They found ACD last year I have faith in them to ensure that they manage someone of similar "quality" this season too -

The order came from the Blackburn Rovers board rather than the head coach himself. -

Whilst in theory, that would be correct, I have seen enough press conferences to know that is not the case -

I would suspect that his post Rovers career will follow a similar path & trajectory to Owen Coyle & the Odious One Managerial career 2003 Falkirk 2005–2007 St Johnstone 2007–2010 Burnley 2010–2012 Bolton Wanderers 2013 Wigan Athletic 2014–2016 Houston Dynamo 2016–2017 Blackburn Rovers 2017–2018 Ross County 2019–2020 Chennaiyin 2020–2022 Jamshedpur 2022–2023 Queen's Park 2023–2025 Chennaiyin Managerial career 2010–2012 Blackburn Rovers 2013–2017 DPMM FC 2014 Brunei 2021 Melbourne Victory 2023– Torpedo Kutaisi -

I suspect that Wrexham have this one season to get to the Premiership before FFP/PSR regulations bite & forcibly curb their spending next year. I believe this will be the case regardless of how many millions they spend (or don't spend) this season, so they may as well go for it Given the money that they have raked in over the past couple of years, Rovers could be doing the same. It wont be long until the Wharton, Szmodics & Raya money "falls off" the accounts as it will be more than 3 years ago, and then they will be back to claiming that they want to spend, but their hands are tied & their lack of spending is due to FFP/PSR regs (again) -

It wont be It was only on last saturday due to the TV deal saying Sky could broadcast all first and last game of the season. apart from those, Saturday 3pms (when there is a full schedule) are a no go Edit - if this is useful to anyone, this is Sky Sports list of Rovers fixtures, which they keep updated (after they inevitably switch games around for TV), and they add what channel it is on (assuming it is on TV) There is also an "all football (live on Sky)" version -

It will almost certainly be the same terms as what he was already on, for a period of time that does not take him past his 31st birthday, so either until 2027 ot 2028, perhaps with a 1 year option It has become glaringly obvious that: - there is a wage cap for new signings. One which is much lower than most other current Championship teams. Sheffield Wednesday are probably the exception, but their wage cap is imposed upon them, not decided by them - they will sign off on the current terms of players who are already here (if they are on more than the wage cap), although they will not increase those terms - contracts for players under 30 shall not extend for more than a year after the players 31st birthday - contracts for players over 30 shall not be for more than 1 year All of which seems to be set in stone. Rules which are unbending, inflexible, & that they are unwilling to change or evolve, which shall just lead to Rovers circling the drain until they disappear down it -

Nothing at all to do with Rovers, but why do more and more Brazilians have names that don't sound very Brazilian Kevin? FFS! That's as bad as Fred! If someone is dropping €50M on him, he should at least have the good grace to change his name to Kevinolinho so he sounds a bit more exciting 😉 -

Man City have a goalkeeper who is the same age as Michalski, but who is ahead of Michalski in the England set up He is on loan at Rochdale in the National League That is the level that Michalski is at now, not League 1 or 2 - This is not meant as to be disparaging of Michalski, but he is a promising 18 year old, and Man City (with a whole department & "economy" geared towards loans) thinking that their equivalent is currently at National League level indicates the level where Michalski should probably be at for now Batty is not 21 until after this season is over, he has plenty of time on his side to continue to develop... Leonard with his injuries less so. But given where Rovers are heading under Venkys, they might not need to develop much more to be first teamers at the level we end up at either next season, or the one after I always suspect that people who think that 20 year olds are at the point of "make or break" in their careers, have probably been playing too much Football Manager 😉 -

What Ismael wants is irrelevant, He does not offer contracts or negotiate wages, he can ask those above him to try and sort things out, but from there, it is completely out of his hands This is entirely a decision of the bean counters -

Valerien Ismael says decisions have been made on which young players will go out on loan with Jake Batty and Harry Leonard likely to go out Not that I expect Leonard to impact the starting 11, but this will leave us with just 2 strikers in Ohashi & Gueye and still only looking for 1 extra player? But that is a right winger, not a striker It genuinely looks like an act self sabotage * I am in favour of loaning Leonard out. But surely we need to be bringing in someone else, even if its a short term stop gap on loan whilst he is away -

Also needs the media to ask the right question, and numerous probing follow up question/s to whatever their answers are to the original question. Unfortunately, we have to rely on Jackson, who will likely just ask, "is there a complete freeze on wage rises?", to which the club can reply "no" as they are still offering wage rises to the likes of Michalski If we are lucky, he will then ask "is there a wage cap of £10k/week?", which the club will be able to again say "no" to (as it will turn out its £11K/week or something) -

I imagine this particular leak has come from Hyams camp, as it paints the club (rightly) in a bad light The previous leaks about him being close to a deal, will have been the leaks from the club Leaks from the club side are always "we offered them a good deal" or "believe we are close to an agreement" etc, or "he wanted to move to be closer to his nan" not "we offered him one extra year on what was in effect a wage decrease in the hope that he couldn't be arsed moving house" -

That is a terrible situation that Wednesday find themselves in, however, it just means that they are closer to the light at the end of the tunnel and being rid of their terrible owner Our owners, by doing bare minimum whilst clinging on for dear life, will drag us down for years yet -

I agree with that, I am just not sure how many of the current lot will be there in September, That's when a relegation battle becomes a real concern. It seems that Venkys/Pasha have decided upon a self imposed restriction on spending to make sure that Sheff Wednesday are not cut adrift at the bottom -

Long contracts on decent wages were also given to Adam Wharton, Szmodics, Travis, Hyam, Brittain.. before Venkys pulled the plug You win some, you lose some, and if we look on a purely cost/benefit basis, I think overall, they are well up -

That looks more in line with what Lutons accounts indicate, but will again, like all of these sort of sites, be an educated guess (at best) -

No chance Luton threw load of money at their team during that period, during which period Morris signed a new contract following promotion "As a result, wages more than doubled from £27.6m to £56.9m" Don't take sites like capology etc as gospel truth, they are random stabs in the dark -

Whilst I do not disagree with most of your post, I think you probably need to reconsider what Derby are offering in wages these days. Fans of all clubs like to think that their that their club runs a tight ship when it comes to wages and that people people in charge of their club couldn't possibly be silly enought o pay such high wages. However, the wage bills in the clubs accounts show a different story. Derby posted a wage bill of £19.6M in their latest accounts, this would have been covering your stay in League 1, and if you think that wage bill will will not have gone up by a minimum of 50% since your promotion, then Derby must be unique... spoiler, they are not. https://www.matchdayfinance.com/post/championship-financial-results-season-2023-24 Morris was a premier league player recently, he will not be on less than £20K/week. The American who you brought in for big money will also be on more than you suspect None of which means that Rovers are not lowballing their own players & behaving in a disgraceful way towards their own players staff & fans though, all facts of which we are all (well most of us) painfully aware
