  1. must be a localised issue, I'm still suffering 😉
  2. I'm not sue I would even bother paying that much for him
  3. We have an option to buy, for a set fee, which will be around about what Birmingham paid for him in the summer (allegedly circa £1.5M)
  4. Tronstad will be on or above that too, was signed on a free (which generally means higher wages etc) from a top tier Dutch team (think he also played in Europe for them), well before the taps were turned off
  5. maybe will fund a rental of another big sponge, the rest will be either pocketed, or go on the electric bill
  6. That's because they have a chance of keeping Mateta due to his age. Although that chance is getting slimmer due to his performances Wharton is gone regardless, to a club much higher up the ladder, so may as well cash in and keep another of their important players
  7. Starts on Tuesday for O'Riordan - lost 2-0 - played the full game - Connor O'Riordan 6 - One wild moment where he gave up possession after dashing out of defence but thankfully it came to nothing. Was then beaten to the punch by Wootton for goal number two On the bench Barrett - won 3-0 - remained on the bench throughout
  8. Sheff Wed will be the lowest by some distance, they were capped at £7K/week during the summer, and lost the majority of their squad on top of that Then you will have Oxford, Charlton & Portsmouth, we are probably ahead of those for now (as they will still have a fair few in their squads who wont have had much uptake in wages since their respective promotions), at least until the next round of cuts (eg Cantwell)
  9. I thought that was common knowledge
  10. Grant McCann seems unaware of how terrible Rovers are with communication 😉 https://www.lancashiretelegraph.co.uk/sport/25679653.blackburn-rovers-stance-january-recall-defender/ Doncaster boss Grant McCann is wary he could lose O'Riordan but stated last week that nothing had been communicated on whether Rovers would recall the defender. "We have to be mindful that with some of the loan players there's break clauses in there," McCann told Doncaster Free Press. There are agreements in place for both parties so we just have to be mindful of that. We have to be prepared for whatever January throws at us because you just don't know with this particular window. But we're prepared in every position and so if we need to go and act then we're ready to do that." "No, nothing as of yet," he added on communications over their loanees. "But I don't think any club wants to make decisions right now. I think we have nine or ten games before that decision has to be made in January. "Even if clubs are thinking of it (recall), I don't think they want to let their players know yet anyway, because it's not great if they know that they're going to be pulled back in January. All of a sudden you can lose focus or form. But, as I say, we're prepared for that."
  11. at Chesterfield in League 2, with Fleck & Markanday
  12. we will probably end up with the Batth of this season on a short term deal
  13. Played as the deep laying midfielder, may need recalling given Tronstad & Forshaw injures
  14. He was a cheap buy from a foreign team, I was not stating that he was foreign
  15. Start today for James Edmondson in the FA Cup, Game is live on TNT Sports 1, 12:30 kick off Edmondson - won 3-1 aet - played the full game - scored to make it 2-1
  16. To be honest, if what Chaddy has posted is what Nixon is claiming, then none of that would be a surprise. The surprise would be if they were prepared to pay more than a few £100K for each of these younger players. I expect more low priced foreign punts like Alebiosu & De Neve, which may or may not work out
  17. according to AI, so it may well be rubbish Accumulation Thresholds Remain: The thresholds for suspension (e.g., 5 yellow cards by a certain point in the season in the Premier League) remain the same. The player who received a caution in the abandoned match is one card closer to the threshold and risks suspension in future games, including the replayed fixture.
  18. I imagine this line of thinking would be in line with highlighting the ownership issues to the FA/EFL/wider football world until it can no longer be ignored, and Venkys are "forced" to sod off, rather than just wanting to see their own club punished. Without a Sheff Wed/Chansiri style crash out, we look to be stuck with Venkys forever, & I imagine most would take the short term pain in exchange for being rid of them and having the chance to recover, as we will never succeed with this lot in charge & will continue to slowly sink at a pace which causes no real waves so can be ignored by the EFL/FA etc
  19. and extra yellow cards/more chance of suspension to Alebiosu, Pratt & Forshaw, all of which still count
  20. Rochdale set to move home games to rebuild pitch And that's a fan owned club in the National League, who had major financial problems less than 2 years ago. Not a Championship club with alleged billionaire owners
  21. The annual Rovers manager resignation day isn't until a couple of weeks into February, giving enough time for them to stew after a the broken promises surrounding a failed January transfer window before then sorting out an exit strategy
  22. They have big roller sponges out on the pitch Its like putting a plaster on an amputated leg
