The wallet was open in January when we were just outside the play offs, it was the manager's decision not spend. There are plenty of criticisms that can be aimed at the owners during their time here however one criticism that I don't think can be made is that they have not backed Mowbray over the course of this season. Multiple new and no doubt improved contracts to players, a new contract for Mowbray, over £10 Million on transfer and money that the manager chose not to spend in the winter. A good manager at this level would have had a side in and around the top 6 with the money that Mowbray has been given this season.

From the manager who is constantly changes formations during a game.

And now we have 3 'centre backs' fit he goes back to a back 4, classic Mowbray.

The mysterious case of Joe Rothwell.

Chapman played for Boro 3 months ago and still hasn't even made the bench for us, I'm all for not rushing him but come on. Also there is such as thing as defending from the front, perhaps we ought to try it -
I don't think Mowbray has a clue what formation he wants to play, I've never seen a manager change systems so often during games. Someone on here mentioned Sheffield United but they have a clear identity in how they play, we don't despite the fact the Mowbray has been here over 2 years. I doubt he could name his best 11 let alone his best system. Also Sheffield United have signed players that fit into the system they want to play whereas we have a scatter gun approach to transfers, we seem to sign a player and then decide where he is going to fit into the team, which is usually out of position. Of our signings this season Reed, Rodwell, Armstrong, Brereton & Palmer have all played their majority of game time out of position.

Armstrong offers nothing defensively and is lazy. As for playing Bennett or Conway the big question is why? They offer little in attack and they clearly aren't helping us defensively as we have already leaked 62 goals this season. -
Good Manager Karanka but given his relationships with owners at Forest and Boro, him and the Venky's would never work.

Hughes, Jokanovic or Wagner are the three outstanding candidates, but they won't come cheap and every Championship club that sacks their manager is going to be keen on those 3. If we don't have the ambition or finance to attract any of those 3 then Cowley at Lincoln.

Graham has undoubtedly been our best player this season but he will be 34 by the start next season, so we really need to be bringing in someone to compete with him and to take over from him by the end of next season.

We were hardly on a terrible run when we lost at Oldham, in fact we were on a good run before that game and even after the defeat we were only a couple points of the top 6.

Villa paid £2.75 Million for him in August after their new owners came in before they came in they had no money to spend. So if we were on the ball we could have got him in July when Villa weren't even in the picture. Also given we threw away £7 Million on a bench warmer then £2.75 Million for a player of McGinn's quality was surely a no brainer.

GO! I'm afraid that due to last season too many of our fans have blind faith in Mowbray just as Mowbray does with the players. This side is barley any better than the team that was relegated, although the league is weaker. We are going to concede more goal's than when we went down and we are still 4 points short of the total we went down with and all this is despite the fact that Mowbray has spent a good amount of money. The defence has been shocking all season, if Mowbray was capable of sorting it out then he would have done so by now and the fact he chose to weaken it rather than strengthen it in January tells you everything you need to know. At least early in the season we were in the games letting it slip late on at the moment we are 1-0 down within 10 minutes and despite Mowbray banging on about team spirit we don't have the character to come back from conceding the first goal to win. I have no clue what our plan is for next season when we are playing Conway over the likes of Rothwell and Chapman. For me if Mowbray is here next season a relegation battle is inevitable. Anyone expecting him to overhaul the squad in the summer is going to be disappointed as even on this terrible run he is still putting his faith in the same players. And even if Mowbray was to be in charge of a big overhaul in the summer, given his record in the transfer market I have no faith in him to make the correct signings. The fact he spent a lot of money in the summer and yesterday every starter was here last season is very telling. Mowbray's managerial history shows that once a slide starts then he is not the man to arrest that slide. Mowbray Out!

I personally wouldn't but really it's a moot point as whilst Mowbray is manager players like Palmer and Rothwell will not be given the opportunities to flourish.

Better than any attacking players we have bar Dack.

Rothwell has no long term future here whilst Mowbray is manager. -
So as expected another defeat and 2-1 flattered us if it had been 5-1 then we could not have had any complaints. Again huge questions to ask of the manager. Why on earth was Craig Conway starting we should be looking to next season and he should not be a part of that. It's ridiculous giving him a start when we have Rothwell on the bench and Chapman not even in the squad. Elliott Bennett can add central midfield to the list of positions that he has played in this season and been useless in. The fact that Mowbray thought he would be a better option against McGinn than Reed shows just how clueless he is. But the biggest question is just what does Bennett have to do to get dropped? The 4-2-3-1 is a stale system that sides have worked out, everything we do is very predictable. Also why when we need to score two goals does he take of our top 2 goal scorers and brings on 2 players who have 0 goals between them this season? Brereton still doesn't seem to resemble a footballer. Which brings me on to Mowbray's transfer dealings he spent plenty of money in the summer and in January he choose not to spend. The end result our starting 11 today were all here last season. Lenihan as he has been for most the season was all over the place. Also a special mention for Mulgrew and his defending for the second goal which summed up his performances in recent weeks, pathetic. Take the armband away from him.

After a run of 6 points from 10 games at Coventry Mowbray resigned saying he was an 'honourable guy'. Rovers have 4 points from their last 10 games. Is Mowbray still the same 'honourable guy' or has a new contract changed that? He's clearly taken the club as far as he can. This side is barely any better than the one that got relegated, we are just fortunate that the league is much weaker this year.
