  1. According to the job description, its only a 1 year contract, at which point the project will probably change again, so it probably is a stop gap πŸ˜‰
  2. He was in the 7th tier during his loan last season, which was only a couple of months (personally thought it should have been extended till the seasons end). He has just signed for half a season with a team likely to be right at the top of the 6th tier until the next transfer window. Should be a nice stepping stone for his development n my opinion. I said at the end of last season that I would like to see him go back to macclesfield on loan, and whilst I did wonder if Robbie Savage (who waxed lyrical about Edmondson during his loan last season) may have taken him to Forrest Green in the National League, maybe the very top of the National league may be a step too far at this minute. Entirely possible that a good loan in surroundings he knows from last season means a reunion with Savage, or maybe even that he skips level 5 altogether and spends the second half of the season in the EFL
  3. Like this you mean? https://www.manchestereveningnews.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/manchester-united-announce-new-role-31961488 https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/articles/clygyyzex7yo https://www.manutd.com/en/news/detail/jonny-evans-appointed-head-of-loans-and-pathways-at-man-utd
  4. James Edmondson has joined Macclesfield (6th tier) on loan until the end of January
  5. Bristol turned Wrexham down for Vyner early in the day, and the size of the bids was quite public. Would have been fairly easy for someone at Rovers to get on the phone to Wrexham "I hear you are looking to spend upwards of Β£2M on a centre back"

  7. The official line is that he resigned before January and worked his notice, https://www.lancashiretelegraph.co.uk/sport/24868253.blackburn-rovers-blow-key-member-staff-set-depart/ https://trainingground.guru/jones-steps-down-as-blackburn-academy-boss-after-13-years/#:~:text=Head of Academy Stuart Jones,Head of Academy in 2017. https://www.rovers.co.uk/news/2025/may/05/stuart-jones-/
  8. You must imagine Ismael has the patience of a saint if Rhodes won't be taking his job until June πŸ˜‰ Most of our head coaches don't last much beyond Christmas these days
  9. My response was specifically at the part of your comment which I highlighted in bold
  10. It was, I posted the advertisement on here in June Here it is https://jobs4football.com/job/loan-manager/ It was also advertised on Rovers website
  11. I was under the impression that that it was offer to Lowe, and he turned it down Rhodes is Stuart Jones replacement Stuart Jones had not been managing the academy for over a year before leaving, His previous role managing the academy was taken up by Paul Gray
  12. The job of a loan manager is to source and manage outgoing loans, which they are interested in. not the guys who come here on loan, which we are apparently not particularly interested in anymore It was managed in house by Stuart Jones last season, he left
  13. I don't post on twitter/x, I just saw it under an Elliott Jackson post, however, you (or anyone else who fancies doing so) are more than welcome to take my place πŸ™‚
  14. Some people are so desperate to look on the positive side of everything, that they just make up their own facts TGH must have really impressed Christian in those 46 minutes that he played against Rovers across 3 separate appearances in his career to date (only 15 of those minutes were for West Brom) https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/taylor-gardner-hickman/leistungsdatendetails/spieler/546944/plus/0?saison=&verein=&liga=2&wettbewerb=&pos=&trainer_id=
  15. like Hull (not parachute level wages, but they do pay decent wages)
  16. Transfermarkt for some reason, guess at some fees, yet have "?" for others, such as Hyam, Leonard, Brittain & Travis, which means that those 4 sales essentially count as Β£0 in their figures https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/championship/transfers/wettbewerb/GB2/plus/?saison_id=2025&s_w=s&leihe=3&intern=0&intern=1 I think it may be input by users, similar to wikipedia, but that is just further reason not to believe what they publish
  17. Indeed, however income does exceed expenditure (once again) this season. Derby, whilst selling nobody, have a very similar expenditure which is why graphics like the one I responded to have very little meaning
  18. Transfer expenditure means very little without comparing it to income received from transfers
  19. I would imagine that when Eze signed his scholarship in July (2 months later than the rest of the players in his age group), A pro deal was arranged at the same time, which needed nothing apart from sighing once he was legally able to do so
  20. Whilst it probably is a lower cost job for his mate, is not unusual to appoint a former player with not much experience of anything else. Lescott started the same job at Man City the season after retiring as a player https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-5968647/Joleon-Lescott-set-season-jet-setting-Europe-mentoring-Manchester-Citys-young-stars.html
  21. or he could sit on a beach for another month before another club who can offer Β£20K/week has an injury or 2?
  22. Depends upon what you want to look at. I personally wouldn't count triggering extensions, like they did with Hyam in the summer Forshaw during the summer? (despite him technically leaving first, I'm not having him counted as a new signing) Although that probably wasn't a hard one to get done Ribeiro at the end of last season? This may have been pre agreed based on play time/setting in when he signed n January Before that it was Szmodics, Pickering & Adam Wharton around Christmas 2023 Before that, Pears & JRC is the summer of 2023 This has a link to the last contract renewal of every current Rovers player. Browse to your hearts content
  23. To be honest, once he signed the scholarship deal later than the rest of them, I think it was nailed on that he had sorted the pro deal at the same time Great news though
