Leutwiler Nyambe Magloire Travis Bell Rodwell Reed Chapman Dack Rothwell Graham Subs: Raya, Mulgrew, Evans, Davenport, Armstrong, Nuttall, Brereton I have no desire to ever see any of Bennett, Smallwood or Williams in a Rovers shirt ever again. Time to let Chapman of the leash never mind giving him a game for the U23's on Monday we need him in the first team now and if Joe Rothwell doesn't get a start he might as well give up. I've got a bad feeling that we are going to have to watch Conway plodding up and down the wing though.

Hopefully today has opened people's eyes that what Mowbray says and what Mowbray does are two completely different things. He talks about changes yet just 3 changes were made and one of them was enforced. How the likes of Smallwood and Bennett keep their places I will never know, Smallwood was one of the worst performers last week and Bennett has offered nothing all season (a complete waste of a shirt). I've said before Bennett is shoehorned into the team continuously and that could not be clearer than today, he is not a wing back full stop let alone a left wing back and it is also the role that would suit Bell best. Mowbray has also previously said he won't be afraid to give youngsters a chance yet today even with Rodwell out Magloire couldn't even get on the bench and quite frankly the defence that we ended the game with was an embarrassment and that is due to the managers negligence in the transfer market. And who other than Mowbray thought that the answer to our defensive crisis was to go to 3 at the back and to bring Derrick Williams back in? To me the players have no respect for Mowbray certain players know whatever happens that they will be playing the next game and someone like Joe Rothwell knows how ever well he does when he comes on he will be back on the bench for the next game. Someone the other day on here I think it was @Parsonblue said that it was a gradual build but looking at our team today it has been a next to non existent build 10 of todays starting 11 were here last season, with at least 4 being played out of position. The only one that wasn't was here was Reed and he won't be here next season and is looking very fed up I would guess due to continuously being played out of position. Anyone who thinks that Mowbray is going to make wholesale changes in the summer to have us at the right end of the table is deluding themselves he wasn't even capable of making big changes to a side with 1 point in 6 games. No doubt the same old faces will be serving up the same old predictable dross next season. Where is this so called great team spirit that Mowbray continuously talks about, still not won when conceding the first goal. The stats don't lie 1 point from a possible 21, 9 defeats in our last 14, 23 Points from our last 23 games. If Rotherham get a couple of wins then we are sleepwalking into a relegation battle. We are no better know than we were under Coyle thankfully though the league is much worse. Also what a sorry state of affairs that for the second week in a row we have needed a goal and our £7 Million striker is left on the bench. Mowbray Out!

The trouble is that it is double standards he has this season called out 2 young players in Nyambe and Raya who are easy targets. Whereas a number of experienced players and big figures in the changing room have performed just as bad you could argue perhaps even worse yet they do not get called out in such a way.
-
Same old Mowbray then not his fault, calling out a young player in Raya (like he has Nyambe previously) rather than experienced players who have been as bad if not worse. Mowbray is sounding like a man under increasing pressure as he knows that he is only 4 games from potentially having to do the honourable thing.
-
I can't believe that Chapman isn't fit enough for 20-25 minutes from the bench. I do laugh when Mowbray talks about players not being fit enough, given that every week he sends out one of the unfittest teams in the Championship.
-
Edwards has got 5 goals league goals this season for the team that are rock bottom. In our team only Dack, Graham and Mulgrew have scored more. Infact Edwards has more League goals this season than Brereton, Armstrong, Bennett, Rothwell and Conway combined.
-
Mowbray's past success at this level is irrelevant it was 11 years ago the League is completely different now, I have been stopped from posting this by moderators. Coyle has won promotion more recently from the Championship than Mowbray. Mowbray is well behind other mangers now in terms of things like fitness and tapping into the European market. Both Mowbray and Bowyer are steady hands who lack that tactical nous to take that step to top 6 or top 2. Neither are good at setting up a solid foundation for the team in defence. Both constantly play with 2 limited holding midfielders, leaving the best central midfielder wide on the right. Also Mowbray like Bowyer continuously keeps faith with certain players who are proven to not be good enough.
-
Mowbray says our conceding goals is not about tactics. Of course he thinks that because otherwise it would mean taking a look at himself. I would suggest that he looks at Steve Bruce at Sheffield Wednesday when Bruce took over at Sheffield Wednesday they had conceded 4 more goals than us, 7 games later we have conceded 7 more goals than them. Bruce is doing it with the same players that were there previously, so clearly he has done something different tactically for those players to have conceded 3 goals in 7 games. Yet Mowbray shrugs his shoulders and takes no responsibility, he clearly can't sort it out and that is why it is time for him to go.

