  1. Celina cost £3 Million and like Brereton (who cost £7 Million) is on a 4 year contract, do you really think he is earning over £1 Million a year more than Brereton?
  2. But when you say you don't think he is one of our top earners you are assuming. Personally I would have thought an England Youth international bought for £7 Million would be on a good amount of money a week.
  3. Well you said before that you thought that he was on around 3K. So how much do you now think he is on a week then?
  4. You've given no examples of when we have been annihilated on the counter with Reed and Travis in the centre of midfield.
  5. When's the forum 'realist' going to back up his comments about Reed and Travis in the centre of midfield?
  6. Sheffield United signed McGoldrick, Egan and Norwood combined for £6 Million. The trouble is you have previously said that you believe Brereton is on 3K a week which personally I think is laughable and very naïve to think that a £7 Million player regardless of age is on 3K a week. But if you genuinely believe that a £7 Million player is on 3K a week then it is pointless trying to reason with you.
  7. Delighted to see him finally getting his chance and taking it. From the minute he came on against Millwall I liked what I saw, just a shame that it has taken so long for him to be given the opportunity to flourish as his talent has been on show nearly every time he has been given an opportunity this season.
  8. Nuttall was on even less the other night but made a goal. We could have got at least 3 maybe 4 good Championship players who unlike Brereton would have been of use this season.
  9. So perhaps you could give us just a couple of examples of when a side has annihilated us on the counter when Travis and Reed have played central together?
  10. I hope that even if we win the last 4 it doesn't paper over the cracks (like January did) and persuade Mowbray that he doesn't need much.
  11. No any examples of when we have been annihilated when Reed and Travis play central midfield, as you claimed.
  12. He's talking about you saying how teams annihilate us on the counter when Reed and Travis play in the middle. However despite numerous posters asking you for examples you still haven't been able to give any.
  13. We now have more points from the 13 games Mulgrew hasn't played this season than we do in the 29 he has played.
  14. Not sure I'd say a great signing and I'd also say a return of 4 goals is rather disappointing, he's really only had one good month all season. There is undoubted ability with Armstrong (unlike Brereton) but next season is an important one for him he needs to bulk up over the summer and bring more end product to his game to show that he is a good Championship player rather than just a very good League 1 player.
  15. Can you give an example of when Travis and Reed have played central midfield together and we have been annihilated? Because I can't think of any but I can think of a number of times when Smallwood and Evans have played alongside each other and we have been annihilated.
  16. Is he really so clueless or just afraid to admit that he has got it wrong for nearly the whole season? Anyone who knows anything about football can see that Reed is a far superior central midfielder to Evans and Smallwood. Reed's performance last night and at WBA in central midfielder have been miles ahead of anything that Evans has produced in 6 years at the club. This is exactly why Mowbray has to go because otherwise we will not move forward and our exciting young players will not be able to flourish. Just watching last night I was thinking what might have been if we had a manager brave enough to let Rothwell of the leash earlier in the season and who would play our best two central midfielders together regularly, one thing is for certain we would be higher in the table than we are now. Again though Mowbray's first thought is defending, he talks about what Smallwood and Evans offer defensively yet we have one of the leagues worst defences. Last night our defence was barley tested because due to Travis and Reed in particular we were always on the front foot, getting the ball forward when we had it and straight into them when they had it. You don't get any of that with Smallwood or Evans, they offer nothing positive with the ball and let the opposition onto them.
  17. When Mulgrew hasn't played this season we have 24 points from 12 games keeping 7 clean sheets. In the 29 games Mulgrew has played we have 26 points, we have only kept 4 clean sheets 3 of which came in August the last coming on 6th October.
  18. What a difference Reed and Travis make in the middle of the park compared to Smallwood and Evans, getting stuck in, always on the front foot and getting the team up the pitch. Thanks to their performances we were constantly on the front foot taking the game to them and that meant that our defence was barley tested. Reed I thought was sensational tonight, he really has been wasted this season, just think how much higher we would be if he had played central midfield all season. It's no coincidence that in our last 2 wins Reed has played central midfield and been instrumental. Rothwell excellent again a constant threat, always wants the ball and to run with it and an absolutely class finish after a superb touch from Graham. Dack much better with Rothwell around him. Also a mention for Nuttall, he's no world beater but in fewer minutes this season he has had more of an impact on the season than Brereton.
  19. Exactly the one thing Armstrong has plenty of is pace but instead of putting him up against a 38 year old full back Mowbray opts for a 34 year old.
  20. Graham, Reed and Dack the only three worthy of consideration. Of the 3 I would go for Graham.
  21. Happy with the midfield and seeing looking forward to seeing Dack and Rothwell in the same team just a shame that Conway is playing. The defence is terrible Bennett rather than be dropped is shoehorned in at full back tonight. And why is Williams playing ahead of Rodwell he's been at fault for more goals than I can remember this season whereas Rodwell and Lenihan were a partnership that kept 3 clean sheets in a row.
  22. Because Bennett is undroppable and Mowbray has to shoehorn him in to the detriment of the team and ahead of a better player every game.
  23. Is part of a managers job not to identify which players in the squad are good enough for the step up and to spend his money on players to improve the team? Neither of which Mowbray has done.
  24. The same old rubbish and the same result. As soon as I saw the team I couldn't see us scoring, Bennett, Smallwood and Evans in the same team, why oh why the 3 of them aren't capable of a good pass forward between them. The subs were baffling I had hoped never to see Williams play for us again yet he came on ahead of Rodwell, who when he played alongside Lenihan contributed to our best run of the season, Travis is a good player but coming on when we need and he hasn't scored all season whereas Reed has 3. But the fact that the likes of Evans, Smallwood and Bennett started ahead of Reed and Travis tells you everything you need to know about Mowbray. I don't know why Reed is all of a sudden out of favour especially as he was instrumental in our only win in months. As for Brereton the whole situation and signing of him is baffling, should have Nuttall in the squad ahead of him at least he has managed a few goals. Crazy not to have Dack on the bench at least if he felt fit and if Mulgrew wanted to stay on then he should have been kept on as one of his set pieces was probably the only way we were going to score. Also if Chapman can't get on the bench with Dack out when is he ever going to make the squad and what was the point in signing him. It feels as though we are coming to the end of the Mowbray reign, I only hope that it is sooner rather than later otherwise there is an increasing possibility that last seasons hard work could be undone.
  25. I don't know how anyone can continue to defend him, his picking of the same players and his negligence in the transfer market have led to us sleepwalking into a relegation battle.
