  1. Presume you are referring to this We have also seen Hyam, Buckley, Garrett & Brittain as captains in pre season games, Looks like either Eustace is having a look at who may be the best fit or trying to build a "team of captains" mentality
  2. Sometimes, even at that stage we cant get too excited
  3. U21s, U23s hasn't existed for a year or 2 now, but yes, he would be a signing for the U21s rather than first team
  4. https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/exauce-mafoumbi/profil/spieler/1005289 19 year old French striker. Very good record up until U19 level. Not yet scored for Nantes B in 6 games (think that is in French fifth tier) https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/exauce-mafoumbi/leistungsdatendetails/spieler/1005289/plus/0?saison=&verein=&liga=&wettbewerb=&pos=&trainer_id=
  5. https://sports.yahoo.com/key-man-united-target-chido-145600971.html#:~:text=Chido Obi-Martin%2C a key,and leaving as free agent. Just goes to show that a Finneran situation can happen to the "big clubs" too. Apparently scored 10 goals in one game for Arsenal against Liverpool U16s
  6. Chambers will comfortably be on a much higher wage at Cardiff than Gally is here, so, not the market Rovers would be shopping in Fisher didn't play in the league for Swansea this season at all, they had Rushworth on loan from Brighton. Fisher has played just over 40 games in 3 year for Swansea, so hardly a roaring success at this level
  7. From what I've seen, the guy from the J-League looks more a number 10 and the German is a number 9
  8. 28 this week 😉 Just thought, Rovers tried to sign McGuire the week of his birthday too Hopefully not an omen
  9. I think the correct wording is that the club will not pay for anything that is more than a gamble
  10. The quote is the opposite of your statement
  11. No, but you can have up to 4 players on those "elite significant contribution" permits. Since we got rid of Telalovic and Wahlstedt, we only have Sigurdsson (*) taking up a spot currently, so can bring in 3/4 cheap foreign pot shots * Not 100% sure if Sigurdsson qualified for a work permit or takes up one of these slots, so we either have 3 or all 4 of these slots remaining
  12. If true, it is probably due to the wage being offered to him. ie Rovers wont commit anything more than £7K-10K/week, So he wont sign a longer deal
  13. but it will be a loan with an option to buy (that wont be taken up) Probably blow the entire "war chest" on the loan fee too
  14. And John Fleck to return on a 2 year deal in late October
  15. I only meant Waggott shouldn't get any, but removed the 2nd part as I can see it may be misinterpreted
  16. They way things are going there will be a raffle to see who gets their P45, followed by playing hook a duck to see if they get any severance pay
  17. Norwich even played a midfielder, Kenny McLean for just shy of 2 months of the season ahead of Batth in central defence (Batth was available and left on the bench) https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/kenny-mclean/leistungsdaten/spieler/126600/plus/0?saison=2023
  18. I know it wasn't a question directed at me but... The academy set up, pretty much everything else is rotten to the core now
  19. Apparently Dack is in talks with Gillingham, can see him tearing up League 2 (in the 20 or so games when he is fit)
  20. There is also the "stereotype" of players possibly not being the brightest sparks, so it may just completely pass them by
  21. Should we replace Gallagher with Haaland or a clone of Shearer transported in a time machine from 1992?
  22. Spot on Otherwise we may as well all start discussing the pros and cons of signing Messi
