So you've moved the goalposts from 'We just don't have the budgets of other teams in the division' to what has happened in the last 5 years.

What we spent last summer was considerably more than a lot of clubs in this division. The likes of Reading, Millwall, Brentford, QPR, Bristol City, Hull, Wigan, Preston, the newly promoted clubs etc could only dream of going out and spending what we did last summer and some of those clubs have never spent 6-7 Million whatever it was on a player in their entire history we spent it on a bench warmer.

Let's just say what Mowbray says and what actually happens can be two different things. He is also far too keen to big up other clubs up whilst talk about us as though we are a small club with no money who are punching above our weight.

He certainly has a problem with overexaggerating at the very least.

We need more than couple, for starters we need a whole new back line. Only 45 Days until the window shuts and we aren't exactly noted for getting deals done quickly.

You really think all these clubs became interested in a centre back (who's primary job is to stop goals) because he scored a tap in?

Not every manager signs a player after seeing him have one good performance.

If he is out of our value for money range then why chase after him for a year. And if he doesn't turn out to be any good you would have to ask why did we spend a year chasing after him.

Lindsay's gone to Stoke, Mowbray has already said Hanley isn't top of the list.

It's embarrassing that we have chased him pretty publicly for a year and yet we still can't convince him to join us over Preston. Sharpe doing a bit or PR work for the club there I think. Why when your first choice defence is terrible would you be worried about replacing a defender who played 3 games last season especially when we have young lads like Wharton, Magloire and Grayson who could fill in for 3 games.

Bauer signs for Preston. One thing is for sure you can guarantee that he isn't on 40-50K a week there. Rather embarrassing for the club to pursue a player for about a year and he ends up going to Preston.

If we got offered £7-8 Million for Lenihan I would certainly take it he's a decent defender but easily replaceable and with that sort of money on top of our budget we could have a complete overhaul of our defence which is desperately needed.

Let's not rewrite history here if we had really wanted McGinn then we could have gone in early in the window and got him, until late July Villa had no money to spend, it was only when towards the end of the month new owners came in and made money available. The reason we did not sign Mcginn is because in Mowbray's own words he 'didn’t really see central midfield as somewhere where we needed to spend a lot of money'.

So hard working that they didn't win a game all season when conceding the first goal.

Downing if he was being signed to play central I could just about live with as he would add some experience and I don't know if he still does but he did at least use to have some quality, Whelan never has had any quality and would strike me as a real desperation signing.

One to avoid.

I would be content with Downing being signed to play a central role as we could do with a bit more quality on the ball in there but it would concern me if he was being signed as a winger.

Sadly not

It's a 46 game season and Chapman isn't exactly the most reliable in terms of fitness.

Of those though Chapman is the only natural wideman

The last few months Moura has been very hot including against Liverpool at Anfield where he was Spurs' best player and Liverpool struggled to deal with him.

Albert Adomah been released by Villa would be a very good signing for us, a natural wide man exactly what we need.

Son and Moura together pose more problems than Kane, Son looks half the player when Kane is in the team. Last night with Kane in spurs were very easy to defend against compare that to the game at the Etihad when they had the pace of Moura in attack and Son playing central.

Spurs are a better team without Kane, what was Pochettino thinking about dropping Moura, he's been their best player in the last few months including at Anfield. Spurs have won one game with Kane on the pitch since new years day.

You could equally say that if Forest thought that he could make it then he wouldn't be here. We can only judge Brereton on what he has done on the pitch and I think that it is fair to say that he has been very poor so far.
