He's using the club's facilities but he is not under contract.
-
But we have also shifted the likes Conway, Reed, Palmer, Rodwell, Raya, Gladwin and Downing of the wages bill from last season.
-
You've forgotten the £7 Million man.
-
Only he didn't say it in a post match interview, he said it in the very relaxed setting of a fans forum.
-
Tony would see that as blasphemy having Bennett in the second team.
-
One of our best players last season and was class whenever he played in central midfield including a home to Derby where he ran the midfield and Johnson didn't get a look in all night.
-
That was last week's reason for Raya leaving from Mowbray. This week's reason was that 'We sold our goalie so we could put the money towards a centre forward and a central defender'.
-
Thinking back over last season about goals that Raya was at fault for in games that we failed to win and of the top of my head I came up with Ipswich away, Reading home, West Brom away, Birmingham home and away, Bristol City home and away, Brentford away, Rotherham away, Sheffield Wednesday away and in the cup home to Newcastle. And that is without even getting onto games like Forest away where we won and errors that didn't lead to goals. The problem is that Mowbray sold his goalkeeper without having the first idea about who to replace him with, which has left us scratching around and ending up with a cheap loan option who is barely if at all any better than what we sold. And at the end of the season when Walton goes back to Brighton we will be left to look for a keeper again, let's just hope that Mowbray has a better plan next year than this short term fix but I doubt it. He will be first choice, no way that Brighton would have let him come or that he would have wanted to come if it was just to sit on the bench.
-
You could make a video just as long with Raya's howlers from last season.
-
It's not like our standards of fitness are high either, we looked one the unfittest sides in the league last season.
-
It wasn't West Brom's defence that got them to fourth position though they conceded just 7 goals less than us. It was the 87 goals they scored that got them into 4th.
-
But we don't need 2 keepers we need one. We have other areas in the starting 11 that need addressing much more urgently than which goal keeper sits on the bench. What ever the reasons the facts are we sold a player without no replacement secured and are now scratching around for second rate replacements, who are no better than what we sold. Mowbray has previously talked about sides not selling until they have a replacement sorted yet he has gone and done the complete opposite. That was last week's reason for Raya leaving from Mowbray. This week's reason was that 'We sold our goalie so we could put the money towards a centre forward and a central defender'. The only problem with that idea was that we also had to spend money to replace the goalie.
-
A lot of if's there.
-
But why sell your keeper before you have secured a replacement?
-
We shouldn't have sold Raya until a replacement had been sorted, now everyone knows we are desperate for a keeper so obviously the price goes up to a price we cannot appear to afford leaving us chasing after cheap second rate options.
-
But Mowbray has previously talked about other sides not selling until they have sorted out a replacement, yet he has let Raya go without a replacement even being close.
-
The scattergun contracts were last summer, which is why we are stuck with the likes of Smallwood, Williams, Evans, Bennett and Mulgrew clogging up the wage bill.
-
That's the problem with Mowbray you can't believe anything that he says because it changes from week to week. He treats the fans like idiots.
-
Just like last summer
-
We've already got an experienced cheaper option who doesn't mind being back up. I don't see why we seem to have an obsession with signing 2 goalkeepers, we have other areas in the starting 11 that need addressing much more urgently than which goal keeper sits on the bench. Leutwiler is a decent back up and if you look around the league he is really about the standard of most other sides back up keeper's.
-
Crazy to prioritise signing 2 goalkeepers over signing 2 centre backs.

opinion Rangers fan here
Ewood Ace replied to Rangers Fan's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
Just seen the Rangers goal no surprise that it came down the right hand side, what on earth is Bennett still doing attempting to play as a full back. Poor from Lenihan as well, he needs to up his game this season, he got cut a fair bit of slack last season because he was the best of a bad bunch but he also unperformed. -
Walton would be a strange signing because if he is going to be number 1 then he is not much if at all better than Raya, so we have sold a young player we owned and brought in a another you player but only on loan and will be developing him for another club. If Walton is coming in to be back up then I do wonder what is the point in wasting money on a back up goal keeper when we have other areas that needing addressing.
-
The new first choice keeper must be one hell of a keeper if Mowbray can afford to afford to neglect the defence for his 5th straight window.
-
The goalkeeping situation really is farcical. Mowbray has previously talked about sides not selling until they have a replacement sorted, yet he has gone and sold his goalkeeper without a replacement being even remotely close to being brought in.