Player of the season 2019

Graham, Reed and Dack the only players even worthy of consideration. -
That doesn't change the fact that the football that we dish up most weeks is dire. There is nothing inventive or creative in our play, we simply pass the ball around at the back, which goes nowhere and it more often than not ends up with a long ball up to Graham. We are an easy team to defend against as our only attacking options seem to be a long ball into Graham or a bit of magic from Dack. Mowbray talks about evolving the style but it simply hasn't happened and we serve the same old predictable boring rubbish week after week.

As I've said before about Bell if he put as much effort into defending as he does attacking then he would be a decent full back. Our first goal and there second goal summed up Bell perfectly for me. For our first goal Bell attacks the ball, reacting quickly to get in front his man. Yet for their second goal he just stands and watches the ball bounce (in his own 6 yard box) right in front of him as the attacker (like Bell for his goal) attacks the ball to score. If Bell shows the desire to clear the ball that he did to score then they don't get that goal. -
If I turn up and hear Bennett and Smallwood starting, I'd probably turn around and go home. Two poor players who I have no desire to see in a Rovers shirt ever again.
-
This is because we are so predictable. Mowbray has been here two years and our attacking play is basically a long ball to Graham or hoping that Dack produces some magic. Sides know that if they stop Dack then they are 3/4 of the way to stopping us. Yet the manager still hasn't been able to come up with anything inventive instead it is the same old game plan (if you can call it that) and players in attack every week. He also looks like one of the biggest victims of Mowbray's lack of fitness regimen.
-
If he thinks he's going to get £20 Million for him though as he mentioned then he's dreaming. I think we'd get £10 Million-£12 Million max.

Coyle did -
1. Not signing a striker and a centre back. 2. Needlessly letting players go out on loan.

Why are we playing a midfielder and an awfully out of form Mulgrew at centre back? -

He spent what £10 Million or so in the summer and the only player to have impressed is Reed who is on loan and being played out of position constantly. There are a lot of managers who if they had been given the budget he had in the summer would have had us at the very least top 10 rather than where we are and potentially sleepwalking into a relegation battle. The build has been near enough non existent. If you are going to build even gradually you need to keep adding 1 or 2 players to improve your which we haven't done. In fact during the January window we actually weakened our team due to the managers negligence. As for making a number of changes in the summer if its a gradual process as you say I wouldn't bank on too many changes. Anyway the time to start the changes was in January as firstly we were a far more attractive option for a player then than we are looking like being come the summer. Also if you started the number of changes in January we wouldn't have the problems at the start of next season with a number of new players settling in, which is an excuse I can already envisage Mowbray making after a few early defeats next season. As for saying the owners have bought into Mowbray I'm not sure anyone can say anything with any degree of certainty where the Owners are concerned. -

The trouble is that that a number of those that 'excelled' last year had the year before been a part of the side that had been relegated. I'm thinking the likes of Bennett, Williams, Evans, Mulgrew, Conway and Graham all were part of the relegation campaign and none are any better now than when we went down in fact a few of them are worse now, then you have Smallwood who has played a lot at this level and never set it alight which is we he dropped down to League 1. Football is a ruthless game and if you want to compete you have to be ruthless, look at David Speedie a key part in our promotion to the Premier League yet he was swiftly moved on after promotion had been achieved to make way for a better player in Alan Shearer. -
If he isn't already regretting making signings in January. He will be come the summer as we will look a less attractive club to join than we did in January when we were on a good run and on the cusp of the play offs.

I don't think that this team is much better if at all than the team that went down despite the money that has been spent over the last 2 years. The League is certainly weaker though than the season that we went down. -

But Rodwell is not a centre back, its another example of Mowbray playing square pegs in round holes and it has been a failed experiment. The managers negligence in the January window in killing us one injury to Lenihan and we are having to play a midfielder at centre back alongside a terribly out of form Mulgrew but he won't drop either as he doesn't have faith in Magloire and we let our next best centre back go out on loan for some bizarre reason. -

Why are Mulgrew and Rodwell in a position where they are practically undroppable? Because the manager let centre backs go out on loan in January and failed to bring anyone in. Raya has needed dropping for a few weeks now, why hasn't the manager done it?
