. Walton Nyambe Lenihan Mulgrew Bell Travis Johnson Armstrong Dack Rothwell Graham Subs: Leutwiler, Magloire, Rankin-Costello, Evans, Downing, Gallagher, Brereton Charlton at home is a very winnable and one that we need to win to take some momentum into a tough run of games, lose and we could be looking at a tough start to the season.
  14. Are we a football club or a charity?
  15. He's wasting his time at this club whilst Mowbray and Bennett are here.
  16. If todays back line doesn't show him that he needs at least 3 new defenders then nothing will. It's a disgrace that a week before the season starts and we are putting out that backline. If defenders are not brought in by Saturday then Mowbray should be sacked for negligence.
  17. Perhaps he's found his level.
  18. A rather odd decision to give Wharton another new contract, given that his old deal still had 2 seasons to run and last year he struggled to break into two league 2 teams.
  19. Jack of all trades master of none is Bennett. And whilst Mowbray is manager he won't be a sub, as Mowbray will shoehorn him in to the starting 11 somewhere to the detriment of the team.
  20. They don't look it on the pitch.
  21. Performing at U23 level is completely different from doing it in the Championship, Nuttall has scored plenty of goals at U23 level but has found it very different at first team level. Given that left back is probably the weakest position at the club Hart may well get a look in but he hardly set the world alight last season playing for two clubs battling relegation in League 1. Where does Butterworth fit in when we have the likes of Graham, Dack, Gallagher, Rothwell, Armstrong, Brereton, Samuel, Nuttall, Bennett, Downing, Chapman all competing for the attacking roles? Buckley looks a talent but he probably needs to bulk up a little bit before he is ready for the physicality of the Championship and again where does he fit in we are overstocked with midfielders. We do have some good attacking option but you can have all the attackers you want if your defence isn't good enough then you will not achieve anything. As for the full back's I would first and foremost rather have two full back's that can defend.
  22. These youngsters have impressed in a few pre season friendlies against lower league opposition, which is a massive difference from doing it week in week out in the Championship. JRC won't be getting a game at full back whilst Elliott Bennett is fit. In fact of these half a dozen youngsters I would be surprised if any of them get much regular first team football for us this season. Mid table at best this season for us.
  23. Whilst we still have the same defence that shipped 69 goals last season then we are no better off.
