  1. "manager" & head coach" are different roles with different responsibilities, Yes, one has essentially replaced the other in recent years, but that doesn't mean that the jobs are identical
  2. Nailed on for Stoke (or a similar team with more money than sense and an equally terrible transfer policy)
  3. "Sunderland AFC is delighted to announce the appointment of RΓ©gis Le Bris as Head Coach."
  4. That goal for Orient was a mile offside
  5. As expected to be honest He has only been a bit part player for them in the past month. Hasn't even got off the bench in the past 2 games. Seems not to be trusted against the better sides in the division, and also not trusted if they are holding on to a lead, so would only expect to see him in the play offs if they are behind & need a late goal
  6. wonder how long he will be "happy"? Michael CairneyMichael Cairney β€’ Lead First Team Scout at Blackburn Rovers Football ClubLead First Team Scout at Blackburn Rovers Football Club5h β€’ 5 hours ago β€’ Visible to anyone on or off LinkedIn I’m happy to share that I’m starting a new position as Lead First Team Scout at Blackburn Rovers Football Club! Starting a New Position
  7. but but but significant investment! πŸ˜‰
  8. unfortunately you may be right there If that was to be the case, then the only "silver lining" I could think of is that following Luton's relegation, his wages would be about half the amount that they were this season Still a waste of a squad place and a wage though, so scant consolation indeed
  9. If we are to assume that Ohashi is Ismael's style, then Riis has nothing like that kind of work rate
  10. Good news is Woodrow is not out of contract at Luton, so I presume it is unlikely we will try and make his loan permanent
  11. He has been there all season, mainly as a sub option, having signed for them straight from his release from Rovers (from memory, it was a contract arranged ahead of time whilst technically still under contract at Rovers) Ayr lost the 2nd leg last night (losing the tie on aggregate) so are not going to be in the top tier next season, but he still has another year left on his contract with them so may possibly play a bigger part next season? Looks like he developed the useful knack of scoring off the bench late in the season. As you say, not the level we need, but good luck to him
  12. I was under the impression that they rated him but he had a shocker of a season, including only making one appearance in a half season loan in Ireland before being dropped It looks as though injury may have played a part in that, but he was also not favoured for minutes when he was at Preston either He did play a fair amount (by comparison) the season before. Without knowing too much about what happened, maybe it ws just a case of him having a similar break out season, and then regression/finding his level that Adam Henley had? (how is he only 30? It seems like a lifetime ago)
  13. On the bench this weekend Markanday - drew 2-2 - remained on the bench throughout - 2nd leg on Wednesday on Sky Sports + Saadi - lost 4-2 - came off the bench at half time with the score at 2-2 - finish 2nd in the relegation group (following league split) Not involved in matchday squad Vale - lost 3-0 - currently injured - next game on Wednesday
  14. has been released, as has Woodman personally I'm not huge fan of either of them
  15. Preston letting players know via instagram that they are being released Probably shouldn't laugh at them being a shambles too soon, or it will turn out Rovers will use blind carrier pigeons (or random news articles from Elliott Jackson) to attempt to let our guys know According to someone in their forum, so it may well be nonsense, Rovers interested in him,
  16. just wait for Vale, Markanday & O'Grady-Macken to each be signed up for a couple more years by the end of next week and Gestede to declare it a successful window and then send the scouting team on an extended period of gardening leave
  17. Probably the case, basically says as much in the interview "β€œHopefully I can be in and around the first team here, but if not I’d be keen to go out on loan and play some men’s football and improve myself further."
  18. Left footed centre back signed Come to think of it, by that logic, Rovers also signed up a right back last month too Gestede getting his targets sorted early lol Just a box to box midfielder, right winger & striker left and that's the business sorted πŸ˜‰
  19. George Pratt has signed a new contract until 2026 with a years option Wonder if he is is the left footed centre back that Gestede wanted, given that does not qualify for the U21s next season https://www.rovers.co.uk/news/2025/may/09/pratt-pens-new-deal/
  20. I would say that such a windfall (which is not used to fund the squad) wakes a few more people up So it does still have its uses
  21. None have been announced by the club yet (but we shouldn't be surprised about that), Bloxham posted on his instagram He has also been injured for the past 6 months
  22. Funny game innit, I see Pickering & Ribeiro as being of fairly equal ability
  23. Lewis Bell & Stephen Edmondson also seem to have confirmed they have been let go
  24. I think you misread that Small is a left-back but has been playing on the right side of defence this season with Kayne Ramsey suffering a knee injury in October. Although Transfermarkt seems to think he has been playing right wing mostly this season
