  1. Whichever one it is, he is terrible Chair (more a 10 than a CM) and Willock (wide player) are QPRs better players. They certainly do not have any CMs worth having
  2. Could depend on how the deal is structured. How much up front, how much in add ons (and when are they triggered etc) sell on fees etc. Would we take £25M for Adam Wharton? Probably. Would we take £25M spread over 25 years? Probably not
  3. I think if we are honest with ourselves, most of us (even those who were willing to give Szmodics time) thought that he was a strange signing when we had Dack, and that the money may have been better spent elsewhere. Delighted to have been proven wrong on that
  4. 4-5 weeks https://www.rovers.co.uk/news/2024/january/25/boss-gives-injury-update-on-carter-and-pickering/
  5. They should already be in the automatic positions with the squad they have. But they have Russell Martin as manager, its like starting off the season with a 20 point penalty
  6. Their wage bill was £16.4M in League 1 https://swissramble.substack.com/p/ipswich-town-finances-202122 so you can probably safely add 50-100% onto that for promotion increases and the wages of the new players they brought in this season (Hirst is on something like £15-20K/week for example) For reference, Rovers wage bill in the Championship was only £5M/year higher for the same period, and was also around £16M when we spent the season in League 1 (keep in mind the Rovers only spent 1 season in League one so still had players on higher contracts from their time in League 1, whilst Ipswich built a relatively high wage squad for the division they were in)
  7. Owned by a hedge fund and apparently sell 50,000 shirts due to a sponsorship with Ed Sheeran (which sounds ridiculous) https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-12114391/Wrexham-star-riles-Ipswich-fans-comparing-Ed-Sheeran-Rob-McElhenney-Ryan-Reynolds.html Apparently they posted a loss of £12.6M in their last accounts and you would suspect a much bigger amount this season (promotion wage increases, transfers etc), so I suspect they are just going for it and it they do not get promoted this season, they will have to cut their cloth for FFP
  8. Albecete were in the Spanish 2nd division when he signed for them https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/enzo-boyomo/leistungsdatendetails/spieler/541555/plus/0?saison=2020&verein=&liga=&wettbewerb=&pos=&trainer_id= I am assuming you got the 3rd division thing from his wiki bio which states he was originally assigned to their 2nd team (who do play in the Spanish 4th tier). Although he was promoted to the first team very shortly afterwards (similarly to how we originally signed Dolan for the U21s and then promoted him to the first team squad about a month later) and was a first team regular for them (played 30 off games as they were relegated to the 3rd tier) Who knows why he turned down our contract offer? Maybe its because Albecete offered him an easier route to the first team, maybe he just liked the weather better in Spain?
  9. https://www.lancashiretelegraph.co.uk/sport/18538162.seven-rovers-prospects-agree-new-deals---four-offers-unsigned/ Apparently we did and Boyomo declined it , preferring to move to the south of Spain Mental 😉
  10. Polish U20 International. He has not replaced Lewandowski quite yet. And "keeps scoring" may also be a slight exaggeration. 3 goals in 13 games for the U21s (granted he has been more prolific in the U18s) https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/junior-nsangou/leistungsdatendetails/spieler/936903/plus/0?saison=&verein=&liga=&wettbewerb=GB21&pos=&trainer_id=
  11. Fair comment, I blame a lack of coffee for me not thinking of that lol
  12. Spot on The truth is, we do not want Adam Wharton to move to a "destination club" where he will stay and play for the rest of his career. We may be able to ask for more than 25M if that is the case, but probably not that much more at this stage or in the summer. The ideal scenario is Dortmund, Brighton or similar (Palace will do at a stretch) for £25M and a healthy sell on fee, and then for him to move to a European giant in 2-3 years time for circa £100M
  13. Correct Phillips kept Ben Davies out of the Liverpool team at the time
  14. Pretty sure I remember reading that JDT wasn't even in the running until Broughton was brought in. If that is true then JDT seems to be very much a GB appointment/choice
  15. 5 days Window closes at 11pm on Thursday 1st Feb
  16. https://www.rovers.co.uk/news/2023/april/17/sean-kimberley-makes-rovers-return-/ Sean Kimberley - Head of Recruitment
  17. Genuinely don't think Rovers want a target man as such, they want someone to press front the front (size is just an added bonus). Not sure Clarke-Harris offers anything like the type of work rate that is required and personally I see Dolan being the man chosen to lead the line if/when Gally leaves.
  18. He looked good 2 or 3 years ago, but seems to have had his development stifled by numerous niggly injuries (I think hamstring related). He has hardly played now for 2 years (seem to have a few of these at U21 level), and at the age he now is, really needs to move somewhere and try and kickstart his career. Pike went to Tranmere in League 2 and has played a few games for them without looking out of place at that level, Cirino could hopefully do the same unless his injuries have reduced his mobility and pace to much
  19. He started terribly, but grew into the game and finished quite well, still looks well off being ready for a first team spot though
  20. https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/lenni-cirino/leistungsdatendetails/spieler/650884/plus/0?saison=2022&verein=&liga=&wettbewerb=&pos=&trainer_id= He has hardly played since early last season, and not at all this year, think he has injury issues and just turned 21 today
  21. Strong side, If you cant get to Ewood, you can buy a match pass for £1.50 Assuming Dolan in the 10 role, Duru on the right wing, unless JRC is going to be a 3rd CB again like Saturday https://www.rovers.co.uk/news/2024/january/25/watch-rovers-under-21s-v-sparta-prague-under-21s-live-/
  22. Surely we are always in the middle of a 3 year cycle! And at the beginning of one, and at the end of one Its a rolling 3 year cycle NB - I get that you can fudge it to some extent and have 2 years of sales and austerity to fund a "go for it" year, like Hull seem to have done
  23. I really would hope that If (when) Adam has to go anywhere, then its either Brighton or Dortmund with a healthy sell on fee. Both have shown in recent years that they give youth a chance and can maximise the fees they receive in a short space of time. I cannot remember Palace selling anyone for a significant fee in recent years (edit, just checked and Wan Bissaka to Man Utd in 2019 looks like the last big sale they made for a huge profit) and they recently lost Zaha on a free because they didn't negotiate with interested clubs for years (sound familiar?)
  24. https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/arber-zeneli/leistungsdatendetails/spieler/222876/plus/0?saison=&verein=&liga=&wettbewerb=&pos=&trainer_id= It looks like most if his goals were scored for various U19 & U21 teams in Sweden and only 3 goals in the last 3 years. Dosent look like an upgrade on Siggurdsson or Dolan for the Left forward slot he seems to play mostly
