  1. It is worth noting that the U21s are also playing today, so it is possible that some of the other younger players are with them Litherland, Garrett, Batty, Powell, Leonard, Wood, Dunn, Edmondson, O'Grady-Macken from the players who have been training with the first team/on the bench over the past year or so * I am definitely not stating that we have wonderful strength in depth, just mentioning a few of the younger names who are missing
  2. Looks like the trialist is a central midfielder, unless someone is playing where they normally dont Goddard Houghton Atcheson Wharton Pickering Buckley TRIALIST Mullarkey-Matthews Strich Kargbo Gueye
  3. In fairness, he didn't say that they were offered contracts at anywhere close to market value I can well believe that
  4. Sheffield Wednesday and Hull might rival us if their transfer bans hold up. All 3 of the promoted teams look strong this season, and the other teams from low down the table last season like Oxford, PNE & Derby have strengthened too
  5. Not yet That Owen Coyle squad had Jason Lowe, Hope Akpan, Wes Brown and Gordon Greer
  6. of course they are I am sure that we could all name one or 2 who will immediately jump onto that bandwagon
  7. When was the last time Rovers received the true worth of any player they sold? Due to a combination of contract mismanagement and the smell of those in charge being desperate for spare change to keep the lights on, Rovers get low balled on fees almost as often as they try to low ball their own players for contract offers
  8. A statement that we should all be able to get behind
  9. But but but, "exciting summer ahead" I wonder if he meant the "exciting" last minute scramble trying to plug gaping holes in the squad with cheap punts and loans? If Rovers do stay out of trouble this season, then the scouting department will have performed a miracle
  10. Could probably say the same about Travis and Tronstad too
  11. If so, its almost certainly Gestede/Pasha using the old Waggott contract negotiations playbook 1 - Offer a salary package that the player is happy with 2 - Get the player over for medical etc 3 - Try a second lowball offer in the hope of saving a few quid, hoping that they player feels invested enough in the move rather than telling them to f off
  12. Doesn't help him that he was sent out on loan in January and then immediately injured for the rest of the season (knee injury if I recall). Not even sure if he is fit now
  13. Will that AI turn into Hitler too? 😉
  14. U21 friendly fixtures for those interested Saturday July 12th Celtic Behind closed doors Saturday July 19th Tranmere Rovers Behind closed doors Wednesday July 23rd Oldham Athletic Behind closed doors Saturday July 26th Curzon Ashton Tameside Stadium (3pm) Wednesday July 30th Barnsley Behind closed doors Saturday August 2nd Ashton United Hurst Cross Stadium (1pm) Saturday August 9th Derby County Behind closed doors
  15. When transfermarkt has someone down as right midfield, it more often than not means right wing back, and as St Mirren play with wing backs,it looks like that is where he played
  16. Whilst most of us probably have no idea about the quality of the players signed (could be just as easily be Ohashi's, or Telalovic's). They do all seem to have pace, strength, height, and the ability to drive forward with the ball, all things which Rovers have been missing for a while Hopefully at least a couple of them turn out to be gems
  17. According to this, he may not, IF his loan club is taken as his last club rather than his parent club
  18. Are you living in an alternate universe? 😉
  19. I am sure that I read an old interview with him that he likes his wingers cutting inside, If so, we can expect Hedges and De Neve will compete for the spot on the right, Kargbo and someone else on the left
  20. He moved to Greece last week https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/dereck-kutesa/profil/spieler/237669
