  1. Much more likely that they will not even be aware of how Rovers/Ismael are going, let alone care
  2. They sold Gyokeres for an initial £20M ish, they then got add ons and a sell on, Hamer was about £15M, Sheaf to Wrexham was also £6M or £7M The difference is that Coventry reinvested the money, spent about £20M last season, over £30M the season before, given how transfer income and expenditure is recorded in the accounts/FFP/etc, it's easy to do this and remain compliant
  3. we might agree, but those in charge won't bother changing anything
  4. Toth Miller Wharton McLoughlin Alebiosu TGH Tronstad Hedges Henriksen Ohashi Gudjohnsen or Toth Alebiosu Miller Wharton McLoughlin TGH Tronstad Henriksen Ohashi Hedges Gudjohnsen
  5. All EFL & Premiership games are announced 1 hour & 15 minutes before kick off as of this season
  6. U18s lost 2-1 at home to Derby today, U16 midfielder Charlie Fletcher with a goal off the bench for Rovers
  7. Is this the one you mean? I will give it a read, thanks 🙂 https://www.theguardian.com/football/2025/oct/18/premier-league-scramble-young-talent-overheated-failing-market
  8. Starts this weekend for Edmondson - won 3-2 - subbed off after 79 minutes with the score at 2-2 Pratt - lost 3-2 - played the full game - scored to make it 2-1 to Chorley Wood - drew 2-2 - played the full game On the bench O'Riordan - lost 2-1 - subbed on after 51 minutes with the score at 1-1 Barrett - won 4-1 - remained on the bench throughout Farkas - lost 2-1 - subbed on after 73 minutes whilst 2-1 down Not involved in matchday squad Olson & O'Grady-Macken - lost 1-0 Duru - won 4-0 - no longer mentioned as injured, so simply just not selected
  9. I am not sure that self reflection is either encouraged or allowed
  10. Not sure if it has been mentioned elsewhere, but Kargbo was also suspended, also an update on Baradji "It's the same as last time, those who have played with the national team have played a lot but have no injuries. We had two players suspended (Kargbo and Gudjohnsen) so they came back earlier than normal which is good for us. "A couple will be back today and tomorrow so everyone will be available for the final session on Friday. "Some players have come back from an injury and got some minutes like Adam Forshaw, he played 45 minutes against Burnley which is good. “It’s good to have him back, but he is focused on himself and trying to get that stability now to train with consistency to be able to help us on and off the pitch. "Moussa Baradji is making progress as well. My expectation is he will be fit after the next international break. Hopefully, we will get the schedule right. It looks good at the minute, we assess week by week, and this is my expectation. "If you believe in a player, you see the quality, it's a question of time. In the long run, everyone will enjoy him. The fans and the club will enjoy him but he needs time to come back, adapt to the Championship and compete. "We will need everyone and it's our job to prepare him. For the others, we need to assess them still until the last minute."
  11. Dunn & Tyjon are the most likely Joseph, Vare, Sergeant, Decandia & Leatherbarrow have not looked out of their depth at U21 level thus far (especially given that they are all 17/18 years of age) and must surely be worth a year or 2 on a pro deal to see how they progress
  12. Just a scholarship contract, which expires at the end of this season Nobody from the "class of 24" has signed a pro deal yet, but that wil of course save Rudy & Suhail a few pennies in the here and now, and will have no possible adverse effects at all 😉
  13. any idea what was up with mullarkey-Matthews? I assume injured
  14. Michalski played the first half for England U19 in a 7-0 win today, he remained on the bench throughout in the previous game
  15. Before my time, but for a more recent comparison, Adam Wharton didn't get his debut until he was 18, and he was far superior to Tyjon at the age of 17 (Duff was also 18, as was Dunn, as was Jones - for his League debut, albeit he was 17 when he played in the cup) Players being even remotely involved in the first team picture at the age of 17 are very much the exception, regardless of their potential Not to say it doesn't happen, but normally only happens when a player has standout physical attributes as well as their technical ability I personally do not expect anything more than the odd cameo from players until they are 19 or 20 unless they are a generational talent (Wharton etc)
  16. Agree with all of that, especially that he needs a loan next season, but we do have to remember, he is a 17 year old kid playing up an age group for the U21s, and is obviously also one of the better players for the U18 age group for England (based on the fact he gets regular minutes for England at that level) He is however not currently ready for anything above that level Edit - his development has possibly stalled over the past year or so as he has spent so much time sat on the first team bench or being 21st man etc rather than playing for the U21s etc, perhaps Rovers should have taken the line of "you are not ready for first team football.. play some games for the U21s", instead they have tried to half integrate him into the first team, which doesn't seem to have benefitted anyone Finneran compo will very likely never be fully revealed, although is probably sorted at this point and will almost certainly be in the initial 10s (possibly low 100s) of £K, with the vast majority based on future achievements and sell on fees
  17. U21s are away at Preston tomorrow afternoon Haven't seen anything about this from Rovers, but the below is on the Preston site https://www.pnefc.net/news/2025/october/13/central-league-cup-continues-tuesday/
  18. Wood goal for Warrington Ryland's, it should play at the right point, but full highlights also there should you wish
  19. He did start for the U21s in 3 games over the 2 (ish) week period before being called up for England U18 https://www.playmakerstats.com/player/igor-tyjon/1254652/results?epoca_id=155 Games T 78 R R B R L 2025/10/03 PL2 L Blackburn Rovers (A) Stoke City 3-1 82 8 82' - - - - 6.8 D 2025/09/29 PL2 L Blackburn Rovers (A) Leicester City 3-3 90 - - - x2 - 9.1 L 2025/09/16 NLC GS Blackburn Rovers U21 (A) Rochdale 3-2 80 8 80' R - - - -
  20. I do not think that it is the sales that people get upset about, its that with proper contract management, most sales are either completely avoidable, or we would be able to ask for much higher fees, which could then (in theory at least) lead to us having more to invest on improving the squad. The frustration comes from trying to save a few pennies in the here and now by not attempting to renew contracts until the last minute, or offering derisory wages (when compared to our rivals), which in turn leads to panicked sales (with a year left on the players contracts) for a relative pittance
