That was the first and only instance I ever can recall being more optimistic about something Rovers related than Chaddy, I had to do a lot of soul searching in those days and weeks, just to be sure that I had not gone off the deep end

One takeaway for me is as good a player as Beck is, and as good as he will be, Rovers are unbalanced defensively when both he and Brittain are in the same side (in the current tactical set up) Rovers have really missed Pickering, and Ribeiro looks to be similar in style in that he can slide over to create that 3rd centre back, making us harder to pick off on the break. That being said, that was with Eustace's tactical set up (and last night was largely based on the same system) I do hope that whoever the new head coach is, they do not get ideas about completely ripping up the blueprint at this stage of the season with the current players. and save any revolutionary ideas until the summer at least -
I do, so that I can watch them live when I am in mainland Europe 😉 but I was under the impression that the replays were free if you were registered (appreciate I may be wrong now you mention that). Suppose you could check by registering as a free user and seeing if you can watch one of the replays from last week

Do yourself a favour and watch the full game back when Rovers post it on their website. Really good team performance (hopefully a siege mentality that will carry on throughout the rest of the season), tactics spot on, & Gueye was immense, he was everywhere.

Who had "David Lowe managerial masterclass" on their bingo card? Or "Gueye turns into Drogba"? -

He did his knee in during his 2nd game for Chesterfield and will be out for most of the remainder of the season. -

Hopefully someone has been clever somewhere (highly unlikely I know), and their release clauses are huge -
Either way, it matters not at this stage, Stockport only won 4-1 so Rovers are through no matter which set of rules was correct

Carter is the closest and could be involved against Plymouth Argyle at the weekend, though Eustace stated he wouldn't be rushed. He could also featured for the Under-21s before then to build some fitness after three months out. Tronstad and Ohashi are slightly further behind but should return before the end of February. That would leave only Harry Pickering, expected back after the March international break, and Scott Wharton on the treatment table. https://www.lancashiretelegraph.co.uk/sport/24922883.blackburn-rovers-contract-latest-positive-injury-boost/ -

and Gallagher for £5M, Armstrong was £1.5M- £2M big wages on both of those above, + Downing, Holtby, Kaminski, Dacks 2nd contract (the one he signed whilst injured the first time) wasn't Mulgrew also signed up to a bumper deal and then cast aside shortly afterwards? -

Who is to say that whoever the new man is will play anyone in the 10/Cantwell role? I'd go with a back 3, Tronstad to replace Buckley when he is back, Gueye up top winning knock downs, flick ons etc, Dennis and Kargbo in and around him, Ribeiro apparently played as left centre back when he was in Poland Pears Hyam Batth Ribeiro Brittain Travis Buckley Beck Dennis Kargbo Gueye -

Maybe not, but if by that point he had already signed a new contract with a release clause of in excess of £15M then Rovers 1- either get a larger fee, or 2- it puts teams off bidding for him I would guess it would result in option one of those two Either way, a contract should have been waiting for him almost as soon as he walked off the pitch after Roves stayed up vs Leicester, well before any Prem clubs showed an interest -

Good Hopefully it shines a light on those who would prefer to remain under the radar -
Was Boateng ever in the same squad as Gestede at either Boro and/or Villa? Edit - apparently not, my mind must have been playing tricks on me as I thought Boateng was playing much more recently that he was Boateng Senior career* Years Team Apps (Gls) 1994–1995 Excelsior 9 (0) 1995–1997 Feyenoord 68 (1) 1997–1999 Coventry City 46 (5) 1999–2002 Aston Villa 103 (4) 2002–2008 Middlesbrough 182 (7) Gestede Senior career* Years Team Apps (Gls) 2005–2010 Metz B 27 (3) 2007–2011 Metz 28 (3) 2009–2010 → Cannes (loan) 22 (4) 2011–2014 Cardiff City 55 (7) 2013–2014 → Blackburn Rovers (loan) 6 (2) 2014–2015 Blackburn Rovers 60 (32) 2015–2017 Aston Villa 50 (9) 2017–2020 Middlesbrough 59 (6)

Jackson did this article in December, but it does involve taking Waggotts word for it (just for reference Waggott was still stating that Venkys could send funds during the January window in the same piece, so believe what you will) that it will be done, not that it had been done at that point in time. There may of course be a more recent update that I may have missed https://www.lancashiretelegraph.co.uk/sport/24801938.waggott-confirms-blackburn-rovers-plans-transfer-window/ Steve Waggott confirmed plans for the Senior Training Centre to be transferred back to club ownership. Venky's London Limited 2, a sister account of the owners, bought the training ground before the loophole was closed to aid Profit and Sustainability rules. All loans on that transfer have been paid off though rent is being paid by the club to VLL for the use. But the aim is 'to bring the STC back into club ownership as soon as possible and at an appropriate future juncture'. -
The competition rules (might be outdated I suppose) state that the top 2 teams in each group quality for the knockouts, Rovers finished 2nd in their group and so based on the above would therefore qualify for the knockouts However, Wikipedia states that its the best 7 runner ups that quality and has a runner up table which would make you right. Rovers seem to think they have qualified, but would it really surprise us at this stage if Rovers were not aware of the rules of the competition? Stockport apparently play at 1pm, and Sunderland this evening. As you state, it would seem that both Sunderland would have to win and Stockport would need to win by at least 5 goals for Rovers not to qualify. Match report for anyone who wants a read

hard to say yet, might be "growing pains" or similar, may be one injury which just needs time rather than being him being injury prone having not seen the injuries but having heard he had a "calf injury", in December, and then again in January, it may just be that he came back too soon? Remember that he missed out on a lot of game time for the U21s earlier in the season when he was travelling with the first team as the "21st man" just in case of injuries
-
For what it is worth U21s beat QPR 1-0 to progress to the knockout stages of the PL Cup. Boggan with a late winner Tyjon & Gilsenan still injured

The LT can reveal that Eustace asked Blackburn Rovers for a new contract and assurances over investment in the squad to continue their push at the top end of the Championship table. However, Rovers refused to extend his deal and provide those guarantees. -
I'm sure his big fat pay cheque will soothe his ego

I would be amazed if anyone in India even knows who Eustace is, let alone cares if he stays here or not
