  1. He likely didn't. He will have received a percentage of what was left of his contract with Sheff Utd for them to cancel it, and Rovers would have paid the remainder
  2. Raya apparently signed a 2 year extension with Brentford before his loan to Arsenal so that Brentford were protected in case the loan didn't work out https://www.skysports.com/football/news/11095/12936962/david-raya-brentford-goalkeeper-moves-to-arsenal-on-initial-gbp3m-loan-with-gbp27m-option-to-buy#:~:text=The £27m option could, for an additional 12 months.
  3. Played right back whenever I've seen him play
  4. https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/championship/einnahmenausgaben/wettbewerb/GB2 Based on this, it is Figures are in Euros, but only 3 Championship clubs spent at least €5M more than what they brought in from player sales, and half of the division spent less than €5M in total. So £5M is, at worst, a middling Championship transfer budget, and at best, a top 6 budget. Depending upon if you are looking at total or net spend. That being said, I would be amazed if Rovers have a middling Championship transfer budget this season, regardless of sales
  5. Luke Griffin (Rovers Head of European Scouting) also off this summer. So that's no UK or international scouting at the moment, may as well close this thread for now Rovers do have an advert posted in linkedin for Head of International Scouting, which I guess replaces the Head of European Scouting and gives that slight hope (which will likely not come to fruition) that Rovers may sign a load of South Korean or Japanese wonderkids for next to nothing
  6. https://www.sportinglife.com/football/news/next-brighton-manager-odds-graham-potter-favourite-to-replace-roberto-de-zerbi/218035
  7. Wasn't his assistant (Liam Rosenior) allegedly doing most of the managing when Rooney was at Derby?
  8. Brighton have only won twice in the league in the last 3 months. But that being said, he did look impressive, I've not checked this but from memory , their dip in form seemed to coincide with Mitomo getting injured
  9. Fixed it for you 😉
  10. https://www.lancs.live/sport/football/football-news/ryan-gauld-blackburn-rovers-transfer-20719424 Rovers were linked a few years ago when Mowbray was here More a playmaker than a winger
  11. Gilsenan, Bloxham, Finneran (Ireland), Atcheson (Northern Ireland), Fyles (Wales), Montgomery (Scotland) from the current crop. Just looking at Britain and Ireland. Also I think 4 (Biniek, Nsangou, Tijon, Michalski) have some eligibility for Poland, Farkas is eligible for Hungary, Duru is eligible for a few different nations, Cirino made his debut for Montserrat this season and Haddow is from Hong Kong and eligible for Japan. The Edmondson brothers are either from or eligible for the USA
  12. Some clips of him from about 20 seconds on in this video
  13. https://www.pnefc.net/news/2024/january/ben-whiteman-signs-new-long-term-deal/ He signed a new contract in January Browne is out of contract with them this summer
  14. Duru has signed a new contract until 2026 with an option for a further year https://www.rovers.co.uk/news/2024/may/13/duru-deal-extended/
  15. Heard similar stories about Thomas, he was also left out of Huddersfield's squad for the last game of the season as he was one of the leaders of a bunch of bad apples. Huddersfield fans on their forum do not have a good opinion of him either
  16. I am not blaming the system (other clubs seem to have managed just fine), just think its possible that Silvester maybe couldn't get to grips with it, which would maybe explain that when pressured for time (late deadline day deals) he messed up. Pure speculation on my part though
  17. This is a complete guess, but was Silvesters "good prior work" and record before the EFL changed how transfers were registered from the old school way (faxes etc) to the new online system? I genuinely do not know, but maybe Silvester did not get to grips with the new system? Edit - According to this article, faxes were still being used in 2015, but had stopped being used by 2023 (although the article does not state exactly when this change happened). If the change was 2023 that would tally up perfectly with the issues we have had
  18. Probably back to complete radio silence
  19. And that if/when he moves to another club at the end of his contract, he moves to an English one. If he were to move to a Rangers/Celtic/Random European club, Rovers would get nothing regardless of his age, or if we have offered him a new contract on better terms etc
  20. Gent named in SPL team of the week
  21. Will stick my neck out on this now, Eustace at Birmingham and Kidderminster has always gone with a 4-2-3-1 when he gets a summer window to do what he wants with the playing squad and make it "his". with the back 5 as a back up for tougher games. I see no reason why that will change.
  22. He has the feel of one of those players who will sign for someone this summer on a free, have a stellar season, move next summer for big money, and then never get more than 5 goals in a season again for the rest of his career
  23. He is also going to be at the Peterborough vs Oxford game tonight. Assume with Peterborough being one of his former clubs, the League one play offs are of interest to him.
  24. Not sure if this has already been shared, no idea what time tomorrow its on https://linktr.ee/notippytappyfootball
