  1. Getting us promoted from League 1 first time of asking wasn’t luck. Signing Dack, Armstrong, Kaminski, Downing, Ayala, Rothwell, Dolan, Tosin, Johnson, Holtby, Brereton, Elliott wasn’t luck. Making players of Travis, Nyambe, Rankin Costello wasn’t luck. Its called building a team against over high expectations of some supporters who think we our Premier League by right.
  2. Yeah on what wages? Same reason we couldn’t sign Reed. If that’s a dig at Mowbray then that’s weird.
  3. It wasn’t pretty, but these home games against lesser teams never are. We know what to expect. It was vital we got 3 points after the last tough 3 games, and we got them. We have learnt already this season that when we play our best we don’t win, and sometimes like tonight and Millwall when we are poor we do win. Points is all that matters. A win away at Stoke would be fantastic and we are more then capable of that.
  4. Ripped my jumper pulling it over my head for that winner. Wasn’t even celebrating, was asking the girlfriend if he was onside. We don’t even have VAR and it scared the **** out of me! Come on you Rovers!!!
  5. But that’s the way it is, like it or not. We signed Savage and Bellamy because we had Mark Hughes. Sack Mowbray now, with players like Nyambe contract running out, new manager could be a dud, like the 4/5 before Mowbray saved us and it could be curtains for us. We watch on a Saturday, the team is together all week, there’s so much more to it then what we see on the pitch.
  6. If the benchmark is going to be a new manager comes in and takes us straight up, we are going to get through a lot of managers. You Mowbray out lot really don’t see the big picture. He built this team, they love him, they love being here. You boot him out, Armstrong loyalty goes. Bennett prob gets shipped out, a huge player in our changing room. Johnson is here through his connection to Bennett. You lose big characters you lose the dressing room. Dack probably has loyalty to Mowbray, we know he wants to go, doubt prem teams want him. Its obvious from players who stayed or left the dressing room has a strong bond, and Mowbray is big part of that, ship him out to bring in god knows who because you demand premier league football is suicide for us. And that’s not even getting started on how venkys were pre Mowbray. What key player we sold since Mowbray got in? No one. The Mowbray out crew, the same ones who wanted Big Sam out. How that go?
  7. Not sure what your point is here? Armstrong is very good at shutting down defenders and the keeper, and has 5 more goals in less games then Pukki. Is Pukki better? Maybe, but who cares
  8. I expected zero points from the last 3 games, and we got 1. Watching Bristol game that was there for the win, but a draw would of been fair. It’s concerning we can’t beat the top sides, but we are still with out 3 of our best players in Dack, Travis and Brereton. I’m banking on Dack coming back and being a real difference maker, if he’s not then, we’ll it’s gonna be tough to get top 6. As annoying as it is this week, we are still going to lose 10+ games this season, so onto the next and let’s see where we end up.
  9. Painful game to watch. So many of them refuse to pass forwards, sick of seeing Kaminski tonight he must of had most touches of the ball. Woeful from Armstrong.
  10. Hope the shackles come off Rothwell, bar one move he’s been sat in at centre half most the game.
  11. Very frustrating game to watch when players you know can do so much better aren’t performing. I’m a big Johnson fan and he was annoying the hell out of me last night. Millwall were robbed really, but we know how that feels and happy to me on right side of it this time and 3 points. Its funny because I know full well we will prob lose a minimum of around 6/7 games still, we will draw games we could of won, we will prob get another last min winner and also lose in last minute. All sorts of bad stuff is coming our way, and it will hurt at time, but just need to remember that and hope we can come out on top at end of it and with team we have, I’m thinking we have a chance.
  12. Changing subject slightly but in relation to tactics, something I just don’t understand is, why do teams like us who play possession football and passing game, always lump it aimlessly from kick off?
  13. My favourite part about Armstrong is last season when he started banging them in so many of them were from outside the area or what I call (wonder goals) as in usually they don’t go in, and I worry they can dry up. Then so far this season I think I saw that all his goals have come from inside the box. Knowing that he’s capable of either inside or out, I have so much confidence in him we just got to keep him on the pitch and he will score.
  14. Mowbray hinted as such in his interviews. Why wouldn’t it make sense? I don’t have the info to hand on who else came in that summer, but to suggest we just blew £7 million of a budget on one 18yr old player doesn’t make sense. I know the easy option is to say, yes Mowbray spent it! Mowbrays an idiot! But that shows a real lack of understanding on how football clubs work.
  15. He was criticised for performance, rightly so, and he was used in every single post on here by someone having a pop at Mowbray, every single post. And once again because you must of skipped me theory, there wasn’t £7 million available to spend on a defence. There was a budget for the team, the Brereton money was extra as an investment
  16. I won’t look it up now but Mowbray has suggested as such in the past. Regarding no signs in the first 2 years, yeah to us, but we don’t see what happens behind scenes, as I I’ll admit like you probably thought he was no good, but shock the professionals got it right and he’s 21 and turning into a key player.
  17. Last game I went to we lost 3-0 to Derby, we looked terrible. They now sit rock bottom having only scored 6 goals in 14 games. What a funny old league.
  18. I agree with everything else you said in your post. But my point on Brereton which i think some aren’t understanding is that we didnt have 7 million available for defenders and goal keepers. We had a budget, which we used, and then we had 7 million on top for a 19yr old we thought we could buy, make a player and sell for profit. We have all seen enough Mowbray interviews to know how tight he is, there’s no way he was given such a large budget and blew so much on a development player.
  19. But that’s the point, Brereton was 19, he was a weak link yes, but was used as a scapegoat by those criticising Mowbray. Like why waste 7 million on him. And it was fair to Mowbray or the player. Some fans seemed to think we had 7 million to chuck at what we wanted and that was clearly never the case, they allowed that fee as saw potential and could sell as much asset in future. Based on his form so far, and still only 21, they made the right call. When Armstrong was Brereton age, a lot of fans wanted Chapman ahead of him. Granted Armstrong is in a different position, but sometimes fans need to chill out and see the bigger picture that Mowbray has been building. Mowbray has brought on so much youth from the academy, and signed a few gems in young English talent that he has developed, like Armstrong to be the player he is now. The Mowbray out crew, simply forget we was a selling club, on our way to league 1, before Mowbray saved us and gave us this talent young squad that’s taken time to be where it could be now.
  20. This time last year our top scorers for past 2 years were Dack, Graham and Mulgrew. With Graham and Mulgrew best days behind them and Dacks injury coming up, we had no idea where the goals would come from. Year later, top scorers of Championship.
  21. Honestly I bore myself defending Mowbray, but I will continue to do so, just like I would defend the likes of Armstrong and Johnson. The European scouting gets ridiculed, but if it gets us just Kaminski it’s worth it to me. We are seeing the same with the scapegoats (Brereton and Gallagher) who were obviously signed on big fees to develop for future and now we are finally starting to see it. Mowbray has built a really, really good young squad and this is the season I expect results, and I really hope he gets them.
  22. You would think Bell is right footed sometimes. But anyway, no negatives today we got the win!!
  23. Mowbray done well today, they pressured us and we won. Everyone liked the starting line up, and bring on BJ and Gallagher when he did was good subs.
  24. I’d honestly take 4 points from that, anything more would be a surprise
