  1. His work rate, pressing and running create space and goal scoring opportunities for those who are more adept at putting the ball in the net such as Sigurdsson and Szmodics. Rovers had a similar upturn in results when Dolan was playing as the central striker (6 wins in 8). https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/tyrhys-dolan/leistungsdatendetails/spieler/647435/plus/0?saison=2023&verein=&liga=&wettbewerb=&pos=14&trainer_id=
  2. he is right footed, not sure which side he prefers to play on though
  3. Am I reading this right? Scott Wharton is fit for tomorrow, and JRC & Gally are travelling with the squad (and presumably on the bench even if they are "not match fit")
  4. Even Stockport or Salford, I think both have a bit of money (compared to Stanley) to pay more in terms of wages and loan fees. Would also give Rovers better relations with these clubs if we ever did want to make a move for one of their players Edit - Or Crewe - Are they not a team that tries to pass it about a bit? (if we wanted a team that doesn't just hoof it), and they definitely produce one or 2 players who Rovers would be/have been interested in. Could be a good symbiotic relationship for both clubs NB - I am thinking about the Batty's, Barnes' and Gilsenan's rather than players closer to the first team squad who would probably be better suited to a League 1 loan
  5. I'm not sure we can call Hill an experienced player, unless you mean in comparison to literal recent academy graduates? He essentially had 2 seasons in League one and half a season in Scotland before we signed him on loan. I am not saying he wont be missed, he did very well in his time at Rovers, fingers crossed Bournemouth buy a defender or 4 and send him back later this month
  6. You have the wrong Ayari profile on transfermarkt 😉 https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/yasin-ayari/profil/spieler/667287 I think the comment about "Ayari knows about JDT from JDTs time at Malmo" relates to the fact that both were in Sweden at the same time (Ayari at AIK and JDT at Malmo) I guess it would be like like Adam Wharton saying he knows about Arsene Wenger from his time at Arsenal.
  7. 4-2 now. All 4 goals scored after Ayari was taken off at half time and replaced by Edmondson (no idea how any of them played)
  8. Maybe us getting the lad in from Villa has pushed him to do better?
  9. Maybe Pears is not the messiah? I have no idea about what the goals were like or who was at fault (or indeed if Pears is even half fit)
  10. 1-0 Reading after 5 minutes
  11. Elliott got 11 assists and 7 goals (and he was 17 at the time) https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/harvey-elliott/leistungsdatendetails/spieler/565822/plus/0?saison=2020&verein=164&liga=&wettbewerb=&pos=&trainer_id= Elliott and Moran are the same age and one is featuring fairly regularly for the team top of the Premier League (albeit mainly from the bench) which shows how far ahead of Moran he was and is in terms of his development https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/harvey-elliott/leistungsdatendetails/spieler/565822/plus/0?saison=2023&verein=31&liga=&wettbewerb=&pos=&trainer_id=
  12. I think you can start up to 5 overage players (it was 3 overage players when it was the U23s) Man Utd regularly play Tom Huddlestone as an on field coach and he is 37
  13. Pears starts for U21s tonight, posting here as it impacts the first team GK options soon
  14. I asked similar, and got no answer, not that I mind fans of other clubs checking up of their players, but it would explain a few things this poster has said
  15. Charlie Hughes? Isn't he being linked to West Ham and Ipswich (edit - and apparently Crystal Palace and Brighton too) for £2-3M? If we are struggling to find £500K in one go then there is no chance with that one
  16. In fairness to Elliott, he is behind Salah for the RW spot, so has had to retrain as a box to box midfielder. I imagine that slowed his development a tad
  17. Midfield 3 of Wharton, Rice and Bellingham (with Wharton displacing Phillips/Henderson... in a couple of years, not now) At least as long as Southgate (or similar) is England manager, he wont play Foden anywhere but wide, and Bellingham will always get in ahead of Foden if he plays a 10 rather than a midfield 3
  18. Are you the loan manager for Brighton scouting how he is doing and your car has broken down so you are doing your review remotely? 😉
  19. Please read my post again. Moran is a good player, but given the system Rovers play, Rovers current player options and where Moran is currently in terms of his development, he is not going to fit into a full strength Rovers team as a number 10, mainly as it would mean dropping the top goal scorer in the division or at the very least moving him (Szmodics) into a position where he is far less effective. I am sure that next season he will get a few appearances for Brighton and wont look out of place. Within 2/3 years he will be a regular player in a top 10 team in the Premier League (Brighton), and he may well get higher than that depending upon how dedicated he is to improving himself. If anything he seems to currently lack a little concentration and consistency
  20. Moran was impressive as a number 10 Vs Cardiff. But you cannot play Moran as a 10 and Szmodics as a centre forward (Szmodics is not a wide player so there is no where else that you could move him. Whatever formation we personally see JDT as using (4-4-2/4-2-4 with Szmodics as a central striker, 4-2-3-1 with Szmodics as the "10" or 4-3-3 with Szmodics as one of the "8s"... in reality it is all of them depending upon the situation, where the ball is on the pitch, and which team has position), there is no place for Moran as a 10 whilst Szmodics is in the team, and we cannot and should not drop Szmodics. Meaning that if Moran has to play anywhere, it has to be wide (he is not disciplined enough to play as an 8/box to box Moran can and will improve as he progresses, but right now, there is no place for him in Rovers best 11 as a number 10.
  21. It expires at the end of this season but Rovers have an year option in their favour to extend until the end of next season (presumably this would only be taken up if he rejects any and all contracts offered - as we have seen in the past with Rothwell, Nyambe, Lenihan, Diaz ect) Negotiations apparently ongoing, but because of his age, even if he doesn't agree a new one, he won't leave on a free (edit - as long as he stays in England), and because of the number of games he has played, you would have to envisage it would be a decent fee.
  22. He has played a few games for the U21s, despite still being an U18 player, but hasn't yet started banging them in at that level (2 goals in 12 appearances over the past 2 seasons) U21 stats - 2 goals in 12 appearances over the past 2 seasons https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/junior-nsangou/leistungsdatendetails/spieler/936903/plus/0?saison=&verein=&liga=&wettbewerb=GB21&pos=&trainer_id= U18 stats - 11 goals in 30 appearances over the past 3 seasons https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/junior-nsangou/leistungsdatendetails/spieler/936903/plus/0?saison=&verein=&liga=&wettbewerb=GB18&pos=&trainer_id= He may get there, but based on how many goals Leonard and Vale both scored at U21 level, I would guess that Nsangou is currently a long way from being a first team option. Maybe he will get there in the next couple of years?
  23. If you look at our results with and without Dolan as a central striker this season, starting with the away win at QPR (6 wins in 8 )and since his injury (1 win in 8), maybe Dolan is a central striker? Or at the very least maybe he offers something when playing in that role that brings out better in our other forward players? https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/tyrhys-dolan/leistungsdaten/spieler/647435 I remember seeing stats on similar fluctuations in win ratios with and without Gally in the team last season (unless my mind is playing tricks on me), and one thing they both offer is work rate (if not bags of goals). Maybe JDT should have tried Travis as a non scoring, hard working central striker after Dolans injury? 😉
